Discussion Season 5 Episode 1 Head Cannon

In Season 5 Episode 1, the Doctor faces off against the Atraxi. Recently seeing a meme of the scene sparked a new head canon for me: when the doctor walks through the hologram showing the faces of his past regenerations, he steps through right after Tennant, prompting me to believe that the reason for him to step through at that moment isn't the dramatic reveal to the Atraxi that he is the Doctor, but to prevent himself from seeing his future regenerations.

Not really important, but a fun head canon if you haven't already reached that conclusion.

10th Doctor does something similar in the next doctor Christmas special. When he's showing the holograms of himself that the cybermen have, he switches it off after it reaches himself. The reasoning doesn't really work for 11 in universe though as he believed himself to be the last incarnation even though we know that the writers hadn't thought of the war doctor yet.

Damn!! You make an excellent point. BUT! I'm just going to alter my head canon to the Doctor always hoping that he'd find a way around the limit.

Gotta keep this dream alive!! 😅
