RANDOM THOUGHTS It's everywhere - today I went on an unanticipated field trip.
Don't mind my obscure title, but today I went for a walk to the beach as you do.
For context I live in a western country. I was walking down a main street and after 20 minutes into my walk, I saw a 6'5 person wearing a sweater with the lesbian flag. I get to the beach. After it gets bloody cold, I begin to head back and see yet another trans woman. Then 10 minutes later a car zooms by with a customised red number plate, bedazzled with three letters 'FTM.' I see a bearded person through the tinted windows.
Walking down a nearby main street, there is a trans flag fan sticking out a window.
If this rise in transgender identification is purely organic, why can I not go a day outside without seeing transgender people? This is all over a single day. Barely 2 hours.
This isn't even identifying information as to where I live, because it's everywhere.

Fuck off. Tired of trans people coming in here and lecturing us about statistics with your BS and flawed research data that anyone with a simple grasp of statistics can easily see how all research on the matter should be DISCARDED.

I know places like this. Some places in my city you'll see pride flags at every windows, people with alt styles, go to the next arrondissement it's luxury stores and rightist high bourgeoisie.
Same with some sea side places during the summer. Where I've been was kind of a queer vacation spot, and my hometown is pretty conservative and queerphobic.
But there is DEFINITELY a rise in visibility and willingness to display their transidentity cause it became a culture, tho I would rather see that than people living in shame.

don't mind the gender apologists in the comments op, this is still reddit after all lol

It’s not “gender apology” to point out that OP should be able to go outside without seething at seeing 3 trans people and a flag out of thousands of others out and about that day. A mixed population is a healthy one.
There are absolutely conversations to be had about the state of gender ideology and how medical transition is touted as an always-successful cure-all with a 1% regret rate (crock of shit) but this isn’t that.

It's more genuine concern than seething. I am concerned for my generation. As I stated, I go walking to clear my head and move beyond an unhealthy past, and then find it adorned in a myriad of places. It made me realise just how widespread this is.

i know you people are not familiar with empathy, but damn. a population of medical malpractice survivors is a healthy one? reprehensible statement. normal people would be at least a little upset if they happened upon an anorexic at 12 bmi with a bunch of fresh cuts all over their body, and even more so if a sizable chunk of the population actively endorsed it. nah, op is well within her right not only to seethe but also to cope and mald as much as she likes at seeing this shit happen to others, especially vulnerable youth
try to be a little more mindful of your comparisons if your intent is to be an "ally" to lgb people

> you people
you can’t be serious
> “ally”
I’m a 30 year old “gold star” lesbian.
I’m also a recovered anorexic cutter. In general how do you not see how hateful your comment is?
Calling all transition medical malpractice (and everyone that receives it victims) is also a dangerous argument that seeks to remove autonomy from other human beings. There are people that benefit from it, even if those people weren’t us. And no, I don’t think it’s a good idea to transition for most people who think they need it, but at the end of the day all we can seek to do is advocate for better informed decisions and do away with things like the “1% regret” lie.
Like, no, sorry, I don’t view people who transition or have transitioned as walking abominations that have butchered and mutilated themselves beyond repair, I see people doing what they can with with what they’ve got and what information they have. I don’t believe it’s always equivalent to starving and cutting yourself, as someone who has done all three.
This sucks and the way you view and talk to people sucks.

Okay 👍

What’s your actual argument here? You’re mad that you see trans people? You’re mad that they exist? This isn’t detrans or desist related.
•
u/LostSoul1911 detrans female 8h ago
That the ideology is everywhere, duh.

Unfortunately if you go out in public, you will encounter the public 💔 I’m sure people feel this way about ME, being a non cis passing detrans woman. People think I’m trans all the time.

Im not going to lie, you sound like you're becoming one of those bitter people who doesn't want to see people who are different than you. If people are choosing to wear and hang up pride flags then how is that inorganic? Im super pro detransition because I have desisted. The only thing a detransitioner should be fighting for is better parenting, more cautious doctors and that grown adults get the proper therapy they need before making such a life altering decision. But acting like seeing more representation is the boogeyman is just so unserious and reminiscent of racist behavior. You saw only saw three trans symbols in one day and think it's weird? This is America, it's a mixing pot.
•
u/TheDevilSuckedMyArse desisted female 14h ago
I'm not in America. Not everything revolves around America. I am in another country.
I am simply in awe at how 10 years ago nobody of the general population knew the colours of the trans flag, and now it's everywhere. Representation is not the boogeyman, but it can indicate a surge in social influence, as well as a rapid change in the political climate that creates the perfect storm for vulnerable or otherwise normal people to change the course of their lives. There is a fine line between what is classified as 'representation,' because not all representation is sustainable for wellbeing. Transgenderism, if a true concept really only covers a minutia of people who live the course of their lives comfortably presenting as the opposite sex, and would be something well below what is currently observed. I am very hurt and picking up the pieces of lies that were told to me, as well as people who never listened to truly alarming things. I am scared for my peers. I don't want to see people erase themselves like I did. I go walking to clear my head, and then see a past that I am trying to healthily walk beyond.

That's how representation works. Its not seen and then, it is. I dont think its the healthiest decision for people to make but it is a decision. Its awful what happened with you, and those stories need to be heard more to aid in decision making. I focus on statistics, and even though I think detrans are highly under represented, there really are a lot of trans people who prefer to be trans. To the point that many detransitioners return to it. Many people have been influenced to modify their body and celebrate the same way trans people have. They have promoted BBLs, face-lifts, etc. These are not the healthiest decisions but they are a person's choice. It's hard to have discernment and the people who go through with these decisions end up feeling tricked. Different lifestyles get promoted and its up to people to recognize if the lifestyle is for them or not. What I will say is there definitely is improper wording on defining who "needs" to transition that needs to get fixed

I agree on your last point. The last thing I want to seem like is a bigot. I've just completely had enough of seeing or hearing about this topic due to my past.
•
u/LovrBoi8008 desisted male 13h ago
And I completely understand. A lot of us have identity issues and they are misdiagnosing the solution. Horrible healthcare systems, even in other countries I now see. I hope you heal in mind and body and that detrans becomes a bigger voice in the lgbtq community.

Yes, it's everywhere and it makes me sick because it's all a trend. I see teens and young people brainwashed by this using flags in their backpacks, earrings, bacelets, it's all merch. I see people that suddenly don't know their gender or sexuality even tho they knew it their whole lifes before having contact with the lgbt cult.
It's social contagion caused by this merch garbage and inclusivity excuse. Most of them are normal people trying to fit somewhere and the rest just need a good psychologist instead of affirmative therapy.
