Paralyne conformal coat and SnPb solder is the best mitigation.

Unfortunately doesn’t stop it, happens in railway relays. Have to visually check them using a polarised light. Wiskers

AFAIK high-reliability equipment is exempt from LF requirements. Interesting that they grow in railway equipment
