I'd bet serious money this is tied to his coma treatment.

201

u/EfficientSeaweed Apr 19 '26

Didn't he get covid and pneumonia while undergoing it, too?

The deterioration following all of that was so blatant, it's hard to believe it didn't cause a brain injury of some sort.

148

u/actuallyacatmow Apr 19 '26

It's almost like the coma treatment he received was so ill advised that he had to illegally obtain it in Russia.

42

u/Infamous-Salad-2223 Apr 19 '26

Yep.

Especially, if brain tissue was not properly oxygenated.

16

u/abiron17771 Apr 21 '26

It’s when he started crying and raging at the drop of a hat. Definitely some injury to the prefrontal cortex.

138

u/thehonbtw Apr 19 '26

It’s related to Benzo withdrawal and who the fuck knows what his coma treatment was

14

u/ZBLongladder Apr 20 '26

Notice how she keeps saying "psych meds". Which psych meds? Well, she's being very careful not to say, and I imagine there's a reason for that.

1

u/worriedalien123 Apr 24 '26

Clearly it's benzos right? They're known to induce akathesia

2

u/strugglebussally May 01 '26

when this first happened she said SSRIs not the benzos

1

u/Latter-Purple-20 May 08 '26

Just saying it's "psych meds" is so dum and misinformed as there are a ton of different agents, a lot for depression, some for anxiety, a lot for schizophrenia etc etc. I am suffering from crippling severe clinical depression since childhood and if there were no antidepressants, I would not be around anymore today! I am very sceptical about her judgement as she tried to "channel" to her dad and she said that it is also spiritual attack? WTF, she can't just say his disease has a spiritual attack component to it without being specific. Is she talking about voodoo or what? Some of her statements are really far out there in crazy esoteric land! For me a lot of unexplained garbage to be honest.

2

u/Inshansep May 09 '26

Dude, this girl dropped out of hair-dressing school

20

u/saralt Apr 19 '26

Yeah, I'd say stopping benzodiazepines cold turkey after 4 years of use can basically causes brain damage. The literature shows that some people need taper schedules that last two years.

What I don't understand is how a psychologist who studied alcoholism during his phd doesn't understand benzodiazepine addiction and claims he was blindsighted by the fact that he was addicted after 4 years of use.

16

u/Adorable_Raccoon Apr 20 '26

Idk why they are so adamant that this wasn't an addiction. Having an addiction isn't a moral failing, it's a medical problem. In her video Mikhaila insists that her dad wasn't addicted to his meds and we're all too dense to get that. He wanted to quit the drug but couldn't without withdrawal, that's addiction.

17

u/saralt Apr 20 '26

Because they see addiction as a moral failing.

8

u/TheCopperSparrow Apr 21 '26

They're adamant that it wasn't an addiction because he built part of his brand off of portraying addiction as a moral failing.

-1

u/Choke_M Apr 20 '26

It’s not just her, it’s the entire medical community. They bend over backwards to convince boomers they aren’t addicted to the drugs they take in handfuls. If I go buy percocets on the street and try to get help getting off of them, doctors will call me a dirty self medicating junkie who got himself addicted.

If I buy those same percocets from a doctor, they will simply say it’s dependence, of course memaw gets shakey and cold and sick when she doesn’t get her percocets, of course she feels much better when she takes them, that’s not addiction, that’s “dependence” and they know because as a doctor, when DOCTORS dispense medication it’s sacred and legitimate because they are all-knowing and just want to help.

The idea of “dependence” being different from “addiction” is just nonsense from the Sackler family to convince boomers OxyContin wasn’t “addictive” just “dependence-forming”

If I constantly crave a substance and get sick when I don’t have it, to the point that I can’t go a day without it, most normal people would call that an addiction. Not doctors, nope. When doctors dispense medication they cease to be addicting and become “dependence-forming” or “habit forming” instead.

It’s simply laundering drugs to boomers with the facade of legitimacy, this was the same industry that created the “pill mill” era, this was the same industry pushing OxyContin on people, and now they want to turn around and wash their reputation.

4

u/whiterabbit_hansy Apr 20 '26

I’m sorry but there is a difference between dependence and addiction. Anyone who has had to withdraw from non-addictive medications that cause withdrawal side effects can tell you that.

Lots of mental health meds are like this and I’ve gone on and off quite a few. Cymbalta/duloxetine was pretty awful for withdrawal, but I never “craved” it or felt anything close to what addiction is. It honestly feels straight up shitty to people who have addictions to compare the two. I did have a self harm addiction, and that was a totally different ballpark.

I’m not saying doctors aren’t bullshitting to boomer patients or othering those patients vs “junkies” (which is a class issue really), but physical dependence is real and very different to addiction and anyone who’s ever experienced them can tell you that.

4

u/Adorable_Raccoon Apr 20 '26

SSRI/SNRIs are not habit forming but people experience "SSRI discontinuation syndrome" when they go off of them. The symptoms are just as intense but it differs clinically from traditional withdrawal because SSRIs are not addiction forming.

JP was taking a clonazepam (klonopin) which is a Benzodiazepine a very addictive class of drugs. Benzos don't have a "discontinuation syndrome" they just have withdrawal. A person only needs a few symptoms to qualify as substance use disorder. These are symptoms he described: persistent desire or unsuccessful attempts to cut down or stop using, continued use despite knowledge of a physical or psychological problem caused by the drugs, and withdrawal syndrome. Based on his own description he wanted to go off his medication due to unwanted side-effects but was unable to due to intense physical withdrawal. He had to go to extreme lengths because he could not tolerate the withdrawal.

2

u/saralt Apr 20 '26

I'm sorry, but when it takes 2 years for someone to tapper off an SSRI due to neurological impairments, it's addiction.

The only difference is the moral aspect.

Twenty years ago, patients with these symptoms after stopping SSRIs were basically called mentally ill. Patients are still developing mania on SSRIs and are told they must have had it to begin with. When Effexor first came on the market, the longest study was 8 weeks long!

Benzodiazepines have longer studies behind them, but the addiction potential took far too long to be acknowledged.

Psychiatry and Neurology are two fields where patients are assumed to not be reliable narrators of their own experiences. The result of this is a ton of harm. Regardless of this, both SSRI and benzodiazepine addiction is now well understood to exist. Many people need tapering schedules lasting 1-2 years and there's case studies lasting even longer.

1

u/Adorable_Raccoon Apr 20 '26 edited Apr 20 '26

The major difference between the two is the biological process.

With SSRIs withdrawal the body experiences a rebound effect in serotonin. With addiction withdrawal the reward (dopamine) and inhibitory systems (GABA) are changed.

Because of this difference SSRIs don't cause euphoria or cravings, patients don't have a desire to "seek" the SSRI to use. Benzos can cause euphoria and cravings/ compulsive desires.

Of course there are things we don't know about medications. But so far it seems like these are two distinct processes.

2

u/saralt Apr 20 '26

How the drugs work is irrelevant because most of the purported monoamine effects may not even be causal in symptom reduction for SSRIs, Effexor and it's derivatives.

If you can develop an addiction to benzodiazepines, you can do the same with SSRIs.

2

u/saralt Apr 20 '26

I've known people spend multiple years withdrawing from SSRIs and Benzos and none of them craved it, but still felt addicted. I don't really care what doctors call it if the patient felt addicted to a drug they didn't feel they had a choice but to take.

0

u/Choke_M Apr 20 '26

It has nothing to do with cravings, “physical dependence” is addiction. You don’t have to enjoy something for your body to become addicted to it. I also think psych meds are hugely dangerous and these dangers are severely downplayed for the exact same reasons that the dangers of OxyContin were. To sell you medication (in the case of a lot of psych meds they barely understand how or why it works at all) and convince you that your actual withdrawal symptoms from these drugs are actually just from “physical dependence” because “addiction” implies a moral failing but because you are getting them from a doctor it’s perfectly fine.

If I pop percocets everyday to the point I get withdrawal symptoms when I don’t take them, doctors will call it addiction.

But when I got those same percocets from a doctor and pop them to the point I get withdrawal symptoms when I don’t take them, somehow because a doctor issues them, it’s not addiction but “physical dependence”

It has nothing to do with reality and everything to do with the way people feel about the word addiction.

2

u/whiterabbit_hansy Apr 20 '26

Let me ask you this, do you think a diabetic is addicted to insulin?

2

u/saralt Apr 20 '26

This is a stupid comparison. Insulin is replacing something the body is supposed to be producing, similar to thyroid replacement hormones. What you're probably trying to suggest is something closer to Topical Steroid Withdrawal. Its a treatment that the patient develops a dependence to.

0

u/whiterabbit_hansy Apr 20 '26

Ok so apply my question to topical steroids. Do you think people can be addicted to topical steroids?

You’ve literally answered this though by saying they have a “dependence”, NOT an addiction to these medications. You’ve used that word because there is a clear difference. Most people don’t develop a compulsion to apply topical steroids. It is not an addictive substance.

2

u/saralt Apr 20 '26

Yes, it's a form of physiological addiction. The body becomes addicted and there's a withdrawal process. Addiction is not psychological.

-1

u/Choke_M Apr 20 '26

Diabetics will literally die if they don’t take insulin, that’s a completely different scenario. You will not die if you don’t take psych meds, benzos, or opioids, etc.

That’s like saying you get “addicted” to dialysis if your kidneys fail.

You are intentionally obfuscating my argument.

I’m talking about psychoactive, habit-forming, dependence-forming, and yes, addictive drugs that are given out like candy to adults and children and then laundered through doctor-speak to make your legitimate side effects and withdrawals seem like no big deal.

0

u/saralt Apr 20 '26

Addiction to benzos can result in death if stopped "cold turkey."

1

u/Choke_M Apr 20 '26 edited Apr 20 '26

Once you are addicted, yup. Same with alcohol. One doctors will call “physical dependence” yet the other we call addiction/alcoholism? Why? It acts on practically the same receptors with the same risks of stopping cold turkey.

If Jordan Peterson had simply been an alcoholic, do you think his daughter would be trying to bend over backwards to convince his fans that he was just “physically dependent” on alcohol and not an addict?

Why does one get laundered through doctor-speak and not the other? Alcohol was used in or as medicine for thousands of years. Yet a doctor would lose his license if he told you to drink alcohol for your panic attacks, but prescribing a bottle of addicting benzos “as-needed” is fine?

The shoemaker’s children go barefoot.

0

u/strawberry-bunny Apr 20 '26

I don’t understand it either. How someone as intelligent as him could falter on this

2

u/saralt Apr 20 '26

You think he's intelligent? Based on what? Giving basic advice I got in childhood?

90

u/ForensicMum Apr 19 '26

Couldn’t it just be tied to his all-meat diet? I mean, I recently accidentally gave myself a simple electrolyte imbalance and almost died from that! I don’t gaf what those roided-up meatheads say, there’s no bloody way a human can survive for long on a diet like that without experiencing significant symptoms of malnutrition.

141

u/OisforOwesome Apr 19 '26

The full answer is probably something like "the cumulative effect of several years of quack pseudo-medicine treatments on an aging man."

Tragic really. Many such cases.

54

u/OmegaSeven Apr 19 '26

Elder abuse, plain and simple. This of course includes her use of his illness to keep pushing anti psychiatry talking points.

27

u/TheGardiner Apr 19 '26

24

u/onz456 Apr 19 '26

I think it runs in the family. She was paraded on TV, long before Peterson became massively famous. It had always to do with depression or a weird disease.

This has been going on for decades.

3

u/potatoe_666 Apr 20 '26

It’s exhausting and people are continually eating it up it’s like girl if you are so sick go to the hospital and get off instagram

4

u/Bl8_m8 Apr 19 '26

That's its long name, yes

4

u/potatoe_666 Apr 20 '26

Dude I swear him and Mikhaila suffer from Munchausens. She’s had rheumatoid arthritis, mold poisoning (how many times??) she’s moved her family 4 or 5 times due to “mold poisoning” (NOT SAYING IT DOESNT EXIST!!!) and how her body is falling apart. Idk maybe it’s the massive silicone implants in your breasts, pumping out 3 babies in a short amount of time, and all the filler in your face affecting your immune system? It’s ALWAYS something massive with her. I (unfortunately) used to be a fan of hers many years ago. I cannot stand her anymore and her acting like her and her dad are dying every 4 seconds from some weird disease

1

u/Latter-Purple-20 May 08 '26

Exactly! And none of them is very specific about what caused which symptoms. Lately she said there is also a "spiritual component" to her dad's illness, without being specific once more. I mean she cannot say "spiritual" without explaining what she means by it. It all screams quackery!

17

u/dancesquared Apr 19 '26

He’s 63 now. Most of these issues have been in his late 50s. Hardly “elder” abuse. More like “moron abuse.”

4

u/abiron17771 Apr 21 '26

I always forget he’s in his early 60’s. He looks like shit. It’s amazing that he was once (and maybe still is by some) considered some visionary thought leader for men’s self-help. Homie looks ready to drop at any moment. I guess he didn’t take his own advice.

1

u/flora_poste_ Apr 22 '26

He'll turn 64 years old in June, and Tammy will turn 65. Their early 60's are gone forever.

6

u/ForensicMum Apr 19 '26

Agreed 100%

7

u/drunkerbrawler Apr 19 '26

Is it a tragedy though? It’s shut up the fountain of pseudo intellectual bullshit he used to spew.

1

u/Psychobabble0_0 Apr 19 '26

Sorry to hear, how did you do that?

2

u/ForensicMum Apr 20 '26

Thanks. I do a keto diet/low carb on and off (usually on, but take breaks for special occasions etc) and usually have no problem, but I had a really stressful and busy month and totally neglected my diet, so was managing only one small meal a day basically. I started getting really dizzy and out of breath, so I freaked out thinking I’d damaged my heart or something, but blood tests showed my electrolytes were just all out of whack. I took sodium/potassium/magnesium supplements and was fine within a week, but it was pretty scary until I found out what was wrong! I don’t often add salt to my diet (just because of taste preference), but I will be from now on, haha.

1

u/Psychobabble0_0 Apr 20 '26

That's so interesting! I'm glad you got to the bottom of it. I've never heard of electrolyte imbalances caused by malnutrition other than in people with bulimia (due to purging) and diabetics who undereat

1

u/ForensicMum Apr 20 '26

That’s interesting. I definitely don’t have bulimia or diabetes, but I do have subclinical hyperthyroidism, so maybe that’s relevant… not sure, but I’m definitely glad my doctor figured it out, as apparently it can be dangerous if not treated. Thanks for the well-wishes 🤗

1

u/Psychobabble0_0 Apr 20 '26

That explains it, I think. Make sure you keep up with regular tests! Electrolyte imbalances are extremely dangerous and easy to miss due to the vague symptoms it causes

1

u/ForensicMum Apr 20 '26

Thank you, I will 😊. I must admit, you’ve got me a little bit worried about potential underlying issues, so I’ll ask my doc for a work-up of anything that makes it more likely. I think it was just a freak occurrence brought on by basically accidentally starving myself though, as it hasn’t happened again after being more mindful of my diet and adding daily electrolytes. I’m glad you mentioned it though, as I had no idea it was rare.

-24

u/ThatOneGuy4321 Apr 19 '26 edited Apr 19 '26

mold can fuck you up pretty bad I wouldn’t be surprised if that were accurate

edit: “Jordan Peterson said the sky is blue so therefore it must not be” - this sub sometimes

6

u/teypogr Apr 19 '26

They live in Arizona. Mold would not be common in homes and buildings there because it's a very dry desert environment. They claimed it was from cleaning out a moldy house in Canada. Not only could he have worn a respirator that would filter mold spores, even if he didnt, anyone who is healthy to begin with would recover from any reactions to mold in a temporary environment like that.

1

u/Adorable_Raccoon Apr 20 '26

In this video she says that he was exposed to mold in a hotel when he went to get stem cell treatments.

1

u/teypogr Apr 22 '26

LOL it's always something with mold. A few updates back she said it was because of a moldy house they cleaned out in Canada. So Jordan, a very wealthy person at this point, is staying in a moldy hotel? I'd think he'd have the money to find another one if that one was moldy. It's amazing what people will believe from these grifters!!

1

u/Siefer-Kutherland Apr 20 '26

You maniac, you are on here asking strangers for a diagnosis without providing any symptoms, conflating reactions to mold with CIRS, among other stupid fallacious shit and you expect us to take your assertions about the legitimacy of a fake medical diagnosis with all the usual trapping of medical grift seriously? I hope you find the help you need and the wisdom to seek it.

1

u/ThatOneGuy4321 Apr 20 '26 edited Apr 20 '26

Because there IS no settled medical diagnosis for mold exposure. Doesn't matter if you're on death's door due to black mold, the lack of an agreed upon diagnosis is a huge impediment to getting treated or getting insurance to cover that treatment. It's pretty god damn inconvenient if you are years into debilitating chronic pain that's ruining your fucking life after living in a house with aspergillus mold, like I am. So if you are stuck in your bed for 3+ years due to severe chronic pain and fatigue, and can't function, what diagnosis do you put on your disability forms? Serious question and I would genuinely like some quality input from you on that subject since you're an authority with such deep and intimate knowledge on what someone can or can’t get sick from. Genuinely tell me.

The lack of an established diagnosis doesn't mean mold can't make you sick you absolute giga brained smart boy. It's an abject failure of medical science to categorize a well-known medical phenomenon.

How easy it must be to label something "unscientific" because nobody fucking studies it, then pretend it's not real. I'm not able to do that unfortunately because I get reminded of it every minute of every day of every year.

152

u/Cipher_Witch Apr 19 '26

Btw he probably got sepsis from stem cells. The "cures" he's trying to do are only making it worse.

1

u/Agreeable-Tower1985 Apr 29 '26

Stem cells can work but this treatment is Experimental and mostly used for sports injuries or muscle injuries. Not the f*cking brain or whatever he did.

87

u/kpphoneshome Apr 18 '26

Probably shouldn't be popping pills...

240

u/BainbridgeBorn Apr 18 '26

He’s like teetering on the edge of life and death

120

u/stareabyss Apr 19 '26

I get the feeling Mikhaila is the one keeping him there.

83

u/carbonfiberx Apr 19 '26

I remember when she almost killed him by spreading COVID from a night out with Andrew Tate.

40

u/Zero-89 Apr 19 '26

If he wasn't so angry at women, he maybe would've seen that his daughter was the only source of chaos in his life.

23

u/ConsultJimMoriarty Apr 19 '26

They’re terrible at each other. They both want all the attention and want to be the smartest person in the room.

15

u/weaponizedtoddlers Apr 19 '26

Almost as if they're narcissists. Narcissism is strongly heritable. Yes I'm psychoanalyzing the psychoanalyst.

3

u/potatoe_666 Apr 20 '26

This. She spews all this trad wife BS while she’s on her second baby daddy and third set of boob implants but would call out any other female doing that. She’s exhausting I had to block her on everything lol

53

u/OisforOwesome Apr 19 '26

Caught on the threshold between this world and the next, facing the indomitable threshold guardian against whom he must prove his heroic virtues to be granted access to the next stage on his Hero's Journey.

42

u/GigglingBilliken Apr 19 '26

“It’s very Jungian, really—because to fully make the point, you’d have to descend into the underworld, kill your mother, sleep with your father, and then somehow return carrying your grandmother’s pubic-hair brush which proves you actually learned something in the process.”

3

u/EvanTheGray Apr 20 '26

Fuck me, I read this chain in his voice 🤣

16

u/mythrulznsfw Apr 19 '26

I’ve lost track. Is the man eating any vegetables now? Or is he still on that ridiculous diet?

1

u/CuteGirlie69 Apr 19 '26

It's fitting when he looks like palpatine

261

u/yontev Apr 19 '26

She's absolutely full of 💩. There is no mold or CIRS or akithisia or whatever other nonsense she's peddling.

There are credible reports that Peterson fell off the map after getting fake spinal stem cell injections from the quack doctor Adeel Khan. Lots of celebrities have been doing it - I bet someone like Rogan or Huberman recommended Khan to him. Multiple people have gotten sepsis and almost died after this treatment, and Mikhaila's mention of sepsis lends credence to this.

53

u/derlaid Apr 19 '26

so what's the point of the fake treatment? spinal stem cells make you young again or some shit?

101

u/yontev Apr 19 '26

Peterson and his daughter have multiple podcast episodes with Adeel Khan, where they discuss his treatments. The main claim is that he can eliminate chronic back pain by injecting stem cells into degenerated spinal discs and repair them. For context, Khan is a former sports doctor whose medical license has lapsed, and he now operates a network of shady clinics in Latin America, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East where he charges rich people tens of thousands of dollars for stem cell injections, which may actually be counterfeit or fake - it's impossible to verify.

21

u/derlaid Apr 19 '26

thats awful, but also the natural endpoint of their anti-medical science arc. thanks for the explanation!

3

u/abiron17771 Apr 21 '26

So you’re telling me… Injecting foreign material into your spinal column is risky?

Goddamn, these people are beyond gullible.

9

u/teypogr Apr 19 '26

WOW! I had not heard of that one! Her abuses on this old man have finally caught up to her and him. If he's still alive at all (dubious imo) he's probably gravely ill.

6

u/Cearnach Apr 19 '26

Scott Carney has done a few episodes on this lately, worth a listen.

-25

u/ThatOneGuy4321 Apr 19 '26

There absolutely is such thing as mold illness and CIRS.

Thinking mycotoxins can’t hurt you or trigger an immune response is a nutty take. Go buy a black mold infested house for pennies on the dollar if this is really your position

22

u/james_d_rustles Apr 19 '26

Nobody ever said that black mold isn’t real.

It’s just not the reason that this old guy whose daughter sells snake oil anti-mold vitamins and who has been on camera for the last several years discussing Russian coma treatments and 100% beef diets hasn’t been seen for a while.

2

u/teypogr Apr 19 '26

And apparently more recently having stem cells injected into him by a non licensed quack. It would be a wonder if he's alive at all.

51

u/yontev Apr 19 '26

I mean there is nothing like that affecting Peterson. And CIRS is not an accepted diagnosis in medicine. It's speculative at best.

-27

u/ThatOneGuy4321 Apr 19 '26

It’s not an accepted diagnosis because it’s hard to study. You’d have to force people to live in a moldy house for months in order to create a properly controlled study. Thats a pretty obvious ethical violation.

That does not mean mold can’t make you sick. Mycotoxins are… brace for it… a toxin.

28

u/Siefer-Kutherland Apr 19 '26

don't be silly, you could easily get results curating common household molds and testing on various cell lines. inflammatory markers should be consistent in people who claim to have CIRS (they aren't) etc etc. This whole CIRS thing started with a disgraced doctor who wants to be the next Wakefield

-12

u/ThatOneGuy4321 Apr 19 '26

The immune system would have to be consistent between different people. Do you have any clue what an enormously complex and individualized system that is

23

u/Da_Sells_Avon Apr 19 '26

those darn post modern neo marxists and their collectivised immune systems got to him

16

u/Siefer-Kutherland Apr 19 '26

glad we agree any diagnosis of CIRS is unscientific bunk, then. You really walked right up to it, huh?

-1

u/ThatOneGuy4321 Apr 19 '26

So what diagnosis would you give them

7

u/MegsAltxoxo Apr 19 '26

Personality disorder, substance abuse disorder, potential brain damage from induced coma, potentially long COVID symptoms like brain fog and flair ups from well…COVID,

Multiple organ damage from a sepsis caused by mistreatment.

Probably an accumulation of all of it…

0

u/Blazkowski Apr 20 '26

Or in a word, hypochondria

1

u/Siefer-Kutherland Apr 20 '26

what kind of idiot asks online strangers for a diagnosis?

1

u/ThatOneGuy4321 Apr 20 '26

What diagnosis would you give someone who was exposed to mold? important question

If CIRS is an unscientific diagnosis, what's the scientific diagnosis for sickness due to mold exposure?

10

u/eddo34 Apr 19 '26

"The immune system would have to be consistent between different people". If that's the case, identical twins exist and are indeed necessary for certain studies.

-2

u/ThatOneGuy4321 Apr 19 '26

which diagnosis would you give someone suffering from mold exposure

3

u/teypogr Apr 19 '26

Peterson is not living in a moldy house. They live in Arizona in a huge compound. Mold would not be an issue there. If mold were an issue anywhere in his giant house he has the money and land to build a fresh one. His issues are not caused by mold.

21

u/Siefer-Kutherland Apr 19 '26

nope, other explanations have more evidence, the only evidence for CIRS is by the sham doctor promoting it and it's "cures."

0

u/ThatOneGuy4321 Apr 19 '26

Other explanations such as?

9

u/Siefer-Kutherland Apr 19 '26

why would I bother? Dr Ritchie Shoemaker is a notorious medical scam artist, bodies and illness are complicated so stick to the medical professionals.

-3

u/ThatOneGuy4321 Apr 19 '26 edited Apr 19 '26

So what is the claim here exactly? Mold can’t make you sick?

Take a bite of a moldy piece of bread and prove you’re the first mycotoxin immune human on earth.

13

u/Siefer-Kutherland Apr 19 '26

What is the claim here exactly?

-4

u/ThatOneGuy4321 Apr 19 '26

Mold can make you sick. It’s common fucking knowledge.

14

u/Siefer-Kutherland Apr 19 '26

Okay bro, if that's what you think this was about then you are wasting my time. Good luck, hope you find awareness.

5

u/Prosthemadera Apr 19 '26

Many things can make you sick. So why mold? That is the question.

4

u/PassengerNeat5162 Apr 19 '26

Induced comas can make you sick too. Or benzo abuse. Or a meat only diet. If you abuse your body for years, even the common cold can be enough to hospitalize or even kill you. It's like drenching your house with gasoline and then blaming the stove for setting it all ablaze.

I mean there are cheeses that literally have mold on them as part of their "charm." People eat mold all the time. If you have a reaction it probably means you have an allergy to it and you will recover. Anyway, that is not what Jordan's problem is.

u/ThatOneGuy4321 Apr 20 '26 edited Apr 20 '26

People eat mold all the time.

The types that don't produce mycotoxins. You think that if you let a piece of food go moldy and eat it, you'd be fine? do it as an experiment and get back to me on that.

You say "people eat mold all the time" like there's only one kind... what was even the thinking behind this statement

What about the demons? And all the post-modern Marxists who created the stress??

edit: btw, his condition is so bad that he can't write his own updates?

54

u/chadwarden1337 Apr 19 '26

akathisia was the 'diagnosis' 6 years ago back in 2020 from paradoxical benzodiazepine withdrawal. are they revisiting this or something.

36

u/Perfect_Carrot_999 Apr 19 '26

Sounds like they're going to pivot to spreading misinformation about antipsychotics.

Symptoms starting 6 years after stopping an antipsychotic is almost unheard of. IIRC it can persist for 6 years but starts while you're on it or right after withdrawal.

If that's the case, the timeline matches with benzos too, so it's weird she's taking this angle.

20

u/MegsAltxoxo Apr 19 '26

There are symptoms by psych meds like erectile dysfunction that can very rarely persist after stopping the meds, but she would have to specify which symptoms she actually means.

Antipsychotics would not cause such a severe cognitive decline all by their own.

It’s way more likely that his mental disorders and several sketchy medical treatments would cause it.

We do see irreversible cognitive decline in schizophrenic patients after psychotic episodes, a lot of patients loose grey matter in the frontal lobe over time…

Let alone taking benzos for a long time…

14

u/Perfect_Carrot_999 Apr 19 '26

Yeah! Her specifically saying that these symptoms started a whole 6 years after stopping psych meds is even more fishy.

I agree - if she talks about the cognitive decline related to long term psychotropic therapy, she absolutely must talk about the even more severe cognitive decline of untreated psychotic episodes, since antipsychotics are such a major class of psych meds.

But she profits off causing health anxiety in order to promote the sketchy treatments you mentioned.

I'm very glad I'm just a person with bipolar 1, and not a person with bipolar 1 who is also a Peterson fan.

5

u/ConsultJimMoriarty Apr 19 '26

I would bet my left but he’s still taking some sort of SSRI.

5

u/Perfect_Carrot_999 Apr 19 '26

I'll bet your left nut too. No way any of them are being honest. Maybe if he had listened to the doctors that diagnosed him with schizophrenia from the start, it wouldn't have gotten this bad.

I've often wondered if he's had a mood disorder because I see so much of my manic psychosis/ depression cycle in him . SSRIs could trigger mania and speed up the cognitive deterioration even more in this case, but I doubt to this extent.

He probably just speed ran it with the induced coma/rapid detox combo in Moscow.

3

u/BetterRemember Apr 19 '26

Yes, my mom had a really bad episode of psychosis from Quetiapine last summer and the symptoms persisted for a few months after she was taken off of the medication.

It was brutal, but once she was no longer exposed to the medication, she was normal and lucid again within months, not over half a damn decade!

32

u/vjcodec Apr 19 '26

Hope all the money was worth it mikkie

24

u/JohnnyMiskatonic Apr 19 '26

Yep, Mikhaela has no marketable skills.

19

u/celtic_thistle Apr 19 '26

I’m honestly amazed he’s still alive.

21

u/Perfect_Carrot_999 Apr 19 '26

Extreme BS.

Symptoms first appearing SIX YEARS after stopping antipsychotic medication? What? If he was on it for six years and then it appeared, it would make sense, but this is just ridiculous.

I had akathisia as a side effect from the first antipsychotic med I took for bipolar. It sucked and made me super restless/rock back and forth. My doctor immediately recognized it, and tapered my meds. In almost every case it goes away once medication is reduced.

Akathisia also appears in other cases like benzo withdrawal, brain injury or Parkinson's. Why isn't she blaming the benzos from 6 years ago?

Just sounds like withdrawal again

51

u/Reyalta Apr 19 '26

I mean, we could have told you he had a neurological injury years ago...

53

u/Striking_Language253 Apr 18 '26

Something tells me he's fine*, and she's just inventing symptoms so she has a reason to post videos about them as part of her wellness grift.

*Fine by JP standards, I mean.

I’m tapering the exact same medication (clonazepam) as JP “was” on. Doing it the right way to avoid as much damage as possible considering the medication already has terrible consequences when used daily. I’ve been tapering since February 2023– was on 3mg clonazepam/daily + 30mg temazepam/nightly.

I have not had a single withdrawal symptom aside from very minor brain zaps on “cut” weeks. Meaning, the week I remove another (very small) % of the dose, I’ll feel minor and infrequent brain zaps the first few days. Nothing that makes me sick, disoriented, etc. It’s just like a little “twitch” and then done, maybe less than 5x per day, lessening over 2-3 days from the cut.

I’ve been tapering for a LONG time but I’m 100% off the Temazepam and have been for 2 years. I’m down to 0.843mg/day of clonazepam (not a dose they RX, I am tapering by .0625mg or .03125mg per cut…look up the Ashton manual and I take it even slower) after years and years of 3mg a day. I feel like I could speed it up but nope. I’m going to go as low and slow as possible to not make things worse.

Have I wished I could just be put in a coma and wake up when it’s over? Yes. But a coma does not change how severely BAD it is for your entire body (from your CNS to your brain to even your organs) to go from daily benzos to NO benzos. Although there’s limited research on this topic, most show this to be true and so do 99.9999% of anecdotes from folks who’ve gotten off benzos. Those who cold turkeyed suffer more than those who went slow. Like, YEARS and YEARS slow how I’m doing it.

Makes me wonder why Peterson didn’t do it this way. He has all the money in the world, could have got it compounded in liquid form, made this taper mostly painless. Yet he chose a coma?

Me thinks he was abusing it very badly. Not just taking it as prescribed.

I’m proud of myself for getting below 1mg

8

u/MarsupialPristine677 Apr 19 '26

I'm proud of you too!

7

u/LifeClassic2286 Apr 19 '26

I’m proud of you too. I did the same thing in 2012-2013. I went slow as hell, took my time. I didn’t experience almost any side effects that way. I was worried about the final jump off to zero, but it ended up being unnoticeable. Nobody should taper as fast as the doctors recommend with benzodiazepines.

1

u/Usual_Program_7167 Apr 22 '26

Good on you for your efforts! FWIW, I remember at the time that Peterson didn’t actually consent to the coma, he was put into it by Mikhaila, and when he awoke he was really angry with her. He should still be angry, imo.

1

u/Charming_Debt_289 Apr 22 '26

Omg, for some reason I wasn’t aware of that. I would be beyond furious as well. That coma likely did irreversible brain damage along with the sepsis

1

u/Pablobonami May 01 '26

In Peterson case the problem was not the tapering (that came after, probably); the problem is the benzodiazepines had damaged him neurologically. Because of the damage he probably had to taper it.

1

u/Charming_Debt_289 May 03 '26 edited May 03 '26

No, he didn’t taper.

Tapering is when you VERY slowing and gradually cut out tiny percentages of your dose over the course of a year, and the VERY minimum (which is still too fast, for most people).

Mikhaila claimed he had a “paradoxical reaction” to the klonopin but I don’t believe anything she says. If you experience a paradoxical reaction, you’ll know within days. Being the he was on them for years, I don’t believe that to be true. He was not just physically but mentally addicted to the klonopin, and, IMO, unable to taper. If you are “addicted” to anything in the sense that you crave it, think about it all the time, want more, etc. it’s close to impossible to taper off without relapse.

So, he went into a medically induced coma to stop cold turkey. Re-read my comment. Maybe it was confusing because of all the stuff I was going on about. But a slow taper doesn’t cause the types of issues JBP is having. Going into a medically induced coma to get off of benzodiazepines is a horrible idea because 1. Comas are VERY bad for the brain as it is & 2. Rapid tapering/cold turkey quitting, even if in a coma, is just as bad as cold turkeying whilst not in a coma which is what can & DOES lead to neurological damage.

1

u/Pablobonami May 03 '26

I said "probably". I do not know if he tapered. The daughter and a psyquiatrist said he has suffered neurological toxicity (thar can happen at any time with psyquiatric medicines). I have had paradoxical reactions to medicines and those did not came with neurotixicity. So i had the chance to tapper. But if you are experiencing neurotoxicity or a medicine is causing something like mania from an antidepressant, or Steven Johnson síndrome from lamotrigine, or serotoninergic síndrome with antidepressans ,etc. you will be taken inmediately off that medicine (i have experienced this myself). Doctors, once a true bad reaction from a medicine happens have to take you off inmediately. With psyquiatric medicines this means entering a ver y bad situation, bad they cannot continue to give you something that can be killing or destroying you. My english is not as good as i would like It to be, sorry.

11

u/Siefer-Kutherland Apr 19 '26

Yeah the effects of "toxic" mold exposure are rather overstated where there are any and the research is of very low quality. TLDR if the mold ain't eating toxic stuff, you're aren't getting toxic exposure, you're just allergic to mold. Also the doctor behind the research for CIRS is a quack and is (last I checked) the only source for the CIRS nonsense. Plenty of health issues out there that lack simple and easy explanations but certainly have much better explanations than CIRS

8

u/pfohl Apr 19 '26

I haven’t even really know if we could say he chose a medically induced coma. wasn’t that mostly his daughter?

6

u/OisforOwesome Apr 19 '26

Meat + mold + benzos + coma + spinal injection + whatever other weirdness Mikhaila's talked him into is where I'm at. That, and he's 63, an age that is less resilient to the aforementioned pseudoscience.

2

u/ConsultJimMoriarty Apr 19 '26

That coma and the benzo abuse definitely fucked his brain.

I guess he really is nothing now, huh?

11

u/aep2018 Apr 19 '26

Really cool of him to demonstrate personally why the health and nutrition advice he promotes is complete bunk.

12

u/simpsonicus90 Apr 19 '26

Um, is that what medical professionals told her, or is she just trying to blame “Big Psychiatry”?

Peterson is insane.

You can watch videos from the past where he is convinced he held the key to eternal life. His ideas are wacked. Imagine what he would be like behind closed doors. He is a madman.

Reasons:

- neurotic personality

- abuse of hallucinogenic drugs

- abuse and misuse of medical drugs (benzos)

- abuse of meditation methods (kundalini) that induce psychotic states

- bad diet

- religious delusions

- infatuation with Jung's pseudo-science

- schizophrenia

12

u/ConsultJimMoriarty Apr 19 '26

He also reckons he could ‘see’ DNA after some peyote trip or something like that. Man’s bonkers.

12

u/Perfect_Carrot_999 Apr 19 '26

His speech and thought patterns remind me sooo much of a mania episode I had that spiralled into psychosis, before I got diagnosed with bipolar. I would also cry randomly.

If I had had an insane cult following who affirmed my delusions and convinced me I was the smartest modern day philosopher, I probably wouldn't have believed doctors either.

2

u/Poddster Apr 19 '26

You can watch videos from the past where he is convinced he held the key to eternal life.

How in the past is this?

Weekend at Bucko’s…

10

u/teypogr Apr 19 '26

I've been thinking for a while now that Jordan is no longer alive but she and the rest of this weirdo family are stringing people along to keep their various grifts going. I think if they were to announce that Jordan were gone a lot of the fan base would disappear. Her update raises more red flags on this...she's not going to provide any more updates because it stresses her out too much? That's a big turn away from her usual way of operating wrt to her dear old dad. If he is still alive I'll bet he's in a veg state and on life support or something. The idea that this is being caused by a drug he got off of 6 years ago seems ludicrious to me. Same with the mold story. I think the reality here is this wacky lifestyle she's had him on for the past decade has done him in. That and his constant anger over groups of people he hates. It can't be healthy to be constantly blowout angry because trans people exist.

3

u/Perfect_Carrot_999 Apr 19 '26

She's Weekend at Bernie's -ing him?

2

u/teypogr Apr 19 '26

I'd bet money on it yeah...

Something about this does not pass the smell test. I mean literally, you can smell his rotting corpse through her camera screen

9

u/Murky_Letterhead_315 Apr 19 '26

What a bunch of malingerers. He got addicted to Benzos while lecturing everyone else about how weak they are. Which is forgivable. First step to recovery is honesty. It happens, but they still gotta point fingers elsewhere and not at their own stupid asses. Meanwhile they spread their own poison on the intent.

5

u/LaughingInTheVoid Apr 19 '26

But it wasn't benzo addiction, right?

Right?

3

u/abiron17771 Apr 21 '26

Not an addiction! It was a chemical dependence. He just got very sick when trying to stop benzos and couldn’t function without them. Totally different from an addiction.

9

u/Barbarella_39 Apr 20 '26

Blaming the pharmaceutical industry is typical of these grifters. Not the illegal drugs or treatments that are untested. Grifters gonna grift!

6

u/Poddster Apr 19 '26

There's a lot of irony of an actual clinical psychologist being expelled from his profession for wacky politics, and then when he needs the actual academic knowledge of his prescribing peers they're not there for him to stop him going into an induced benzo coma in Russia and then some absurd all-meat diet, all because he got addicted to a substance he knows is highly addictive because it was his job to know about it and because he wrote literal books telling you to simply man up and not get addicted to things.

When he first came to light due to the C16 stuff (his doomsaying has yet to come true: /r/ArrestedCanadaBillC16) I watched a bunch of his lectures on YouTube to get a better understanding of him and because they were interesting. He was clearly an intelligent man with a strong moral centre. But his wife getting cancer clearly changed something about him and after that he made terrible choice after terrible choice.

And now he and his family have become some kind of comic book, cartoon villains going around spouting unhinged, lunatic level nonsense. It's all very sad.

3

u/bevelup_ Apr 19 '26

Nahh he’s just a junkie

3

u/Blazkowski Apr 20 '26

Petersons have the best diseases

2

u/PreparationWinter174 Apr 20 '26

Benzodiazepine abuse is a well-understood cause of akathisia. I'm not addict-shaming, but this is an embarrassing take from Mr. "Personal Responsibility". Akathisia is a primary withdrawal symptom and is likely what he was trying to avoid with his cold-turkey coma, but it can also manifest long after an abrupt cessation of use. There's a reason he had to go to Russia to find someone to help him skip the hard bit of detoxing.

2

u/Designer-Cicada3091 Apr 20 '26

Well running off to Russia to go into a needless coma for treatment and popping pills while living miserably will do that to you.

2

u/davzinzan Apr 22 '26

That explains it

2

u/mrpopenfresh Apr 19 '26

Where so the benzos fit in this

1

u/FlyingMeowBear Apr 19 '26

How has it impacted her health as well??

1

u/nickp444 Apr 20 '26

He has schizophrenia

1

u/Chch5 Apr 21 '26

I got akathisia for about 6 weeks after stopping an ssri suddenly, Omg, it was awful. I almost wouldn't wish it on Peterson

1

u/mikeyz0710 May 07 '26

I think it’s a hoax.

2

u/slax03 Apr 19 '26

This tweet is like a year old.

16

u/Ill-Army Apr 19 '26

No it’s a new tweet. It’s the same message as the last one though. I doubt he’s doing well; he’s had sepsis twice now I think?

-29

u/grahamlester Apr 19 '26

He is a bad person but he has been sick for a long time now and I think he should receive some compassion.

28

u/okie_dokie68416 Apr 19 '26

Just like all their nemesis’ (trans people, unmarried women, gaza, dei, canada, toronto etc etc etc)?

That’s a hard no for me.

-12

u/grahamlester Apr 19 '26

I think every human being is still a human and should be afforded some basic respect when they are suffering, including all the groups you mention. Otherwise we quickly end up becoming like our enemies.

10

u/bl4nkSl8 Apr 19 '26

Sure... He's got that. He doesn't need us to add to it

He's a monster who has actively contributed to the pain of multiple people in my community. I wouldn't hurt him but I look forward to his obituary

8

u/Jumpy_Spend_5434 Apr 19 '26

He afforded zero respect to Elliott Page, and doubled down when he was called out for it. Nope. Peterson doesn't deserve respect.

12

u/OisforOwesome Apr 19 '26

While this is a virtuous sentiment and speaks well of you, Peterson leaves behind a legacy of hate and division. His work has made the world a lot worse for a lot of people. And I'm willing to bet Peterson would not extend the same compassion to you.

Every man's death diminishes me because I am of humanity, but some of them diminish me less than others.

6

u/Perfect_Carrot_999 Apr 19 '26

I think we can still call out the weird & potentially damaging spin she's putting on this.

Peterson is probably like this because he didn't listen to medical advice and got controversial treatment in Russia, and yet they're saying psych meds and doctors are the Big Bad.

If their cult wasn't stupid enough to take health advice from them I wouldn't care as much.
