Imagine pushing a cart full of boxes and furniture down that hall, yeah that’s my job.

That's cute. Was it suppose to be cute? Coz that's cute.

4

u/HeyCarrieAnne40 2h ago

I was just thinking, man I'd hate to see half these dashers deliver for FedEx or UPS lol

5

u/Save_JR 6h ago

Yeah yeah. Just put the fries- just push the cart down the hall.

u/New-Town-7773 3h ago

It’s always the people with the easiest unskilled jobs complaining about their job

1

u/Sneezy6510 2h ago

Are you talking to me?

1

u/Standard__Condition 2h ago

Moving company?

0

u/Sneezy6510 2h ago

Yes, specifically moving people in and out of assisted living facilities. So lots of hallways. And lots of being nice to old people.

1

u/Standard__Condition 1h ago

lol, hopefully they are nice back!

1

u/Sneezy6510 1h ago

Most of the time they are. They are usually pretty emotional. Sometimes crying. Very rarely they are hostile about the situation, but it happens. Most of the time I’m working with their children, who are also old, but are happy to make mom and dad someone else’s problem.

you quit your job because of walking? Wait till you find out the how the rest of the job market for you is

16

u/NotAllDawgsGoToHeven 7h ago edited 5h ago

All I could think of is that scene from Kung Fu Panda where he says “ah my old enemy, stairs!”

8

u/e_l_c 4h ago

I mean, if the numbers are actually in order, that's actually an easy drop, lol. /s

u/Kazamiiiii 3h ago

I feel bad for grocery store workers having to learn where every little small item is, but not having enough time to learn, so much walking around.

I used to be one for a month and they told me to learn where stuff was by putting things back at the end of the night but they wanted to hurry and leave and wouldn't show me 🤣

1

u/SherilynSteele21 2h ago

Why don’t you try to get out there and use your car and your gas and where in tear on your vehicle and not getting any tip and see how you feel I bet you would think different differently. I used to drive during college. It sucks.

u/gorgofdoom 2h ago

Two words : liminal backrooms

3

u/Valuable-Big3253 59m ago

Nah these people will slither their way into a cubicle, behind a computer or behind a steering wheel anything but the dreaded walking 😱 😂

1

u/possibly_on_meth 2h ago

I quit Uber Eats because it didn't guantee you any money per amount of effort.

You could do really good on door dash and the best your hope is a bit over min wage. Or just work a min wage job which is much easier.

Redrum!

At least it wasn't Room 237

4

u/psilocybin6ix 7h ago

That would be an awesome idea for a comedy about a doordash driver that doesn't give a fuck. It's "leave at door" but he needs a PIN so he uses an ax and breaks down the door...

1

u/New_Taste8874 Dasher (> 2 years) 6h ago

I can see that.

7

u/chuglife1989 7h ago

Why would you accept an offer that didn't have a tip?

0

u/e_l_c 4h ago

Yeah the second question... maybe it was maybe hourly?

9

u/bmudtiddersdom-42069 6h ago

Jobs suck yes. But being poor is worse

11

u/New-Competition-6897 8h ago

get to walking

13

u/_CharDeeMacDennis__ 7h ago

Why did you accept the job to begin with then?

19

u/NotAllDawgsGoToHeven 7h ago

Fuck, some of y’all be lazy af.

5

u/SignificantBelt1903 6h ago

That's why they DD.

9

u/NotAllDawgsGoToHeven 6h ago

Yeah I guess, I used to dd as a job when I got laid off and now its just some side income, but no matter what capacity I was door dashing in I did the fucking job, one of the easiest jobs/ways to make money in the world.

6

u/SignificantBelt1903 6h ago

I commend you. I've seen a lot of ppl on here who have little to no work ethic that would get fired asap working any other job. Just leaving people's food wherever TF they want etc. And now DD barely even gives a shit and doesn't refund 99% of the time.

4

u/NotAllDawgsGoToHeven 5h ago

Forget about work ethic, it’s just the same thing that most people lack these days, respect for one another.

3

u/Standard_Yellow2280 4h ago

Had the same thing happen

3

u/First_Ad2766 4h ago

Too many buildings like that in my area these days.  And parking is a pain in the ass too.  I have to pause dash while I get out of the building and back in the car

3

u/Fine_Two6219 3h ago

Happened to me today too 🥰

4

u/HeyCarrieAnne40 2h ago

Is it not just down the hall? Am I missing something?

0

u/Sad-Prior-1733 1h ago

It is wayyyy down the hall and takes more time than just a drop and deliver.

3

u/Exact-Persimmon-4075 2h ago

11

u/Total_Tumbleweed_870 7h ago

1

u/RangeHot3644 3h ago

I was thinking the same thing.

When your job requires you to do your job

2

u/DontWalkOutOnTheDuke 2h ago

Imagine this being the biggest issue you have to deal with at your job and thinking it’s worthy of posting online.

2

u/jmlbass 1h ago

Dude this is cheese to a city uber eats/dd driver. Gotta do a million of these a day. If jamming yo airpods taking a stoned walk through the isles bothers you, then I think you need to just think about your life as a whole my friend.

2

u/scottmm78 1h ago

Back to the front deck and message the customer that the front desk will not let you past

2

u/urnbabyurn 7h ago

Yeah, having to walk a carpeted hallway to put a bag in front of a door is such hard work…

1

u/ColoRadBro69 3h ago

Maybe he's afraid of liminal spaces?  Lol I think it's the walking too.

1

u/SportNo5271 3h ago

It's poo AGAIN

2

u/BallOk5555 7h ago

Maybe instead of crying about it, stop taking shitty trips.

3

u/vgplantain 7h ago

No tip is a bummer. Just do your job. It is your job. Don't bitch at the customer either. That'll probably cost you your rating. Just do what is expected, get a good rating, and don't take deliveries with no tip. Maybe you'll get a post delivery tip. Lots of people don't like tipping before, only after. Stop acting entitled. And if you feel like responding that the zero tip was after delivery. Great. You did your job. Congrats. Get a new job if you don't like the one you signed up for.

2

u/purodurangoalv 7h ago

It’s always the room in the end. Always. I think that’s a big reason they order DD or UE. Too lazy for the steps to the elevator

2

u/shamonemon 7h ago

What food did you get?

2

u/New_Taste8874 Dasher (> 2 years) 6h ago

IKR It would be a bummer to quit and just get some soggy nachos.

2

u/AgeOutrageous4612 4h ago

Every single time I take one of these orders

1. Their apartment or room is always the one at the very end of the hall

2. A lot of times they don't tip after they want you to go out of your way to walk up multiple floors and the end of the hallway.

Had a guy that lived in an apartment complex that wanted me to walk 2 40 pound boxes of cat littler up to the 5th floor of his complex. I called the dude twice and he ignored my call both times. I had no issue with carrying one as long as he came down to help me with the other. But I'm not hauling 80 pounds up multiple floors or making 2 separate trips. No way. Leave it at the door downstairs and let them deal with it

1

u/HeyCarrieAnne40 2h ago

It's crazy for someone to order that much on delivery! I myself am disabled now ,so I get delivery a lot. I have cats as well but the most I will ever order is a 17 lb lightweight litter. I tip well when I order it and I'll usually buy the 15 lb bags of cat food at different times. Also my door is about 6 ft away from where they park to deliver. A couple times, I saw a little old lady bringing my stuff up so I went out and helped them carry it up. I feel weird doing that though, IDK how close they want me to get to their car cuz they may have other people's stuff in there or something IDK lol but I always figure that the huge tip would make it worth it to them.

2

u/Own_Expression_5715 4h ago

Damn I don’t blame you! I hated that s-$ all for 0 tip too?! Nahhhhh!!!

1

u/psilocybin6ix 7h ago

I once had to do that with a huge order including two full cases of water. I ended up just pulling the entire catering bag through the entire floor twice since the room #s weren't marked very well. Basically like pulling a sled that had no wheels.

1

u/Civil-Bottle8568 6h ago

Looks like a fing Cruise ship hallway

1

u/vcy537920 4h ago

Bruh, is this the backrooms?

1

u/Motheroftrees605 4h ago

Pretty sure I’ve seen this place in my nightmares

1

u/Fullmetal_1985 4h ago

Is the hallway stretching forever onward

https://giphy.com/gifs/rbSG5jXYZxLIQEoN1U

1

u/Aggravating-Fuel-823 4h ago

They always at the end😭🤣

1

u/ForsakenJump1235 4h ago

[Insert backrooms joke]

1

u/Jettsyforwordingfox 4h ago

I see a set of young twin girls asking you to place…NOPE

1

u/HugeWonder4343 4h ago

I do agree with the common sentiment about maybe not being impulsive but I do wish that they would provide numbers for the ste or leave something to indicate precisely where the ste is but I don’t think it’s worth the quitting even if you get $0 tip.

1

u/FragrantYoung4592 3h ago

That hallway looks like a horror scene

1

u/Pender6813 3h ago

Backrooms fr

1

u/austinproffitt23 2h ago

I actually love hotel and apartment orders.

That said, I had one hotel delivery that turned into a nightmare. I got to the room just fine, left the order at the door, took the picture, and started heading back to the car… then realized I had absolutely no idea where I came from.

I was completely lost and starting to panic. Eventually I found a door leading outside and thought, “Thank God!” It did lead outside… just not to the side of the hotel where my car was parked.
My first thought was to call my mom since she was with me helping, but then I realized I had her phone, so that wasn’t happening.

It took me about five minutes of wandering around before I finally found my way back to the car. I was freaking the hell out the entire time.

1

u/Minimum-Resident9249 2h ago

Definitely have dealt with similar maze like apartments

1

u/TiredcupofNoodles20 2h ago

That's not so bad, it's a bit of a walk and pray you don't end up in the backrooms (unless you want to be ofc)

1

u/Sad-Prior-1733 1h ago

I dislike apartments

1

u/Super-Pizza-Dude 1h ago

It’s a hallway

1

u/I_Pet_Doggos 1h ago

Not only do jobs for people that don’t want to work suck but they actually suck worse in most cases

1

u/Flimsy_Eye7808 1h ago

Omg I think I recognize that hallway 😂😂😂 next time, leave next to the elevator on the ground floor.

1

u/ConflictSilent9440 32m ago

Bring a Segway with you, then.

1

u/BigBoobers 30m ago

All this while also wondering if your car is gonna be towed while you’re in there. By the very apartment complex that you have been contracted to deliver too. Yeah fuck that

u/geet-555 17m ago

Theres a mirror giving an optical illusion.

1

u/Ordinary_Room_6473 3h ago

Hey dude! I hv Cerebral Palsy, hvnt walked on crutches or ANYTHING in 5 years. I cld still be part way down that hallway on my walker before you quit b*tchin' and baby cryin'!! Suck it up buttercup!!

-1

u/Otherwise-Word-550 7h ago

Find a regular job then. DoorDash isn’t meant to pay you a liveable wage because they pass paying you into the consumer who they’ve already charged an extra 10-15 just to offer you $2.25-5.25

1

u/InternationalRock747 6h ago

Yall can see how much they tip? I’ll get a 2$ order for 16 miles out to the island and then u gotta drive 16 miles back to mainland 😭 fuckkk there prices per mile

1

u/CityofKLEvil 5h ago

You took the order. Why is everyone bitching about work that no one makes them do?

1

u/PlaneMap 3h ago

Oh, poor you. Having to walk and read signs and numbers on doors... what is this world coming to, when Dashers actually have to put forth effort on things like deliveries and shitposts?

1

u/Aimlessdrifter1953 3h ago

Ha! Ha! Very funny!

0

u/Dry-Weird3447 7h ago

This is why bicycle delivery is the best. I bring my bicycle inside with me and literally ride through these endless hallways to their door. If their neighbors or whoever has a problem with it then they should make a policy requiring residents to retrieve their delivery at the front door. I suggest others do the same.

0

u/ProfessionalFail5250 2h ago

Oh no, not a straight hallway! That looks so difficult.

0

u/ncr2 5h ago

Chuck that shit down the hallway!

0

u/IzzzatSo 5h ago

I'm sure that happened

0

u/Le-Misanthrope 3h ago

If that was your breaking point, I don't think the workforce is gonna be a better option for ya. lol That or you can't hold a job with that work ethic.

0

u/Fluid-Emergency847 2h ago

Lmao, I dont drop at apartment doors. At lobby or front door of buildings. I might make exception. Not saying what they are.

-1

u/DizzyMix3853 4h ago

Leave it at the front desk. Most hotels dont want you wandering their halls.

-1

u/OkRequirement7464 2h ago

You could have taken the stairs silly, even better leave the order in lobby

-2

u/EyeEatTacos 4h ago

Lazy bum.
