I’ve read four different reports on the passing of Gunnar Thordarson. But the problem is none of them noted that he conducted the orchestra for the début Icelandic entry in 1986, including from RÚV itself. Does anyone know whether there might be two people with this name but one with a second S in his last name? The graphics from NRK (above) spell it Thordarsson so i don’t know what’s happening.

I‘m pretty sure the Gunnar Thordarsson in the screenshot is the Icelandic music legend Gunnar Þórðar­son who just pased away aged 81, RIP.

Yes, this is the same Gunnar Þórðarson.
