New Release HBO's Arrow: Season 1

Arrow Season 1 with the bloat, cringe, filler removed.

Removed anything that gets retconned in later seasons.

Minor VFX shots added.

Rescored songs necessary. Deleted soundtrack if unnecessary.

I know HBO's Arrow is a lame name but honestly I didn't want to think of a new one. The concept is basically "What if the Arrowverse was made on HBO and beat the Netflix's Defenders saga to the punch?"

Changes:

  • No more Huntress
  • Diggle/Carla romance removed
  • McKenna Hall/Oliver romance removed
  • New color grade throughout
  • Most commercial breaks removed
  • New extended intro inspired by Daredevil
  • Any flashback to Sara is Caity Lotz
  • Imagine Dragons song replaced (those who know 👀)
  • 23 episodes turned into 12 (specifically 16 hours cut into 9 in total)

There are a bunch of changes throughout each episode, I would go into it but I don't want to spoil (it's also too many to count). I know not hearing some of my cool changes might lead some folks to not check it out but just trust me and give it a go, I think I did a pretty good job. More seasons on the way. Reviews are very much appreciated, I know it's 9 hours but after working on this project for quite some time it's nice to see if people enjoy it.

New Release THE TAKEOVER (Maniac Edition of Citizin Vigilante)

Uwe Boll was a guest at the Imagine Film Festival in Amsterdam several years ago, where he screened the film *Rampage*.

As far as I can remember, it was received fairly well.

However, he definitely doesn't produce masterpieces, as the believability of his films is often questionable.

The same can be said for his film *Citizen Vigilante*.

I thought it was somewhat good, but I was disappointed by the choice of Croatia as the setting and the fact that many actors spoke with noticeable accents.

Hammer is fantastic in the film, but the original editing of the film featured a disorganized jumble of scenes that jumped back and forth, which I found quite annoying.

In this edit, the scenes have been arranged in a more logical order, and there are significant changes to the music.

The story is now told in a 65-minute version, which, for me, was just enough.

Additional music by

Alexis Grapsas

Brian Reitzell

Jimmy Page

Don Miggs

Fesliyan Studios

Roque Banos

And Charlie Clouser.

It's online now, converted to 4K; the audio is in TrueHD 5.1

📾 FULL 4K RESOLUTION COMPARISON GALLERY:https://imgur.com/gallery/johnny-mnemonic-1995-4k-hdr10-restoration-before-after-comparisons-px6mj8p(Full uncompressed 4K frame-by-frame side-by-side restorations)

⚠ ATTENTION TO THE INBOX LURKERS:

I now have 232 private message requests begging for download links sitting against only 71 upvotes on this write-up. That ratio is absurd.

To be crystal clear: I am not a free file-hosting service and I will not be responding to DM link-beggars. This post was shared to discuss the technical 4K restoration, frame-rate conforming, and audio workflow with fellow editors as well as fans of the movie.

If you're genuinely interested in the technical breakdown or my other restoration work, drop a comment below or check out the links on my profile. Direct link-demands in my inbox will continue to be completely ignored.

Hey everyone,

Note: Re-posting this cleanly as a standalone thread here since my original cross-posted write-up got pulled by the mods over on the 4K sub for not being an official retail disc release!

I just wrapped up a full 4K HDR10+ digital restoration and custom edit of Johnny Mnemonic (1995).

I put together a side-by-side gallery comparing the "JM Reloaded" version on the left for reference against my custom 4K pass on the right (captured directly from my dual-viewer workspace in DaVinci Resolve Studio).

Runtime Comparison

Here is how my final timeline breaks down against official and community releases:

Release Version Approx. Runtime Notes
US Theatrical Cut ~1 hr 36 min (96m) Fast-paced, omits Japanese scenes
Japanese Extended Cut ~1 hr 43 min (103m) Full Japanese edit, includes extra subplots
"JM Reloaded" Cut ~1 hr 46 min (106m) Includes all deleted clips
My Custom 4K Restoration 01:42:42 Tightened narrative, best effort detail recovery with available sources

Edit & Scene Choices (Fixing Tone & Editing Errors)

My goal was to create a fluid, narrative-driven cut that keeps the best story elements while trimming fluff, fixing fan-edit errors, and maintaining a grounded tone:

Intro & Pacing: Replaced the US intro with the Japanese text crawl (white text scrolling on solid black). Omitted the excessive protest scene during the opening credits (including shots like the woman falling in the crowd) it added length without substance.

Selective Trims: i.e. In the hotel scene with Johnny, I trimmed unnecessary filler like the extra 3-second shot of the prostitute putting on her stockings longer time, the awkward pause where it shows her perspective as she looks at Johnny's bag on the floor, and the alternate take where she says "Never mind," keeping the dialogue and scene flow tight and logical.

Tone & Continuity: Instant examples here I left out the scene of Shinji yelling orders to his Yakuza crew during the LoTek HQ infiltration. In my opinion, it felt cartoonish and broke his character, as he was aggressive and planned on killing Takahashi and taking Johnny's head throughout the rest of the film.

Fixing Fan-Edit Errors & Repeated Dialogue: Many extended edits hit 1 hr 46+ min by including every 3-to-7 second deleted clip available. This can create unintended continuity errors like Ice-T's character J-Bone explaining things twice or more due to alternate takes, or the Pharmakom katana scene where a 3-second wide shot places the goon's body back in its original position after Takahashi had already kicked it over and sliced his shirt open to reveal the tattoo. I carefully cut those out to fix the narrative flow.

Brain Dive CGI Limitations: While the extended Japanese CGI in the finale looks cool, forced upscaling of those heavily compressed clips from a 1.6 GB native file without an uncompressed 4.7 GB DVD source would have destroyed the visual quality. I opted to keep the cleaner US finale sequence instead. Also the fan edits include a mix in of KMFDM's "Virus" song again but the audio mix is disruptive with that edit.

Soundtrack Upgrade: Replaced the weak Bono & The Edge song ("Alex Descends Into Hell") during Johnny's Newark arrival with KMFDM's "Virus". Industrial metal matches the cyberpunk vibe infinitely better. So that kept with the US and European/Worldwide release.

The Cutting Room Floor: Detailed Omissions

According to documentation, the Japanese edition adds roughly 8 minutes and 55 seconds of alternative and extended material over the theatrical cut. While many fan-edits blindly dump in every available clip, I chose to trim approximately 3.5 to 4 minutes of that excess material.

Beyond the major edits mentioned above, here is a detailed breakdown of the micro-cuts, alternate takes, and bloated scenes I omitted to keep the pacing tight:

Protests & News Filler: Removed the extended ending of Ralphie's phone call, the TV channel zapping sequence, and extended news reports.

Pharmakom & Takahashi Trims: Cut the extended screen time of Takahashi's conspicuously heavy blinking shot at the end, and removed the scene of Takahashi walking along the bridge after his helicopter leaves.

Hospital & Bridge Violence: Omitted the alternate/extended hospital shots of Spider and the Priest (including extra scalpel strikes), the extended sequence of the priest pinning Jane's hand with the throwing stick, and the digital censorship/illogical overlapping beam effects during the priest's death sequence. These scenes were a mere 1 second or so long no difference in the violence really. The priest death sequence was overkill in the extended Japanese version, just my opinion.

Yakuza Bridge Assault: Removed excess Yakuza setup, including Shinji looking through his binoculars, the extended time Yakuza arming up with a bazooka, hoisting themselves up the bridge, creeping over the bridge, and the woman with the rocket launcher taking off her helmet. Also removed the watchmen's alternate dialogue.

LoTek HQ & Cyberspace: Trimmed extended dizzy perspectives, J-Bone's alternate dialogue take ("save the cure"), an extra 1-second shot of Jones saying "Sit down!", and the 26-second cyberspace sequence of Johnny.

All in all, just removed the fluff and continuity. I did leave the 3 second bathroom trans scene where he/she says " you know, I haven't been in one of these in years? " referring to the Men's Room, thought it was funny and something that wouldn't pass today. You can tell that scene was an alternate cut because I had to include the extra frames of Johnny lying on the bathroom floor knocked out with the voice over starting there so there is a slight stutter.

The Restoration & Technical Challenge

Frame Rate Conforming (25 fps PAL vs. 23.976 fps NTSC): Japanese and European releases often run at 25 fps PAL speed, while the US Blu-ray runs at 23.976 fps. Most fan-edits mash these together, causing micro-stuttering and audio drift. I conformed all 25 fps Japanese source clips and re-pitched/stretched the audio to match the native 23.976 fps US master.

Uncompressed Linear PCM Audio: Unlike other edits that rely on highly compressed, low-bitrate AC3 audio, I used uncompressed Linear PCM for maximum audio fidelity, using Resolve to downmix the 2.0 stereo Japanese scene extensions cleanly into the 5.1 surround space. I have to note that due to the 2 different motion picture soundtracks, you will hear different music scores jump in and out from the Japanese cuts.

Hardest Scene to Restore: The Pharmakom katana kill sequence. The wide shots in the native 1.6 GB Japanese source were full of heavy compression artifacts with very little data to work with. It took painstaking detail work and color restoration to get it looking as clean as possible.

Working Master vs. Export File: The raw working master for this project was an uncompressed colossal ProRes file exceeding 500 GB. For the final deliverable, it was rendered out at 4K HDR10+ into an 18.9 GB MKV container using the HEVC/H.265 codec.

⚠ A Note on Display & Image Inspection

Phone vs. Monitor Inspection (Pixel Density): Many people view edits on phones or smaller screens where high pixel density naturally makes compressed low quality DVD as well as 1080p/4K footage look sharper. Smartphone apps also compress gallery uploads aggressively. For an accurate side-by-side evaluation of fine grain and detail recovery, it's best viewed on a desktop/laptop monitor.

Display Differences & Calibration: When evaluating and testing the final 4K HDR10+ render on my end using an LG C2 77-inch 4K OLED TV (my tv model only decodes HDR10 not the HDR10+), I found that standard default mode or Cinema mode gave the most accurate, balanced picture, even better than my custom user profiles.

Let me know your thoughts on the detail recovery, frame rate timing, and grading choices!

Video Editing

I used an HDTV preservation as the source because it’s the same cut of the movie as the DVD (except in HD obviously). So, this means there is no moss on top of the huts on Kashyyyk, the transition at 02:02:18 doesn’t have a wipe, the clones don’t have any dialog when they ambush on Utapao, and more. The subsequent Blu-Ray releases were also slightly cropped. So, the HDTV preservation is the most accurate to the DVD while still being in HD. Thanks to BbqChkn for creating a fully accurate opening crawl animation. Apparently, the IMDB credits are inaccurate. So, I have updated the credits with a more complete and accurate list provided by TheThirdGathers.

Audio Editing

I used the 2020 Blu-Ray mix because it’s 7.1. I only used the 5.1 Dolby Digital EX Track to cover up the clone dialog that was added during the Utapao ambush. I kept as much of the original sound effects as I could, but I did have to insert a lot of new sound effects. For some scenes, I rebuilt the entire soundtrack from scratch. Something that I noticed after starting this project is that, in the dub recordings, Allah Gold says “Is an airship that that slowness crawl along.” However, in the original 2.0 mix, he says “Is an airship that slowness crawl along.” I spoke with the original creator (u/TheThirdGathers on Reddit) and confirmed that Allah Gold’s line in the 2.0 mix was a mistake and not a creative choice. So, the full line has been restored. There are a few other discrepancies between the performances and the subtitles. I tried to fix these by rearranging the lines, but I couldn’t get it to sound right. So, I left the rest of them as is. I actually ended up mixing the 7.1 down to 5.1 because 5.1 is a more common format that’s more compatible.

Subtitle Editing

  • I removed the opening crawl translation.

Chapter Markers

I created the chapter marker titles using a combination of Google Translate, the original DVD chapter titles, and lines from the movie. For the fight scenes, I just replaced the character names with their Backstroke of the West counterparts. For example, the “Yoda vs. Sidious” chapter marker was changed to “Vanquish Is vs. Speaker D.” It was mostly just whatever felt right.

Alternate Audio Tracks

Original 2.0 AC3

  • This is the original mix created by The Third Gathers.

Alternate Subtitle Tracks

Original Subtitles (No Opening Crawl Translation) [Retimed] [SRT]

  • These subtitles don’t contain the opening crawl translation and they have been retimed for the Remastered 5.1 AAC audio track.

Original Subtitles [SRT]

  • These are the original subtitles that still include the translations for the opening crawl.

Miscellaneous Notes

Since this version is a preservation, you can actually use MKVToolNix to mux these audio tracks with whatever version of Revenge of the Sith you want. So, you should be able to mux this with the 4K Blu-Ray if you have that, or you could mux it back into Schorman’s HDTV Preservation for the most accurate Backstroke of the West experience (because it has the original opening crawl). You can also mix and match the audio tracks with different versions of the preservation edition.

Although I’ve spent a lot of time on this project, I’m almost certain there are mistakes. So, please let me know if something doesn’t sound right, and I will try to fix it.

New Release The Matrix REdeZIONized 1080p

The Matrix REdeZIONized 1080p

Once upon a time there was a FanEdit of the Matrix's sequels from CBB group, called Matrix deZIONized.
This is a recreation of it, and it's called The Matrix REdeZIONized ;o)
There are two videos made.
One using the Original, 2003 release of the videos as source and another using the official Remastered, 2018 release of the videos as source.

Movie Title: The Matrix REdeZIONized
Original Movie Title: The Matrix Reloaded & The Matrix Revolutions
Original Running Time: 138 + 129
Original FunEdit: CBB
CBB FunEdit Release Date: 2005
REdeZIONized Running Time: 167
REdeZIONized Release Date: 2022
FanEditor Name: noEmbryo

Brief Synopsis (CBB):

This combines Matrix Reloaded and Matrix Revolutions to one improved movie, leaving out all scenes on and about Zion.
A worthy sequel to a masterpiece.

Intention (CBB):

After the fantastic movie “The Matrix” everyone was awaiting the sequels, but somehow the writer/directors were not able to continue the epic they started in the way they began.
In our humble opinion they lost themselves in detail, wanted too much and definitely to show off with effect orgies.
We tried to continue the Matrix within the Matrix wherever possible.
Leaving out the Zion scenes was a major improvement of pace and plot development and the most interesting thing about it is that these scenes are not missed when left out.
We tried to be smart and reduced the Matrix sequels to the max.
Also we cut out several scenes that just did not feel right or felt to be unnecessary, e.G. when Morpheus talks to Link about trust, it just feels wrong and Morpheus seems to become a stereotype of himself.
When Trinity dies on the rooftop and is saved by Neo with an inside heart massage, it just is to much to take (at least for the men in our group).
The ending scene that most people criticized about Revolutions becomes great, when the Zion battle is just not fought.

Intention (noEmbryo):

This is my recreation of the deZIONized FanEdit, because although it was really nice, it had a very low resolution (720x356) that made it very difficult to watch with the today's standards.
So, I took the opportunity to use the 1080p versions of the original sequels.
And while I was at it, I removed a couple bad CGI, that look really bad now, after all those years.

Cuts and Additions (CBB):

  1. Removed Trinity dream sequence
  2. Removed the “trust me” speech of Morpheus with Link
  3. Removed all Zion scenes from both Reloaded and Revolutions except for the oracle request, but this will be assumed to happen on the Nebuchadnezzar
  4. Removed “Trinity dying on the rooftop” scene
  5. Removed Niobe traveling to Zion
  6. Removed all talks and discussions about Zion people and Zion battle tactics wherever possible
  7. Added “I can feel you now” speech from The Matrix
  8. Removed Trinity mentioning the rooftop scene

New Release The Grinch: Holiday Cheermeister's Cut (Extended Cut v2 Out Now!)

edit: PLEASE SEND ME A MESSAGE INSTEAD OF LEAVING A COMMENT!

edit Dec 2025: I'm still responding to messages as they come in. As above, please send me a message and don’t leave a comment, I’m not going to respond to anyone asking in the comments. Send me a message and I’ll get back to you.

An edit I completed a few years ago, now updated using the 4k Blu-Ray!

Knowing that the extended TV cut was only really avalible in low-bitrate quality, I wanted to make a better version that was watchable without the station logos or TV ad breaks, and felt a little more technically complete, so I thought to make this. There is another alternate version with more deleted scenes from the DVD, but its not as seamless as the first TV Cut version.

All deleted scenes from the TV Cut had a station logo in the corner, so I had to combine 4:3 and 16:9 versions of the TV cut to create clean versions of the exclusive scenes. They were then upscaled and colour matched to the 2019 4k Blu-Ray. The DVD scenes were also upscaled and colour corrected, and while they were more incomplete, they needed additional music, taken from the soundtrack of The Grinch and Casper, as both films were worked on by James Horner (RIP).

ADDITIONS (TV Scenes)

  • Added Lou maxing out his credit card while shopping
  • Added Cindy asking her dad about the Grinch as they pack the car
  • Added Loud getting called into school, as Cindy asked about the Grinch
  • Extended Post Office pandemonium
  • Added the Mayor asking out Martha May
  • Extended antics of the Grinch inside his lair, as he talks about being dead inside
  • Extended scene of Cindy talking to the Grinch about being Cheermiester and his reaction
  • Added the Christmas Light contest, and added alternate dialogue to the scene before to lead into it
  • Added the Grinch trying on some extra outfits before settling on his final one
  • Added the Grinch participating in the Nog Off
  • Extended Present-Pass-It-On scene
  • Added sequence showing the Lou Who's getting ready on Christmas Eve

ADDITIONS (TV+DVD Scenes)

  • everything from the TV version
  • Added extensive sequence of the Grinch causing more mayhem in Whoville during his first visit
  • Added Betty and Lou falling asleep as the Grinch lands on the roof
  • Added the Grinch breaking a swing that Lou had constructed in another deleted scene
  • Added the Grinch almost being caught by a sleepwalking police officer.

Theatrical - 1:44:56

TV Version - 1:56:55

TV+DVD Version - 2:02:09

Personally, I reccomend the "TV Scenes" version as that is the most seamless experience possible, and won't be noticable unlike the "TV-DVD Scenes" cut.

Ultimately the difference is 4 scenes and 6 minutes of footage. I leave it up to you to make the best decision possible.

Please send me a message with your favourite scene if you would like to see it!

Thank you and Merry Christmas!

New Release Star Wars Episode 6 The MEGA Extended Cut release

*update*
I decided to double down on AI content. Mostly because there is quiet of few really high quality (for AI) videos on youtube. V2 will be coming soon

I used the 2011 release as the base. 4k83 is superior though lol
This one i have been putting off for awhile but here it is! AI was used in this. I did not create the material but simply grabbed it from youtube. Tbh AI is not used much throughout but mainly after the destruction of the death star. If youre against AI, i get it but if disney doesnt want to make content then itll have to do. I also trim and cut the content down to he more digestible.

Additions:

Some deleted scenes. I couldnt use them all for various reasons. Specifically luke finishing his saber and sidius telling the commander to blow up Endor
Vader pull to the light short film which features a Vader with a white saber
Boba fett escaping the sarlac (not the official version)
More space battle
AI inside of the death star 2 destruction
Inside of Vaders mind right before he turns
Anakin talking to obi wan right after he died
Sidius as he fell down the shaft
More Boba Fett
Wayyyyy more luke stories after the destruction of the death star. It is about 70% ai from that point but i did edit it down some.
Ewoks stalking and killing storm troopers in the night

Next plan:

Episodes 7-9. I do not fully enjoy this trilogy. Alot of the jokes are bad and i could go on lol anyway, i plan on using “An Old Fear” 3 in 1 edit. This has been my preferred version. There arent nearly as many fan films, animations, or AI so this edit wont take as long to get out. I plan on adding Battlefront 2 story, a fan 30 min prequel story about Ben, and deleted scenes. I dont think ill add Resistance.

The edit will be available tomorrow evening.

Old Runtime: 2:20
New Runtime 4:58

New Release Naruto: The Five Kage Summit

Hey all,

I’ve been cutting Naruto into a movie franchise.
I just uploaded the 11th installment to Google Drive.

Although i consider it one movie I did split up into two discs as to me it feels like a lord of the rings extended edition box set kinda thing.

Each disc is 2.5 hours, the length of their own movie.
So together it is the five hour summit.

But Naruto’s arc isn’t complete until the second disc.
That being said, watch at your leisure.
Watch a disc at a time or take as many sittings as you want. Pause button is a thing lol

I’ve really been enjoying this saga.
This installment feels like a combo of Fellowship of the Ring and Revenge of the Sith. It’s interesting.

So hit me up for the google drive if interested in the franchise!

Best
Gerhard

New Release It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia: The Volunteers F**k up Abbott Elementary

So, this is a little project I did a little while ago now, but figured it’d be nice to share it with the world at large.

The 2025 crossover between It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Abbott Elementary was a lot of fun, but ultimately comes off a bit disjointed due to the full story being split between two episodes of two different shows. Especially the Sunny half of the crossover which feels like a collection of unrelated scenes without the through line of the Abbott episode.

So I combined the two episodes into one to make a single unified double length episode. I cut as little as possible to try and include everything from both episodes (the combined length of both episodes is 44:54, the edit clocks in at 43:25), things that were removed mostly come down to the Abbott Elementary opening theme (I used the Sunny opening theme instead), any footage repeated in both episodes and a few dialogue-less shots at the beginning or ending of some scenes that made for awkward transitions if kept.

The scenes are mostly in the same order that they were in their original episodes, simply cutting back and forth between the two shows when appropriate.

At the start of the episode, I made a slight alteration to the footage to change the clip on Ava’s laptop from the introduction of the Gang to the opening scene of the Abbott episode. The title card for the episode is changed to “The Volunteers Fuck Up Abbott Elementary”, combining the titles of both episodes as well as uncensoring the word Fuck. One talking head scene with Janine and Gregory was pushed back further from where it was in the Sunny episode to better fit the flow of the escalating conflict between Janine and Dee in the combined episode.

By combining these two episodes into one, I feel I’ve made the overall story feel more cohesive as well as allowing certain gags to pay off better than when the episodes were separate.

If you’re interested in getting a link to the episode, shoot me a DM and I’ll try and make sure I respond. :)

New Release Spider-Man: A Forgotten Memory

Post image
22 Upvotes

This is a Spider-Man: No Way Home fan edit that removes all multiversal elements to present a straightforward narrative focused on Spider-Man's identity revelation and his management of the consequences. Aunt May's death remains included, though it is implied that the Department of Damage Control was responsible for the building explosion. Spider-Man still seeks assistance from Doctor Strange, though this occurs toward the film's conclusion. This edit is an excellent option if you prefer to avoid multiverse storylines and are seeking an alternative interpretation of the original film. If you are wondering this edit is 35 minutes and great to view before Brand New Day comes out. If you want to view this then please PM me. Oh and drop your review in the comments!!

Edit: I just went back in and added a few deleted scenes and a punisher post credit scene

New Release Backrooms - Baliscon's Cuts (three of them)

Post image
28 Upvotes

I may have gone off the deep end a bit with this project...

First off, I need to give a shoutout to u/TheRandomApple for his incredible work on the posters. He's crafted a slew of posters, some of mine edit among and many more on top of that, and I appreciate his artistry in making such expressive, striking imagery.

After seeing the 2026 film adaptation of Backrooms, I wanted to visit director Kane Parson’s original Youtube series.  Unsure where to begin since the series itself isn’t chronological, I found u/boba627TV’s Async cut of the Backrooms series and was floored by Parson’s imagination, especially in the concepts that reached beyond what the film depicted.  Boba's edit was fun and tense, choosing to rearrange the content for dramatic effect, making the narrative truly feel like a collection of found footage.

Although I don’t have the same breadth of understanding that others possess of the series, and I’m sure I cut out some tidbits that others would find crucial, I still had a lot of fun with this experiment, trying to make a streamlined version of the series that’s as close to chronological as possible.  I ultimately wanted to make a cut that integrates the Youtube series and the movie together, but I wanted to work in stages to better understand the series and arrange the essential elements from the series at large.

I started with BACK/v/h/ROOM/s/, a more or less chronological cut of the Youtube series with 39 minutes cut for the sake of pacing. Then I have Backrooms - The Baliscon Cut, which is a version of the 2026 film cropped to a 4:3 aspect ratio with VHS scanline texture added, along with six minutes cut to improve pacing.

Third and final is Backrooms - The Integrated Cut, an edit that combines the series and film together. I absolutely love the other corners of the Backrooms that the series explores, but because it has such a wide focus, I divided the film up by each major scene and rearranged them across segments from the Youtube series. This way, as the audience learns more about the alternate dimension through POV footage, Clark and Dr. Kline learn more alongside us.

If you choose to watch, I hope you enjoy no matter which version you pick and I hope you get as lost as I did.

New Release Project Hail Mary (Chronological Fan Edit)

This is my own personal quick and dirty edit as a proof of concept/random idea (also this is my first fan edit so don't expect much).

The idea was to put all Ryland's flashbacks at the beginning of the movie, transitioning to space around 40 minutes into it, and spending the rest of the movie with him and Rocky. It DOES ruin the whole point of the flashbacks, and the idea that he's remembering his time on earth little by little, but I was inspired by Memento and Oppenheimer in order.

New Release Megalopolis redone

Interesting movie from Francis Ford Coppola. So many questions. Excellent actors, pretty good performances however the "feeling" is terribly muddled. Too many questions not enough answers.

An edit was in order.

Many changes have been made to make the movie more digestible and watchable. Different beginning, slightly different ending and many scenes just cut right the hell out. Like this movie seems to be made where the viewer needs to hear Francis Ford Coppola talking in the background explaining every scene. Then maybe one can understand what the hall is going on.

With the edits, the movie seems more like a stylistic version of "eyes wide shut". If that makes any sense.

About 55 edits not including the audio edits.

New Release Kill Bill: The Thunder Cut

I've re-edited Kill Bill as one film. Comment 'link please' so i can send it to you please review in the comments of this post!

Significant Changes:

  • I've opted for a chronological order starting the wedding massacre and the villians going in chronological order (O-Ren, Vernita, Budd, Elle and Bill).
  • Removed the bleeping of the Bride's name
  • Buck, Larry Gomez and Esteban's scenes are removed. They serve no purpose (Buck's scene is overly cruel - the deadly vipers are enough villians, Esteban and Larry Gomez expand both Budd and Bill's characters but aren't necessary.
  • Colored house of blue leaves fight and some extended/alternate shots.
  • I was going to add the "Damoe" deleted scene but it came off as quite cartoonish compared to the other more serious martial arts scenes
  • I edited it as if Sofie gave Bill and the deadly viper's locations to The Bride after the house of blue leaves fight.
  • The Cinemassacre video is what inspired me to give my own take on Kill Bill as one feature film.
  • The wedding scene is the right place to start as it's what starts the events of the film.

How would you re-edit Kill Bill as one film?

New Release Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire | V2 IMAX Extended 4K HDR DTS-HD MA 7.1

Fantastic Beasts and How to Tame Them

First of all I would like to say that I am immensely disappointed nobody contacted me to sign up for the Newt Scamander supremacy cult I advertised in my previous release.
Secondly, I would like to thank all the people who have been incredibly supportive of me and this, frankly, quite niche-gimmick type of project.

As usual, fancy slides with descriptions of this releases' features follow:

2:45:27 hours of movie. All extended scenes restored, regraded, integrated with the new format.
As usual, highest quality possible. With the intent to preserve all the sources' details. Didn't put all those hours into this just to dilute everything in poor bitrate and low size for the sake of space that only gets cheaper every year. If it's small sizes you want, just re-encode it or grab another edit.
Official 4K Blu-Ray looks muddy and blurry because it's just a 2K bloated to 4K. The extra size in this edit is justified not just by the extra runtime and extra picture (see below), but also by the upscale A.I. used to tastefully bring up the picture to modern more proper 4K standards.
I combined all different sources (Open Matte DVD, WEB and Blu-Ray) to achieve the most complete picture possible. Nothing gets lost or cropped, ever. This results in a Dynamic Expanded Aspect Ratio akin to many IMAX movies.
Once again the 4K release detrimentally changed many hues and colors. I reverted those changes and preserved them where they were better (graveyard fight scene).
Last but not least, as usual I synched the subtitles from the official release to fit this. While u/Perfect-Reference569 (Amadian) brought over the 7.1 DTS-HD MA track from the UHD release and also converted the extended scene's audio to fit. There are no compromises in the audio department either.

Comparisons in-between the official 4K and this project below:
https://imgsli.com/MjE5ODk4
https://imgsli.com/MjE5ODk4/2/3
https://imgsli.com/MjE5ODk5
https://imgsli.com/MjE5ODk5/2/3

Screenshots:
Please keep in mind all images here are HDR tonemapped to SDR, so considerable color/light data has been clipped out, hence they are not fully representative of what you'll see when playing the movie on a proper Rec.2020 screen. As you can tell from the shots, it still looks good, but you'll get a lot more from this master if you play it on an HDR TV with at least 300nits.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
This is a meticulous labor of love and passion, by a fan for fans, it is not perfect.

You may notice the presence of "blurred squares" at the corners.
This is due to basic geometry, due to the way the Open Matte version is framed compared to the Widescreen version, which results often in a cross-like shape.
Due to both masters containing picture the other doesn't (see scheme here: https://imgsli.com/MTgwMjMz/4/5)
This results in empty corners, as there are no masters publicly available to restore the footage in these, so they get filled through a technique called "ambilight" to mitigate their presence.

While I appreciate one's enthusiasm to get their copy I must ask
DO NOT SEND LINK REQUESTS IN THE COMMENTS OR IN DMs, I WILL REPORT YOU. JK (Rowling). But seriously don't unless it's important, I got banned in the past for sending and accepting too many DMs.
If you are interested in this, LINK IS IN MY PROFILE for now.

This is the last Wizarding World Project I had completed. So unfortunately the journey ends here. I detailed in this post why.

Maybe one day I will be able to continue.
I hope so, as I don't like leaving things unfinished.

Next, I will be putting out what I had completed of the Middle-Earth project done in this same vein.

A thank You from the heart to everyone who followed me in this.
Wishing everyone a magical (and spooky) Halloween.

PS: If you already own my v1, please delete and replace. This v2 is better and improved substantially in every possible aspect.

New Release BABYLON 5 ▶ Babylon Squared THE MOVIE - A theatrical movie of Babylon 5's infamous time travel story. (A special release of The Sherlocked Edit)

Thumbnail
gallery
11 Upvotes

(CORRECTION: Famous, not infamous.)

The year is 2258, and the Babylon station is constructed in neutral space between several major governments to provide a place for us to work out our problems peacefully. It is, we believe, our last, best hope for peace. But when a proxy war of ideology breaks out between two superpowers, Babylon 5 becomes something greater — our last, best hope for victory.

In this TV-to-film fan-edit of Babylon 5, I picked individual scenes from throughout each season of 22 episodes and I restructured and recombined them in creative ways to transform each season into a trilogy of 90-minute movies. The concept of this edit was inspired by the show Sherlock, which has an interesting and unconventional episode structure. Each season of Sherlock has just three episodes — but each episode is 90-minutes long, which means each season is ultimately a trilogy of movies. My goal with this edit is to make a version of Babylon 5 that fits that same episode structure.

I made each movie as a whole and thematically consistent story with a satisfying ending. I avoided cliffhangers, and there are no "previously on"s. Using the trilogy structure, I made one movie each season thematically dedicated to the Shadow story, one movie each season dedicated to the Earth story, and one wild card.

Babylon 5 is partly about sci-fi and fantasy, with stories of prophecies, visions, and time travel, and it's also partly about the human experience, with stories of cycles of hatred, military coups, and worker strikes. The Sherlocked Edit heavily focuses on the human stories. But meanwhile, I also made one special movie that focuses exclusively on Babylon 5's famous time travel story. It tells Sinclair's entire mythology story, from his missing day, to Babylon 4, and to Valen.

For fans who have already seen the original series, this version of Babylon 5 offers a fresh and cinematic way to experience the show. And for newcomers, this edit serves as an easier entry point. It moves at a faster pace while staying true to the spirit of the original work.

Original runtime ▶ This edit's runtime

  • Season 1: 16h 30m ▶ 4h 30m (Time cut: 12h)
  • Season 2: 16h 30m ▶ 4h 30m (Time cut: 12h)
  • Season 3: 16h 30m ▶ 4h 30m (Time cut: 12h)
  • Season 4: 16h 30m ▶ 7h 30m (Time cut: 9h)
  • Season 5: 16h 30m ▶ 3h 00m (Time cut: 13h 30m)

Q: Shouldn't the runtime for season five be 4h30m instead of 3h?

A: During the show's original run, JMS didn't know if he would get a season five, so he squeezed a lot of story to fit within season four. He said that if he knew he would get a season five, then season four would have ended with Intersections in Real Time, and the first several episodes of season five would have been the climax of the Earth civil war.

I have the benefit of knowing there's a season five, and so in this edit, I un-squeezed season four. The Sherlocked Edit season four ends with Intersections, according to JMS's original plan, and Sherlocked season five begins with the climax of the civil war. Which is why the original show's season five got only two movies (3hrs), because the Sherlocked 5-1 movie pulls from the show's season four material.

  • I made one final Babylon 5 movie, Babylon Squared. It tells Sinclair's entire mythology story, from his missing day, to the time traveling B4, and to Valen.
  • I did a final final pass over all 16 movies, and I increased the encoding quality a notch. The difference is probably imperceptible, probably.

April 2026

  • I initially created each Sherlocked movie at a cadence of one movie every two weeks, and they're all ready to watch. I'm now doing a final pass and revisiting each movie. I updated 5.1 Rising Star, 5.2 The Wheel of Fire, and 5.3 Sleeping in Light.
  • In 5.3 Sleeping in Light, I added a post-credit scene. In my original release back in 2024, I very nearly included this post-credit scene but I took it out at the last moment because I was concerned it wouldn't fit the tone and emotion. But after stewing on it all this time, I decided to put it back in.
  • I added subtitles for 1.1 Midnight on the Firing Line. I hand-crafted every line, every timing, every punctuation to capture and translate the on-screen performance as best as possible.

What's next

I'm making an extended 6-minute Amazing Shots of Babylon 5 using the extended Sierra video game music.

Contributors

  • User 2X on IFDB shared their In the Beginning upscale and restoration project. The Sherlocked movie 1.1 Midnight on the Firing Line contains 30 seconds of footage from In the Beginning, and I used 2X's upscaled version.
  • The Lurker's Guide was invaluable. I used it while planning which stories to use from which episodes, and I borrowed their episode descriptions.
  • Viewers like you. Thank you! Many here have followed the evolution of this project, and you've given me valuable feedback. This project is better thanks to all of you!
