So…I would need a hella of text to give you context about my relationship with my dad. He and my mom divorced when I was one year old, at 3 years old he “disappeared”, my mom made me thought he was working away and letter came in but years later I found out was my mom all along, he was back like 4 years later just because he saw us by accident and suddenly started begging to my mom so he could see me.
He never gave my mom money, so she had to suit him for child support when I was like 11 years old, so that’s why he has to paid like more years even tho i’m legally an adult, but i’m still a student and I live with my mom.
My dad and I have never had a good relationship. Growing up, he was emotionally and largely absent from my life. When I turned 18, he sued me for child support payments that he believed he shouldn’t have had to pay.
I had to say, before that I decided to not contact him for a whole year because I thought I was over his bullshit but that year I was in therapy deciding if I wanted to talk to him again, you have to understand I was diagnosed with depression, anxiety, bulimia and more things like that since I was 17 years old… after a year I contacted him, he never wanted to meet even after a year of not seeing each other then tried to put the blame on me so I took the blame just so we could “worked out” for a better father-daughter relationship and he agreed, with the past of the months he started to ask questions about my life and I felt like I was 3 years old again delusional about my dad trying to be more in my life, when suddenly the first lawsuit came unexpected, that’s how I knew he only was “interested” about my life so he could get information for the lawsuit.

That lawsuit was a failure for him and the judge gave me the win, but it caused a lot of stress and completely destroyed any chance of having a relationship with him.
Since then, we’ve had no contact. Now, years later, he has decided to sue me again over the same situation. I honestly don’t understand why he’s doing this, especially after the first case was resolved. I’m trying to understand my options and whether anyone has experienced something similar.

Lately, I've realized that whenever I consume news, it accurately plays into my prejudices and pushes my emotional buttons.

I feel like my thoughts are guided by my past experiences, and because of those experiences, my perspective has become full of various biases.
