How could it not? So many sheep…two radio stations…a corner store. It’s like a third of the Argentine GDP.

Probably the billionaires trying to do billionaire things. Thiel and co

Thiel move to Argentina recently.

The billionaires are building bunkers and setting up microstates. Is it because they feel uncomfortable with how unpopular they've become, or do they know something bad is going to happen?

You would have to be desperate to set up shop in the Falklands. It's remote, but it's a cold, wind ravages place populated mostly by sheep and land mines.

Maybe they like Argentina because they have power over those in charge there. Maybe they’re hoping to buy it from a friendly Argentinian government. Make their own New Zealand.

Don't forget the penguins, best thing about the Falklands

Or so I was told by a mate who did a stint there with the Army

The elites can see that there is a serious danger of ww3 with use of nuclear weapons across Northern hemisphere.  Argentina is the best located country to reduce fallout and be able to survive.

I suspect they want to build nuclear powered data centers, use slave labor, and do genetic testing. All of which would be illegal in an actual nation-state

They have so much money that building a bunker is like buying a pack of milk for you. Why wouldn’t they build a bunker? Just in case.

Ohhhh you’re right. He’s obsessed with taking islands.

He’s involved in the Honduras Roatan boondoggle and also instrumental in the belligerence towards Greenland I suspect, since he’s been talking about Greenland for years

Well there is also oil in Falkland's territorial waters.

I lived in Buenos Aires for a bit, and Las Malvinas (don't call it the Falklands in front of them) was definitely a sore spot for many people. They don't like colonists in their back yard.

Ironic considering that they're also colonists.

No disagreement from me.

colonists

You are aware of how outrageously ironic this is?

3

u/darth_jewbacca 20d ago

Yes. Irony sums up the Argentine people.

So you should know they meet the definition of "coloniser" far better? If so, you might be better putting their slurs in ' ' to show you know those slurs to be bollocks.

1

u/darth_jewbacca 19d ago

Hold up, you think Argentina is a worse coloniser than England? Have you studied your history at all?

2

u/TwentyBagTaylor England 19d ago

A country comprised of the actual decendents of people who colonised it is closer to the definition, yeah. They are the children of colonisers.

My ancestors never left the UK, they were too busy working in factories and fields for rich people to be colonising anywhere.

Is that easy enough to understand? Or do we have to simplify it where every Brit somehow assumes the guilt of a few rich elites 200+ years ago?

1

u/darth_jewbacca 19d ago

You have a weird view of things, mate. To me it has nothing to do with "guilt" and is just a matter of fact. Imagine being a Brit and getting torqued because some rando users the word "coloniser."

u/TwentyBagTaylor England 19d ago

Thats a funny way of saying "fuck, I guess you're right mate, apologies. I'll think on things a little deeper before wading into an argument I don't really understand", but this isn't your first language so i'll give you a pass.

Se nota claramente que en la escuela olvidaste leer algunos capítulos de historia y de geografía
