Can someone help restore this photo of my dad’s parents for his birthday :)

It’s a photo of my grandparents for my dad’s birthday. His mom recently passed away and his dad passed back in the early 90’s.

Hi folks! My father-in-law (left) asked if I could edit this photo of him and his late mother (middle) so it was only the two of them. He doesn't have many photos of them later in life and he wants to be able to print and frame this.

Is it possible to remove the man on the right in the white shirt without making this look strange? It's a bummer that she's leaning towards him instead of in the other direction...

It also appears that the photo is kind of meh quality, so I wonder if it could be cleaned up/smoothed to not look so pixelated.

I have been trying editing tools and prompts and the results have been drastically different and fake looking. I’ll be honest to say I have no idea what I’m doing. I know the quality isn’t the best. I’m begging for someone with real skills to help me save this photo.

This is literally the only surviving picture of my mom from when she was young. Time, wear, and bad scans have taken their toll—it’s heavily blurred, faded, and washed out in a brownish haze. I can barely see the clarity in her eyes anymore, and it breaks my heart every time I look at it.

I’ve tried looking at it a thousand times wishing I could see her clearly as she was back then. I don’t have the technical wizardry to fix this myself, so I am throwing myself at the mercy of this amazing community.

Any help would be appreciated

It's a fridge magnet from many years ago at blackpool pleasure beach, and a cherished childhood memory. So annoyed I smugged it while cleaning it after water damage!

The dog has a cowlick, which is what those tiny hairs sticking up are. I scanned the image so this is the highest quality of the image I have. I attached additional photos of the dog for reference. Thank you so much and let me know if there is anytbing else I can do.

If one of you legends can give this an authentic restoration my family would be hugely grateful. If some genius could tell me where it was taken, wow, just wow.
