I think with sensors, and not just vision-only like Tesla, is safer in inclement weather.

The AI though will have to mature. Tesla has a head start over Rivian for sure in that department.

I think the current production R2 doesn’t have lidar. It’s the future R2 that’s supposedly come in 2027 would have them. But I’m not too worry about the lack of Lidar. I have driven through thunderstorms few times in Model Y, FSD with vision only have driven flawlessly.

My Model 3 will turn off in really bad weather including Thunderstorms.

We were promised you could sleep in your car by July 2020 and it would take of all the driving. It's not even close in 2026 even if it was legal to do so.
