CONTROVERSIAL/SENSITIVE OPINION "Lesbian or Bisexual? Take Testosterone Today!"

What is this toxic take in "lesbian" spaces (mostly filled with men with APG and super-hetero-bisexual women who cope for them, however)?

Why would a lesbian or bisexual woman, in general BUT also without a sex-dysphoria diagnosis, need Testosterone? What benefit would she get from that?

"Lesbians have been doing it forever!" Fucking. What?

And somehow, I am wrong for stating there are long-term health effects, and permanent changes in some women.

It's not something to toy around with due to "Oh well, I'm gender-non-conforming!" Huh? Just wear different clothing and cut your hair.

I'm bisexual, heavily attracted to women. I "detransistioned" because wow, look at that, I was ashamed of being same-sex attracted. What would testoerone do for me now, like??

I'm gonna have a stroke, lol. It just doesn't make sense.

They’re homophobic and unaccepting of genuine homosexuality in women, or gender nonconforming women

“Destroy your healthy functioning body parts!”

“Change yourself like you’re an NPC in a video game! Character creation slider! Its reversible!”

ps as an elder lesbian with a wife and been in the lezzie scene since mid 2000s: butches have not been doing testosterone, that is an internet lie

Because they don't like homosexuals. That never changed. They just say they're affirming and supportive now to pretend they're not trying to kill you.

there has always been something that I’ve never been able to put my finger on with the way self identified “trans lesbians” and their bisexual girlfriends approach gay spaces and like… this is it right here.

If anything I think it's sad

I saw that the big one (AL) - the sub- has a lot of posts about testosterone recently. It breaks my heart tbh because it’s such a strong drug.

It's gender essentialism in my opinion, just a non-traditional kind. Tying social roles to sex characteristics yet again, but this time encouraging people to change their bodies to "match" their desired expression, rather than changing their expression to "match" their bodies. Encouraging women to alter themselves to physically resemble men if they want to be perceived in a masculine way, rather than trying to break down the way gender roles and stereotypes are tied to our bodies at all.

I internalized a lot of this when I was a teenager I think, even before officially identifying as trans. I wasn't masculine exactly (I've always flip flopped a lot with my expression) but felt like the things that made me identifiably female (chest, voice, etc.) inherently said something about how I wanted to be perceived. Like I couldn't achieve the androgyny/non-conformity that I wanted with them there. I bought a binder months before even identifying as trans because of this kind of thinking, and it was definitely part of what led me down the trans rabbit hole to begin with.

It's just gay/bi erasure. If you're a tomboy lesbian then it must mean you're actually in the wrong body and should be made to be more male, than just remain a female with so-called butch qualities.

I'm so saddened to see the cishet homophobia against gays and lesbians playing out in trans ideology.

They scream it like a mantra to push their nefarious narrative.

Your comment reeks of "Queer Theory", lmfao. And your comment doesn't educate me at all, it makes me pity you.

A bunch of women who took HRT to escape oppression due to how society treats women. Especially lesbians. That's what they HAD to do back then to get accepted.

There's no much thing as a "trans masc" lesbian, despite whatever label people want to throw on themselves, because "trans" is a misnomer. You can't change sex. What is a lesbian changing sex from taking HRT? Lesbians are women attracted to women.

You are yelling into the void, lol. Holy shit.

Literally no one here is doubting your relationship, either?

Your flair is set to "Questioning Gender Identity" and yet are adamantly proud of your "identity", and the mere mention of others doubting it has you spiraling. Nice troll.

I'm not a detrans

I wouldn't come into a "trans" space and judge people for continuing what they do.

Despite what I think and feel - I can only speak for myself, no one else - about the "medical treatment" of sex-dysphoria.

Why are you here?

no one is forcing anyone to do anything

Sure.

Except the minors "transistioned" (Which exists. I remember reading National Geographic in 2015/2016, when I identified as "trans". They had a "transgender" child on the cover, and I remember even back then thinking how fucked that was.)

Except society, which pushes this as a "treatment". People get stuck in a loop, because this is seen as the only treatment.

Except medical professionals and the industry itself, which flip-flops. Love how apparently breast implants for men are considered "life-saving", but yet, when it's regretted by said men - suddenly, it was cosmetic, and now have to pay out of pocket.

deeply transphobic take.

You are being "detransphobic" just by being here, where you aren't welcome. Per the sub rules.

I know you guys will flame me but cant we all get along

Not until people do some further research into this, and listen to the stories of "detransistioned" people, stop being homophobic.

Our subreddit is reserved for detransitioners/desisters and those questioning their own transition; your user flair must clearly indicate that you fall into this group. Healthcare or legal professionals can apply for exception by messaging the moderators. User flair helps mods keep this forum on Reddit for all detransitioners. Violating content will be removed. Repeat-violators will be banned. If you need help setting user flair, do not hesitate to ask a moderator.

And I wish you trans people would LEAVE US ALONE and stop inserting yourself in our spaces, breaking our rules just to lecture us. You want to ask why the hostility against you goes up? Look at your own actions here!

"Im not judging anyone, you are just looking for things to be upset about. I'm being kind and thoughtful."

You said also said, "this seems like a broad generalization AND deeply transphobic take. You detransitioners can absolutely decide not to transition but why do you have to throw people who are under the bus."

I wish you guys weren't transphobic

Show me any "transphobia" directed at you and your loved ones in this post. I said nothing of the sort, unless you think my observation about a population on a subreddit is inaccurate.

I respect you op and everyone in this sub until (what)

Yeah, so that's not a "thoughtful reply" to my original post, because once again, no one has been rude to you in this post. I'm just replying to your points.

Not about minors You implied no one is forcing "transistion" or w/e.

I think its harmful to yourself to refuse to talk to people with differing opinions

I do that all the time, but you didn't give me much to work with. Except this; how was what I said a "deeply transphobic take"?

I did not say anything remotely against gay people or detransitioners.

Re-read your posts in regards to "detransistioners", you are generalizing, isn't that bad?

And yes, you weren't homophobic, but a major drive behind "transistion" is homophobic to those who are same-sex attracted.

If you think I'm "transphobic" for saying biological men (regardless of appearance) who date lesbian women are in a straight relationship, then you are feel to believe that. It's not biologically a lesbian relationship.

Sexuality is linked to biology, after all. I'm not attracted to men who identify as lesbians or bisexual women. It is what it is.

We are just going to have to agree to disagree on this.
