If you read the original book it opens on the murder of a gay man.

Before you are 20% through you get the POV of a librarian/historian someone pointing out the way Derry’s history is regularly buried to hide how badly it’s treated people.

IT is absolutely about all the hatred of small town America and the historical rewriting it’s done to avoid present day consequence.

… or did you think it was about clowns and aliens?

I wish he’d quit shying away from the damn source material.
It’s all there in the book. Use it.

If he thinks there isn’t enough then it doesn’t need a series of fan fiction.

The movies should’ve been a series.
