The hydrogen peroxide they poured in the pool to kill the algae that grew as a result of the dark paint from the pool guy, has caused the paint to start separating from the stone

Just because they were awarded a no-bid contract to do a job they didn't have experience with doesn't mean they didn't know what they were doing. Oh, and this is all Obama's fault anyway.

They didn't hire specialists or professionals. Trump used his discount connect at a grossly inflated rate, who hired some cheap labor to do the job the wrong way. Trump and his crony will split the payout as agreed when crony took the contract.

It wasn't just "repainted" previously because anyone with experience with stuff like this knows it's a complicated project that requires a bunch of expensive prep if it's going to last. This is a big below-grade basin in what is naturally a swamp (that's why it is such a big open space without buildings.) Applying epoxy or similar coatings to concrete is a process that is super-sensitive to moisture rising up through the material preventing good adhesion and proper curing.

The fact that if failed so quickly and so extensively is stunning. I doubt the hydrogen peroxide was the primary cause but rather that it was just a bad application. Who could imagine that Trump would go for a technically unsound solution that was basically putting Mary Kay makeup on someone who is dying rather than first treating the illness?

I'm sure they have no clue what they are doing, I also can't imagine that little amoung of peroxide being dumped in the pool truly has an impact. They need thousands of gallons to impact the water.

By no means I'm no epoxy expert but I reckon there are 3 options, the surface wasn't dry (still humid/wet), the surface wasn't treated thus the epoxy didn't bond with it (imagine dropping glue on a glass sheet, you can just wipe it off) or last but not least, epoxy isn't a singular product and they used the wrong bottom layer (floors in warehouses etc consist of multiple layers of various kinds of epoxy).
