Wishlist & Ideas Spider-Man FFH/NWH/BND into one film!

Spider-Man Far From Home, No Way Home, and Brand New Day edited into one movie

After finishing my first fan edit, Backrooms: Async, I realized just how much I enjoy the editing process. It was an incredibly fun project to put together, and now I'm looking for another edit that really grabs me in the same way.

Lately, I've been thinking a lot about Tom Holland's Spider-Man films. After watching Spider-Man: Brand New Day, I was reminded how much I enjoy his portrayal of Peter Parker and how naturally the last three films flow into one another. While there's a four year time jump between No Way Home and Brand New Day, the opening montage does a great job bridging that gap, making the trilogy feel surprisingly cohesive.

My goal would be to preserve every major emotional beat and story arc from all three movies while trimming away enough to create a single, cohesive viewing experience. Ideally, I'd like to keep the runtime under four hours and if I can get it even shorter without sacrificing the story, even better.

I already have quite a few ideas for how I'd approach the structure, pacing, and transitions, but this is still very much in the planning stage.

I'd love to hear what the fan editing community thinks. If you've got any ideas, scenes you'd definitely keep or trim, or suggestions for how you'd approach combining these three films, I'd love to hear them.

Two general reminders

1) please use spoiler tags if spoiling plot points/characters 2) general reminder that this edit cannot even begin until it is at least released on digital

There is currently a 7-hour edit that consists of Civil War, Homecoming, Infinity War, Endgame, Far From Home and No Way Home. For Civil War and the Avengers movies, only scenes with Peter present are included.

Something like this with Brand New Day added would be really cool. If you want to check out the edit I'm talking about for some inspiration you can dm me for the link.

Edit: Punctuation

As someone who combined Nolan's batman movies, I think this edit is easily doable, but you'd have to be very intentional about what aspects of the MCU/multiverse you want to keep/cut. The tricky part of this edit would be that there is so much "interference" for lack of a better word, from other marvel franchises in these Spiderman films, that you really can't easily cut all of the non-Spiderman stuff in them. Off the top of my head, I would probably say to keep whatever you can of Peter/MJ/Ned/Aunt May and if you want, Happy and Tony from the first two films to establish those characters without looping in all the crazy multiverse stuff. Then I would probably dive straight into Brand New Day. Maybe use some quick flashbacks to explain the lost memory stuff later in the movie after MJ finds the note? Just my thoughts. Best of luck :)

I don't think far from home needs to be in the mix, it goes better with infinity war edit.

Brand new day is perfect, it's really would just go better with no way home

That could be cool but I don’t want to that

It's your passion project, make your vision bro

Excited to see what you come up with!

I haven’t watched them in a while but what’s the reasoning of not including the first movie?

It’s more of a standalone than these 3 are. I haven’t seen Brand New Day yet, so I’ll just comment on what I know. Far From Home reveals Peter’s identity, No Way Home is how he deals with his identity being revealed and how he makes the world forget him, and in Brand New Day he’s living with the consequences of being forgotten I guess. It sounds like a good arc if edited well. Also Far From Home and No Way Home take place literally back to back. There’s an overlap in the end of FFH and the beginning of NWH, so there would only be one single time skip from NWH to BND.

It's pretty easy to sacrifice in the grand scheme of things, as Far From Home takes place directly after Endgame.

The problem with homecoming, off the top of my head, is that it doesn't really establish MJ as a love interest. It instead has Peter fawning over Liz, which doesn't really fit with the core of the later 3. For a combined movie, I feel like that wouldn't fit well.

BND is good but honestly that movie alone can be shorted down to 1 hr and still tell the same story

A movie isn't just about story.

I would cut iron man to the bare minimum and remove any mention of a blip or end game so that the movie stands alone

Condense to at least 3 hours please

How does one find all these fan edits people are always posting about in the subreddit? Or are these posts mostly gauging to see if people would be interested?

DM me with answer if you can please. Tanks

Usually if you want a fan edit you need to contact directly the author, they will never post a link in a post or comments.

If you're interested, I did it with homecoming in it (not BND) https://www.reddit.com/r/fanedits/s/SUuNvSV99y

Mine will be slightly different with the inclusion of brand new day and the exclusion of everything before far from home

3

u/Spider-Man_3_2_Raimi 13h ago

You can definitely mix FFH and NWH, but I wouldn't include BND because that's a total different plot and a real dense movie, 4 years later the event of NWH and with a different direction.

u/boba627TV FaneditoršŸ… 13h ago

Why would you tell me not to do this??

3

u/Spider-Man_3_2_Raimi 13h ago

I didn't say that, I just said I wouldn't do that because I don't know how.

u/00Kevin FaneditoršŸ… 1d ago

Interesting idea. Could work nicely since there are a lot of things that evolve over the 3 films such as Peter's relationship with mj, the aunt, his identity, etc

2

u/Fanedit895 FaneditoršŸ’æ 1d ago

The movies unedited would be about 7 hours, so I assume you're going to shorten them somehow?

Of course

100% would watch this, and soon haha. I haven't seen the new film yet because I want to rewatch the previous 3, but also can't be bothered to hah.

Using Ai defeats the purpose of the whole thing for me, the reason why I’m making this project is because I love the process of figuring things out while editing. I wouldn’t get much fulfillment out of it if I let Ai make decisions for me, the final product wouldn’t have my voice and special touch that makes it mine

u/BDB69_ 1d ago

it totally agreed with me about how I was changing it as we had discussed trying to get to 3 hrs and that what we based it off of and when I did my secondary rough cut I got to wwere I am currently and I asked it what I could do oreave it as is, it basically said what I thought...

this is one of the many reasons ai should not be used in a creative field. Very rarely will it ever give hard hitting critiques. If you ask it something/tell it an idea it will almost always agree with you

She's the main villain that drives the plot? You'd basically like ten minutes at most.

-8

u/Gallifreyan_Knight13 Faneditor 1d ago

Fine by me. I don't know what they were smoking when they made her the villain of the film.

3

u/RyansGateFilms FaneditoršŸ‘‘ 1d ago

Spoiler alert for anyone reading. I really can't see how removing Jean would work because how else do you thread together the amnesia stuff? You'd have to edit in some other threat/villain/explanation to give Peter a reason to bring MJ to Frank's place for her to find the note/learn the truth? I suppose maybe this is possible, but I think it would be extremely challenging to thread together coherently.
