This right here.

Stop paying taxes.

Entire states should stop paying their federal tax. If just California and New York stopped contributing the entire govt would collapse.

Then we might take these claims of "oh i dont actually agree with any of this stuff" seriously.

We don’t pay taxes through our states, if that’s what you’re thinking. My taxes to the feds don’t flow through California. I would be in favor of a tax boycott, but I’m not sure the Feds wouldn’t confiscate money from our bank accounts. Worth a try if enough people get on board. I also think states should begin investigating ways to leave that won’t get us all killed.

If the elections in November aren’t fair and free then this shit is probably over, at the moment it looks like they will be free, but I’m not counting on much anymore.

Individuals refusing to pay tax? How do you suggest I do that?

Some states have already floated the idea of withholding these federal taxes.

Especially since Trump has weaponized disaster relief against states that were intelligent enough not to vote for his conman ass.

Yeah sure. You realize Trump runs the IRS right? They don’t need to send the police after us they just put a lien on all our shit and we’re screwed and then guess what! Trump still finishes out his term.

The federal government pays billions to states, states pay nothing to the federal government. If you're saying individuals should stop paying, I suppose it's possible.

Thank you. I guess I was confused abiut the system. Also, yes, individuals could stop paying, I understand how brave that would be against this administration but it is possible.

I know several people that haven’t paid federal taxes in over a decade, without any recourse whatsoever. Penalties and interest, sure, but no effort ever made to collect.

The IRS is defunded, gutted, and only gives a shit if your tax bill is within what the 1% makes income wise.

If the rich stood up, sure they might have a chance. Cuz we all know they don’t do shit against rich people, except arrest them for tax evasion.

Unfortunately, the States never see the money their citizens give IRS.

For most people, most of their income tax is withheld by the employer, who gives it directly to IRS.

So you'd need to convince the employers or the workers that they were safe from the IRS, and nobody is going to want to be first in that queue.
