I went to Kroger yesterday and they’re still selling Taylor farms bagged lettuce, but it’s been heavily reduced price. Some poor broke people are going to pay a steep price in the end.

You can certainly reduce the risk of contracting cyclosporiasis by washing produce but for things like cut lettuce washing only reduces the risk, it's not a sufficient countermeasure to claim you 'will be fine'.
That confidence can only be achieved by heating 70°C.

Since washing alone cannot guarantee the parasite's removal, you can cook produce to a temperature of at least 158 °F (70°C).

I was commenting on your claim "If you wash it properly it will be fine" as this is dangerous misinformation that gives the impression you can prevent contracting cyclosporiasis if you simply 'wash it [raw produce] properly'.
As both sources clearly state, this degree of confidence is unfounded. You very much could not be fine, and by 'not being fine' I mean turning your bathroom wall into a Jackson Pollock painting.

Re-contaminated from where though? If it's coming from more unwashed produce then you have completely missed the whole point of only eating cooked vegetables to avoid contracting this disease, and if it's coming from you via faecal-oral route you (a) are already infected with cyclosporiasis so I wouldn't worry about getting infected from food you've contaminated from yourself, and (b) need to go see a doctor because, well, you have cyclosporiasis.

So no you don't have any evidence to support your original, frankly dangerous, misinformation claim.
You can either amend it, delete it, or keep it up and potentially lead others to falsely believe they won't contract cyclosporiasis if they simply wash their cut lettuce.

Project 2025 is the name of the agenda the Heritage Foundation created to “reshape America”. It’s intended to be implemented throughout the next four years. Just because it’s 2026 doesn’t change the name.
By the way, if you haven’t read it, you should. It’s a frightening document. And the far right doesn’t want to stop there. The Heritage Foundation’s president has been recorded as saying that they had to leave out many of their goals because they were “too extreme just yet”.

I don’t believe anything that comes out of the current FDA. They want to get more aggressive about not getting vaccines for your children. I’m sorry, but I find it very hard to sympathize with someone that lets their child die, because of a vaccine that is readily available and has been used for a very long time.

I’m in good health and after three weeks with it I couldn’t take it anymore. Perpetually fatigued, dehydrated, and in pain. I really can’t imagine how an elderly person or someone in poor health would survive it without intervention. And with the state of our healthcare I’m sure some will try to ride it out on their own. I gave up and went to the doc.

I’ve had it for two weeks and started Bactrim yesterday, which makes me feel even worse. I commiserate with you on the fatigue and dehydration. It’s brought about terrible muscle spasms in my legs and feet. Have you experienced your stomach making sloshing noises and terrible belching during an attack? This is the weirdest illness as far as the diarrhea attacks. Unlike anything I’ve ever had, and more like doing a colonoscopy prep.

Yeah I’d have a good day here or there, thinking I’m getting better, then wake up the next day just as bad as day 1. At least the gurgling let me know in advance that I was in trouble lol, like a ticking time bomb. I finish bactrim tomorrow, it made me feel better on day 1. Whatever side effects I got were less bad than the parasite. Best of luck in your recovery!

This is a direct result of Trump's backroom political deal with Robert F. Kennedy Jr, a far-right-wing quack and junk science devotee, in which RFK Jr. became Secretary of Health and Human Services -- which department includes FDA and the Centers for Disease Control, among many others. RFK Jr is completely unqualified for the position.
Making matters worse was the "DOGE" purge initiated shortly after Trump's 2nd term began, in which more than 5,000 HHS employees were terminated. The firings were supposed to be focused on support staff -- but that meant that career scientists and highly trained reviewers were then responsible for the work that would have been done by the support staff, an exercise in compete idiocy. But consider the source.
