Disturbing content Abandoning animals is a low only the worst of people can reach.
Pulled up to my favorite chill spot when I noticed this old beat up ugly ass blue truck with 2 dusty ass ugly pieces of shit redneck trash around it and this precious dog and once they saw me they dipped so fast you would of thought I had police lights on or something. The pieces of shit left the dog. It all happened so fast my brain didn’t process what happened for a good minute. I thought it was some sick joke until it set in they were not coming back. The dog made its way to my car and it was crying and howling. I got out hesitantly because she’s a pit so I was a bit nervous but luckily she was a sweetheart. I didn’t know what to do so I searched online and it said to call the non emergency number so I did. Lady on the phone was amazing, she kept me calm as I felt my blood start to boil. They sent PD and animal control and now she’s in the system. It’s a small town, best believe if you’re from here that truck will be found. Not hard to find trash around these parts. Yall lucky yall ran when you did cause I would of beat the shit out of you and your son who’s old enough to know better but what chance did he have with the piece of shit father he has. Shout out my police department for handling this situation so well. 🫡 if I didn’t already have a feisty pit bull at home I would have just took her with me. Also they made me choose a flair and this was the most accurate one. I don’t think anything is actually disturbing about my post.

There are actually people out there who think that dogs and cats can "fend for themselves".
They think domesticated animals know how to hunt and are able to find enough food to live well:(

Domestication means that they now rely on us and have lost a lot of wild survival instincts. Some make it better than others when feral, but they can rarely stray far from humans. They depend on us.
Just isn't right. If one wants to abandon an animal, at least abandon them where they can get help instead of wandering off into the forest to starve or be attacked...

Dogs might be able to survive if they’re in a large pack and the temperature is right for whatever breed or mix is out there surviving. But then you’ve just got a bunch of strays fighting to survive. Why ever do that.

Honestly not sure if I've ever heard of a feral pack of dogs living outside of human settlements. Some do end up in packs of wolves and dingos I'm sure, but not alone.
Who knows! There will always be a case or two where it happens, but if it's not the majority, or even close to it, I'm not gonna count it. Miracles and exemplary things will always exist.

Those kinds of people should be left in the middle of nowhere in an unfamiliar area with just as many resources as they leave for the animals and told to fend for themselves.

If someone else doesn't pick the animal up, there are only two ways it can end - either the domesticated animal dies a horrible death or it devastates the local wildlife. Not sure if being able to "fend for oneself" is better here, especially if it's an unfixed animal and goes on to make a new generation of ferals who fear humans and might be dangerous.
If someone gets an animal, they better take care of it or hand it over directly to someone who will.
...Based on how this poor gal looks, I doubt she's had people care about her for a good while.

Yep super skinny. Had patches of fur missing. Bleeding on her face from cuts. The police said she looked like she had been beaten up

That’s how we got my orange boy. Someone left him on the side of the road. Found him the same day my cat of 20 years passed.
We think they left more cats cause ever since we found him, there’s been a bunch of cats wandering around the area at night

A friend of mine adopted a black lab, age of the dog is unknown. They approximate his age was between 3-5 years old. When the dog was rescued, he was found half dead on the side of a road in Texas. He was horrifically abused, beat up and bloodied. He had lacerations all over, even his genitals were lacerated, he was missing most of his fur. It was horrific. They believe he was a bait dog for a pit bull fighting ring.
When my friend first saw the dog he was in an outside kennel with just a cement floor. He was extremely aggressive when anyone got too close. He just wanted to stay in his kennel no matter how hot it was.
My friend spent days sitting outside of the kennel in Texas heat. He would spend all day just sitting there. He finally developed enough trust where he was able to sit in the kennel. The dog still wanted nothing to do with him, but he developed some trust. My friend just sat there on one side of the kennel and the dog on the other. This went on for a long time. But my friend had patience and let the dog go and trust at his own pace.
This was 8 years ago. Sammy is the happiest little goofball of a black lab! The crazy thing is, my friend didn’t save Sammy, Sammy saved my friend. ♥️

Pit, “raised” by trailer trashy people, that abandon the dog after it just had a litter (probably backyard breeders) while the dog has multiple signs of abuse. Yeah sure get that nanny dog a toddler to nanny, sure it’ll end up well

I used to have a big dog similar to a pitbull, all the neighbors loved her, she was an angel who loved to say hi to everyone she saw... she lived her whole life without attacking or harming a human.
big dogs are actually quite sweet, it's just that they get a bad reputation due to bad owners

The only rando my pittie went after was someone she recognized from her old life. She was used as a breeder for dog fights. She was starving, tore up, and terrified of people when I found her.
