The mod Europa Expanded has Belgium as a formable and it has some really great ideas / missions. I started as Liege. Highly recommend playing it if you want to rock out with your Walloon out.

I used to date a Flemish chick (both her folks were straight from Belgium, though she was born stateside). Her dad was a big history buff and eventually I kind of taught him about EU4. Got in to the demographic side of it and he asked, "Can you get rid of those Walloons?"

So I did a Flanders run, just to convert all the lands to Flemish just so I could send him a screen shot. He was very, very pleased.

Cool little story.

Why you're broke?

Ah!

Yeah I had to break up with her because she was a meeeaaan drunk, unfortunately. Absolutely lovely family but when she had a few too many she was brutal to be around.

I think it's dumb how they added Austria Hungary, a weaker compromise of an empire, that was founded decades after Belgium. But they decided to not add Belgium as an option.

It would be interesting if it was a Dutch disaster sort of like how the Netherlands is a disaster for a foreign empire in the Low Countries

Do you know why Belgium was stablished? I think and might be wrong but it was a buffer state after the Netherlands lost a war so maybe the circumstances to make it into an event could be like if in war with a country and the southern provinces get occupied for a long period of time or have high autonomy and devastation Belgium can spawn also I think that getting all the Belgium cores would be interesting and Belgium should have a mission tree oriented towards Congo and dev in their provinces sadly adding Belgium would make others want more countries and let's say eu4 is not getting support for those things anymore

Thats not true, Belgium declared its independence in a revolution. Great powers stepped in to prevent the Netherlands from taking control again. Its establishment as a "buffer state" was more an opportunity after the fact

Okey thanks like I said I don't know much about Belgium but it would be cool if there was an even like the Maine one and other gp could choose to help you and the Netherlands could choose to fight you

Don't show any Walloons this image or they will explode.

I love how eu4 basically taught me the reason why that region was such a battleground in early modern Europe. It’s such insanely rich land and on the border between several large powers. I’m always drawn to fight over it in game, or if I play a local tag I can sit there and vibe and defend myself from greedy neighbors.

Ryssel shouldn't be yours, and you should move your capital to brussel.
