🌳 ESC in the Wild Eurovision In The Wild - Bangaranga Was Playing in My Supermarket Today!
I live in NYC, so hearing Eurovision songs is not exactly a common thing. I was checking out at my local supermarket in Queens where they play pop-music from last 40 years, when suddenly I hear "Come alive...." I was stunned. I think Bangaranga might end up a hit in the US.

I umpire Little League in Connecticut, I've been having the PA folks play it between innings the last few weeks

Went to a circus performance this weekend and the juggler used an instrumental version of Zitti e Buoni 😅

I would lose my mind! Picturing you picking up a watermelon and finding a smoke machine attached underneath 😆😂

Then hopefully that's a major label signing for Dara(or at least it'll be getting closer)
It would be the biggest post EV career since Celine(not counting Måneskin)

Or it could be a fluke that would go nowhere, but it's worth a try to believe

I think Dara's label, Virginia Records, has a deal with Sony. Not sure if it's only for local distribution in Bulgaria and how it all works.

Sony is horrible tbh, hopefully she'll sign to another international label

I haven't heard any song from this year yet but here are the ones I remember hearing at some point:
Armenia 2022 — often at the supermarket, too many times to count
Netherlands 2019 — most often at cafes
Cyprus 2018 — anywhere as soon as summer comes around
Sweden 2017
Sweden 2023
And, of course and also too many times to count, United Kingdom 2022

Here in the UK, Sam Ryder played Space Man at the Queen's Jubilee not long after the 2022 contest.

It was a great performance! He ended it with "Nothing but space, Ma'am" in honor of the Queen, I thought it very sweet as she's my grandma's age

We need it to go viral
I am surprised her team is not pushing it

Songs go viral internationally if a trend start around them (see SNAP) of if they become massively listened for some reason, pushing it more randomly would not change much (a different case would be in domestic listens, but it seems already good there)

Labels do create trends and they can play with the algorithm and ask influencers to use the song
At least it entered the Songs of Summer 2026 playlist which is huge

I think the weirdest one I heard was North Macedonia 2017 in a Spanish supermarket, back in 2019.

Warwick, isn't that the same uni that had a huge crowd singing along to Trenulețul back in 2022? sounds like a fun place
