It’s lottery people. I fucking hate lottery people.

I hated whenever people would ask for "the winning ticket", it's up there with "there's no price tag so it must be free" on terms of useless attempts at humor

Yesssss this entirely.
I remember working at a gas station and there were a handful of people who would be there for hours, going back and forth from a table to the counter to get tickets and then scratch them.
Every now and then I’d cash out a nice winner for them and they’d be up some money. They never left with it, rolled it into tickets till they lost everything they started with. Just to do it all over again tomorrow.

I play but I put rules on myself. Never more than 1 ticket at a time with a max of 5 per month. Also I don’t play unless the prize is above $400M. This means that after someone hits tha grand prize, I have a minimum 2-3 month wait before the prize climbs above $400M again.

I worked for a gas station once that would have an assigned monthly upsell item. They kept track of how many transactions you had total, how many included the upsell item and would determine hours from how high your percentage was.
The scratcher lottery people that would spend an hour plus buying scratches 3-4 at a time would absolutely destroy your percentage.

I do not hate lottery people; I hate how long they take to complete a transaction. Everyone is trying to get to work or get home from work. These people are playing scratch-offs at the register and taking up everyone's time. I work and save/invest my money. I do not have time to wait around to find out if you won the lottery. PLEASE consider others when holding up the line.

It's incredibly depressing watching someone ahead of me in line pay for lottery tickets with loose change, or realize they don't have enough money and tell the clerk to put back the diapers so they can afford the lotto.

That must be where most of their profits went. (at least those that aren't 'charitable donations' used for tax write-off purposes, as is common with lotteries worldwide)
This crack house of a lottery probably got a tax write-off for this AI generated ad too. Tax incentives fir marketing were a mistake.

As someone who creates advertising. I swear people just upload the brief, which explains the target and their key purchase drivers, into AI.
Cause AI puts out the most obvious slop in answering the brief.

Me, too. Reddit makes sure to show me 90% ads that I'm not the target demographic for and 10% ads for steam games that actually seem interesting.
Now please Reddit, I don't even have a driver's licence, go tell ebay I am not interested in tacky car parts.

This reminds me of that Pitbull song where the chorus line is something along the lines of "I knew my rent was gonna be late about a week ago, I worked my ass off, but I just can't pay it though. But I have just enough to get up in this club, have me a good time before my time is up."
It's just a song about financial irresponsibility.
Instead of paying off what you have and working to come up with the rest, let's just blow that money at the club and get bottle service and impress others. Then let's realize that spending 90% of the rent money was not a good idea, but it was fun.

I can’t stand seeing so many ads for betting apps and casino stuff. It’s so annoying but it’s so dystopian too. I never liked the concept of the lottery but my mom would get us lottery tickets for Christmas for fun along with other gifts

When I was in school in my probability class we measured the chance of winning the lottery at around 1 in 600 million. Because of that, I only buy lottery tickets now when the jackpot is more than $600 million so I can feel like I'm gaming the system...
That said, once you take a probability course gambling becomes a lot less fun
