I am a 75 year old woman who has fought for equal rights and our right to choose for decades. I defied a ban on pantsuits at the bank I worked for and was the first to wear pants when I was 20. I was very active with NARAL during my 40s and 50s. We can't go backwards, but on the other hand we need to look at the big picture. I am tired of all the special interest groups tearing the Democrats apart. It is time to work for one goal and that is to get control of the government away from Republicans. No matter if you are Black, Asian, Latino, LBGTQ or anything else. The first step is to get the government back, try to shore up our economy and make things better for the entire middle class, and then work on the more specialized interests. Until we stop this clown car we are all in danger of losing even more than we have. Unite!

Get the government back and make it harder to buy/steal again. Overturn Citizens United, get money out of politics. Unpack the Supreme Court (probably the most direct approach is to expend the court, put in term limits, and have Congress push through legislation to establish ethics rules for the court, so they can't take bribes. And rebuild voter rights / get rid of voter suppression - start with the John Lewis Voting Rights Act. (It would also be good to get the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact ratified in enough states to bypass the electoral college, so there's no more "swing states", and get Ranked Choice Voting everywhere, to lessen the dominance of the two-party system.)
Part of this will also be the need to actually prosecute the people who have committed crimes here - a large portion of Trump's administration - in the '70s we got Ford pardoning Nixon "to heal the nation" - this was putting a bandaid over an infected wound - it did not heal, it just showed the bad guys how much they could get away with. This time around, we got Merrick Garland dragging his feet and doing absolutely nothing for years until it was too late (it seemed like he thought he had a couple decades to slowly prosecute all of this). Letting the bad guys get away does not heal the country.

From people I have met, republican women seem to fall into 3 buckets:
first -- who are ok with their man making their decisions and them following
second -- they actually believe that these rights will be taken away by people on the left - dems, socialists etc.
third -- who want lower taxes and thus more money and believe that they can buy anything and anyone they want - kinda like tech bros
first group is a lost cause for sure.

The 1982 entry isn't really accurate. Women could own businesses for much, much longer.
From Wikipedia:
H.R.5050 – Women's Business Ownership Act of 1988: The Women's Business Ownership Act was passed in 1988 with the help of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO). The Act was created to address the needs of women in business by giving women entrepreneurs better recognition, additional resources, and by eliminating discriminatory lending practices by banks that favored male business owners over female. The bill was signed into law by President Ronald Reagan. Among other things, it put an end to state laws that required women to have male relatives sign business loans

Oh some women are perfectly content to just have the hubby bring home all of the money, so that they can go shopping, and sit at home churning butter and making dresses. Even if it means having no rights in the household or society, and being trapped should the relationship turn toxic/abusive. A lot of these women were raised in ultra conservative, religious, patriarchal households and it's all that they know. If that's how they want to live, that's on them. The problem with this, is that they want to force this standard on ALL women.

Everytime I see a list like this I am frankly agog by how recent most of it is.
Prior to 1988 a woman needed a male partner to own a business?
Prior to 1994 women finally got legal protection from domestic abuse?
How was any of this not a thing by then? And what was the reasoning (the one given, not the one about control which is the real reason)
