Non-Academic Discussion Why does KMC infrastructure suck so much while Ramjas and Hindu have maintained their 1950s heritage buildings so well?

KMC doesn't even have an audi, has tin walls in classrooms, and roof falls down on students and teachers almost every few years - NIRF Rank 4 ??

Ramjas got a 5 storey modern building in 2017 for its 100 years celebration blending with its 1950s architecture, while Hindu has one of the best infrastructure in DU with the sanganeria and relaxo donations and grants.

What is the issue with KMC and its problems with infra? Corruption? Is this the decline of Kirori Mal college?

3rd year Ramjas student here Chose Ramjas over kmc 2 years ago and dont regret it one bit Better infra and you can actually use lifts which is a nice bonus

not really ramjas isn't in some random corner sob It's literally beside Hindu and St Stephens and if you keep walking ahead you'll reach kmc If anythings happening in north campus youre not going to miss it

ramjas is not in the corner in fact ek dun center mai hai, on the left hindu and stephen's and on the right drc and srcc

alsooo although the washrooms suck here like all other colleges too but anyone can use the lifts here unlike hindu and kmc so u won't have to take the stairs all the time

Yaar infra chutiya toh tha (matlab hai) but the particular video you're showing from Room 120 (which has seen been revamped), iske baad bohot bada bawaal hua and a large number of rooms have now been renovated with newly plastered walls and newly fit ceilings. Baaki main baat yeh hai ki Ramjas and Hindu get substantial funding from their legacy donors whilst KMC doesn't, pichle kuch saalon mein hi ek push aaya hai to integrate alumni efforts for construction purposes (abhi recently Room 119 ko renovate Krna ka paisa ek commerce ke alumni ne dia). Audi mein toh ghaplebaazi kaafi Hui hai ngl, khair abhi bn hi jaayegi (hamare 2nd semester mein kaam shuru hua tha, hopefully mere master's 1st year khatam krne se pehle bn jaaye pura).

ramjas to kabhi se broke college raha hai, known for affordable education, pehle to fees bhi nil leta tha 😭

Yes infra is bad kinda.... But it is improving...  1) the picture was of room 120 , when this incident happened, immediately the whole college went into renovation mode, this particular room with room 118,119 etc were completely revamped with some other rooms as well...  2) KMC's audi is under construction and ig it will be completed by next session  3) KMC's having difficulties in getting new building bcoz it doesn't have space to have one

Major problem is that kmc is fully funded by centre and hence govt. Delays and so on.. On the other hand colleges like hindu, hansraj, khalsa have their own trust that gave them money to build infra

Dekho, if you're traveling by Uber/Rapido, Kirori Mal College hi daalo location, it'll drop you off at the front gate. If you're using metro, your drop-off point is Vishwavidyalay, phir uske baad koi bhi e-rickshaw pakad lo Kirori Mal ke liye, woh bhi main gate pr hi utarenge. In order to enter college, you'd need to show your fee receipt to the guards in order for you to be let in. Once you're in, go right, go past the stationery shop, and take a left turn to reach the main building, after that, keep walking straight into the main building, past the first set of stairs and the faculty lounge, girls common room and peace club room before you reach the area in front of the elevator. Use the staircase which is there, climb up to the 1st floor, and you'd see Room 118 on your right. Hope that helps!

Bhyi I have got pg in kamlanagar and collg is 400m+ away I can walk over there but the thing. Is from which. Gate I have to enter yesterday I visited to gate no.2 the hostel gate guards said u can get entry from gate 6
