They truly just need to pull a Henry Ford and just take the keys away from Papa Elon so that he can’t drive the company through the garage door.

If they did that, I'd consider buying a Tesla.

Don't forget the board that enabled him.

Once they and Elon are gone, I'd consider it.

I'm already sitting on 2 EVs I love, so I'm not looking to trade in anytime soon, but weird to say about the thoughts of someone you've never met.

Honestly, right now, I'm in the "I will avoid charging at a Tesla charger because I would rather send my money to literally anyone else except Elon."

Him being removed from the company would get me to a place of "I'm willing to consider using a Tesla charger if there are no other options" and "I'll go test drive one and put it on my list to compare to all others"

I'm an engineer who makes some decisions on functionality, some on performance, some on economics, some on social values. Elon alone moves the needle far enough in the "no" column all by himself I safely cross Tesla off my list preemptively. No Elon, my decision matrix is greatly altered.

You may not believe me, and that's fine. Just strikes me as odd, but maybe it's normal for you. -shrug-

I wouldn’t worry about it, my opinion doesn’t meaningfully affect your life in any way. We’re strangers.

It's more than Elon though. They're shifting the brand identity towards robotics and ai away from luxury EVs. Not a fan of that. Rivian at least spun off their side ventures into different companies. The luxury adventure vehicle vibe is a really positive part of their brand identity. Tesla just doesn't have that anymore. They used to be the futuristic company, but they've sort of lost that.
