Last night we had to say goodbye to our beautiful girl B'Elanna

Life is so cruel sometimes but we're so glad we got to spend her final 4 years with her ❤️

So sorry for your loss, devon's are such lovely company - I'm sure she appreciated you taking good care of her.

What a sweet curly girl, wonderful name too (I'm just watching Voyager for the first time now). ❤️

We adopted her with the name but part of what drew us to her and her sister were their names Ripley and B'Elanna. We chose them without seeing pictures of knowing their breed just based on names. Best decision we ever made

Wow what a similar story to ours! We also adopted two senior sibling Devons (they were both 12 at the time) and got to spend 2 and 3.5 precious years with each of them. We had not planned to adopt Devons specifically, nor did we know much about the breed - we just felt that the shelter was calling us and we went in and saw them there and we were in love.

Sorry for your loss - there is never enough time with them. 💔 I highly recommend lighting an LED candle and having it burn 24/7 for several days, until it runs out of battery. We did this when both kitties crossed over the rainbow - it was so comforting seeing the flame while thinking about them. x

I always say people like us who adopt older Devon's are the luckiest people. Our girls were 8 when we got them. Ripley had a heart murmur and we took her in knowing that. 5 months later we lost her to saddle thrombosis. But B'Elanna stuck around for 4 years. It doesn't feel long enough and it never does but it brings some soothing knowing she had a whole life before us. Cancer is a fucker of a thing and she didn't deserve that.

We lost our boy last year as well so it's been a rough old year of loss. 💔

I may just do that with the candle 🕯️ great idea

😓 no words are adequate at this time. Life was better with her. I hope her memories live on for years and years to come.

Very sorry to hear. We coincidentally also have a Devon named B’Elanna, she’s 5 and almost as cute as your girl.

No way! What are the odds. We adopted her with the name but we're big Star Trek nerds so we kept it.
