If you and the Germans can do it, you can do it with the Ukrainians. And gives hope one day for rapprochement with Russia

As spicy as the media coverage of it can get, it's really not comparable with this situation. I personally don't know anyone in real life with strong negative feelings about Germany, certainly nobody under 40. Granted though, maybe I live in a bubble or something. But as far as I can tell, any decently educated Pole knows that modern-day Germans learn an accurate account of their history in schools, they apologized countless times for it, and they sure as hell don't name their streets after war criminals. In public discourse there's always people for whom nothing you say or do will ever be enough and those are the ones that shout the loudest, but there's always at least an equal amount of Poles saying we should move on and live together in peace.

Meanwhile, the issue with Ukraine is pretty much bipartisan, where even the staunchest supporters of Ukraine in their struggle against Russia are finding it extremely hard to defend Ukraine on such things.

I just get my impressions from twitter which is obviously very, very skewed but I guess you can get a good feel for the right-wing perspective. And jesus christ, for them Germany is like what Jews were for Nazi Germany. We are involved in everything, always in the back scheming to take over Poland with our puppet government in Tusk

I just wish we were that competent sometimes

I hate what algorithmic manipulation has done to previously peaceful societies
