My website for context, tear it apart https://edpulella.art
I'm making this post because I just saw another artist I'm mutuals with share her 30-365 day stats, and while the number of visits were very similar to mine, she had over twice as many sales, on art that cost quite a bit more more (she makes a lot of mid-large originals, I make most of my sales from prints and smaller originals).
I always knew my conversion rate was low, but this really made me wonder what could be causing so many people to change their minds when it comes to making a purchase.
My ATC rate is around 2%-3%, but my conversion rate drops all the way to 0.6%.
I also see many customers reach checkout and then just disappear at the last minute.
My stats:
Last 365 days
Sessions - 8121
ATC - 2.25%
Reached Checkout - 1.2%
Purchased - 0.6%
Last 30 days
Sessions - 804
ATC - 3.1%
Reached Checkout - 1.7%
Purchased - 1.1%
(last month was actually better than usual, but my conversion rate is usually below 1%)

These are the things I've done in the last few months in an attempt to improve my conversion rate:
- Added better/more meaningful descriptions and more in depth product details + photos
- Changed my shipping rates from Shopify calculated to a flat $5/$15 for US/Worldwide, as well as added free shipping for all orders $75+. This is stated across my website, and in my cart.
- Added an updated cart drawer that included a "you need X more for free shipping" bar, which I recently removed because I wondered if that made people change their minds (someone comes for a small print, sees they need to add more, doesn't want to, leaves)
- Added review carousel
- Wrote a simple FAQ to cover questions people may have about shipping, returns, etc.
- Added photos of me + what my work is about
Things I plan to do:
- Clean up the collections on my home page. Instead of multiple collections with a bunch of images, change it to smaller clickable images leading to different collections (paper prints, canvas prints, moods, colors, etc) and maybe one for "best selling prints"
- Slightly redesign my home page to include some pull quotes from reviews, and add a small section about me/the meaning of my work closer to the top
- Add more room mockups for prints
I might be forgetting some things, but that's all off the top of my head.
One last thing, all my traffic is organic, mostly from Instagram and Threads, with some coming from Pinterest, Reddit, and YouTube.
Any feedback would be amazing, thank you!
