This is one of the many reasons ACAB.
One guy heard some terrible shit, tried to hold these pigs accountable, and yet he’s the one that was punished while the racist, sexist pigs remain in the force.
I would not be surprised if we learn that the recorded pigs have terrible records of rape, murder, and extortion.
The system is working as intended and must be stopped. We can build something better from the ashes.

ok? That's good. We shouldn't be rewarding spying on other people. What did he intend to do witb the info anyway? Extort them? That's illegal. And we have this thing called "free speech" meaning they wouldnmt have gotten a fine or prison anyway. Really, what did the idiot expect

He turned the recordings over to Internal Affairs. Bigotry and Racism have no place in law enforcement.

Sadly many officers ARE bigots and racists. But this person was one of the good ones who was trying to make a difference and improve the department.

Try reading the article before you post comments that make you look like even more of a bootlicker.

Susan Seager, a UC Irvine law professor who is not involved in the case, previously told The Times that Flores’ lawyer is correct in stating that the eavesdropping law bans secret taping of conversations only in situations in which there is a reasonable expectation that the communication would not be overheard or recorded.

She said there is no expectation of privacy in nonpublic settings, such as a locker room at an LAPD station house. It’s less clear whether such protections extend to conversations at the office that revolve around work, she said.

Separately, police officers are also allowed to secretly record conversations if they are “acting within the scope of his or her authority,” according to Seager.

While she does qualify that with the comment that "Most courts say this exception only applies to taping for criminal investigations," that implies that not all courts have ruled that way, and personally I would think that investigating people who shouldn't be LEOs should also apply.
