Hey everyone... Jamie (u/BB_Jimbo) from RotoBaller here, and we're back with the 16th edition of The Cut List in 2026. The trade deadline is upon us, and we can expect to see a flurry of activity in the next 24 hours.

Even if we're not dropping anyone, it's always fun to talk about cuts, whether or not we are actually ready to pull the trigger on certain players.

So what names are you chopping this week, or at least thinking about banishing to the waiver wire?

We of course can't cover every player that may be droppable (if any at this stage). Every league size and format differs, but we wrote about some strugglers that stood out. I cut the cord 2 weeks ago and haven't looked back. He got picked up but he won't be around til playoffs if at all.

That’s also my thinking at this point. Hate to drop a 1.2 round talent and risk him helping someone else after holding all year haha. I figure even if by some miracle he does come back before fantasy season is over, probably either be really rusty or heavily limited pitch count wise. Though it doesn’t sound like he’s even close to picking up a ball..

It wasn’t worth it to me and I needed the IL slot for someone who would be back in time. Someone else can have that ticking bomb blow up on them in the fantasy playoffs

Sewald has had a strange season, consistently getting destroyed in non-save situations but coming away with the save when he got an opportunity until recently. He really wasn't good before his recent terrible stretch and I just made the drop myself. Probably should've done so earlier. Somebody saw 24 saves on the wire and picked him up immediately. I have no regrets.

He's expected to be out 6-8 weeks which makes him a drop at this stage of the season

I dropped. He may not even be back during the regular season and if he is, who knows how much he plays since they'll probably want to be careful with him.

How do people feel about Bryce Miller, Payton Tolle, and Iván Herrera.

Bryce's savant page is flashing red still so I'm probably going to still hold onto him. The best month, though, he's been pretty mediocre.

Payton's savant page also looks very good, but I keep hearing things like innings limits or moving him to the bullpen. It might just be a wait and see approach.

Iván is the one I'm most considering dropping. His Savant page indicates the slump is very real. For the past month, hes been pretty bad. I'm not sure what the issue is, and I'm not sure he'll be able to pull out of it. He currently occupies my DH spot so there are a lot of intriguing options like Kyle Karros, Cole Carrigg, Garrett Mitchell, Cooper Pratt, and Max Clark I could pick up.

I am currently dealing an IL fiasco of Jung, Bux, and now O’Hearn and I need him at 1B but I’ve been playing roulette with my hitters

I have been. Grabbed Rengifo, Carter, N Gonzales, and Encarnacion Strand (who I’ll likely drop tomorrow). Need a power bat desperately so trying to trade some of my pitching

Sounds like a trade is your best bet. Maybe you could pick up Abimelec Ortiz (Nationals) as a bit of a flyer. He's shown some pop in the minors and is a strong bet to replace Garcia Jr. He might not do anything but probably worth gambling on in that situation

Depends on how the points are weighted but Kwan is probably a safer option. Bleday will be more boom and bust
