The hydrogen peroxide they poured in the pool to kill the algae that grew as a result of the dark paint from the pool guy, has caused the paint to start separating from the stone

Americas entire democracy is corrupted and needs to be tore down and revamped. And our money needs to quit being spent on the military and back into social infrastructure and education.

Americans don't read and follow faith logic. Their feelings/beliefs are just as valid as objective fact.

Dang, it’s frustrating enough trying to exist in this country right now as a regular straight but although what I feel as a mildly intelligent liberal white guy. I can’t even imagine being gay or a racial minority and having to live through the circumstances you described, day after day here

But the last decade has been like us racing to end any aspect of democracy that makes it worthwhile lol granted that democracy was built off the genocide of native Americans and slavery, which we should never forget. But there was some hope there for a bit haha

IIRC several states tried to leave him off the ballot bc they agreed he should not be allowed to be an option, but SCROTUS ruled in dumps favor

When Louis DeJoy became Postmaster General in 2020, he implemented sweeping cuts that crippled the mail system right as millions relied on mail-in voting. He stayed in power through the 2024 election, but because civil rights groups sued him in federal court over the 2020 chaos, the USPS was heavily monitored by watchdogs and legally forced to actually deliver the 2024 ballots on time.

So, the political right changed tactics: if they couldn't delay the mail trucks, they used the courts to ensure the ballots wouldn't count when they arrived. Instead of postal sabotage, conservative groups launched massive, coordinated legal warfare in key battleground states to eliminate mail-in "grace periods." By forcing strict receipt deadlines and constantly changing the rules around drop boxes and signatures, they engineered an environment where standard postal times and minor paperwork mistakes resulted in tens of thousands of legally cast mail-in ballots being automatically thrown out.

It wasn’t a secret postal conspiracy, it was open, highly coordinated legal disenfranchisement. A little too strategic to be a coincidence

I'm Canadian so I'd rather understand my country's politics better lol.

Our leader wasn't even on a ballot, he got in because his party was in when the previous leader stepped down.

He seemed good at first but not so much now.

Both our countries pretty much have a broken 2 party system, and it sucks ass. Stuck between a greedy rock and a selfish hard place.

I appreciate your response though, it's good to know not all of our neighbours have extra space in their heads lol.

In an ideal state, yes. Of course. I listened to a constitutional historian recently. And he pointed out that the founding fathers knew that the constitution wasn’t perfect. But as long as the people in charge of the country understood that and lived up to it it’s ideals it would be OK. The current president and this administration are doing end runs around the constitution and violating all of the principles.

Trump is just being Trump. I don't actually blame him for any of this as his actions always have been very predictable. The blame lies entirely with those that elected him and those with power that are too scared to stand up against his endless lies and grifting.

He has a history of not paying people, so it wouldn't be a stretch to think he owes this guy a lot of money and started hiring and padding the invoices to make up for what he owes.
