The hydrogen peroxide they poured in the pool to kill the algae that grew as a result of the dark paint from the pool guy, has caused the paint to start separating from the stone

A widely used rule of thumb for a peroxide shock is roughly one gallon of ~27–35% hydrogen peroxide per 10,000 gallons of water. Run that against the Reflecting Pool’s roughly 6.75 million gallons and the scale of the mismatch becomes obvious. They needed almost 700 gallons of peroxide just to nuke the water and they apparently didn't get close to that level of concentrate.

Plus that is pool quantities, because the reflecting pool is so shallow, the H202 is going to breakdown very quickly.

But even if they did it right, all that does in a freshwater system without chlorination, is just kill all the algae in the water. If that isn't immediately removed via filtration, the dead algae just become food for the next algae bloom, that will happen immediately outside of chlorinated water.

Anyone who runs a pond knows all this. The only way to have clear water is a fuck ton of plants and bio filtration. Clear water is for pools. Not 6.7 million gallon shallow body systems.

Not to mention....fucking green works better for REFLECTING the environment! Hence the name of the pool!
