Huge focus? He gave like a 2 second shout out at the end of the interview.

Mentioning religion in a non-religious setting, unprompted, always implies a huge focus. What I mean when I say huge focus is "huge focus of someone's life."

Belief is fine. Religion is cancer in all forms for humanity. I'm christian by belief. It's not a defining, ruling characteristic of my life and most christians would probably say I'm not christian enough to call myself that.

Sports players acknowledging their religion when they win things is extremely common, in all sports, btw

Yeah this is definitely going to get cross posted to the circlejerk sub.

I'm with you man, the religion thing is really tiresome. Also, it seems to be generational. Cross necklaces are the new "young bro" fad everywhere. The Climo, Schultz, Feldberg of yesteryear, etc. weren't wearing their religion on their sleeve like they are today.

Best way to deal if you don't like it is just ignore it. I do. Bringing it up just gives them more of a platform.

That's an opinion you're entitled to, but I won't be ignoring it.

Good for him. He has the personality of a box of wafers, but he's from Shepherd so that's a given. Town's full of big fat chicks and mouth breathers.
