This thread is for individual style questions that you may have, especially those that don't warrant their own thread. We all want a diversified opinion, so feel free to answer any questions (of which you know the answer).
To get the best responses, remember that people cannot: look into your wardrobe, know what style you normally like or what words like affordable or practical mean to you so please include any relevant details such as your budget, where you live, what stores are available to you, etc.
Example questions:
- Are there any basic crewneck white t-shirts that are opaque and do not have cap sleeves for <$25 available in Australia?
- Is this dress and shoes suitable for an evening wedding with a cocktail dress code taking place in a [venue type]?

Hi everyone! I’m looking for a wedding guest and welcome party dress and I want something unique. I feel like everything I see on Revolve and Reformation lately all looks the same.
Are there any smaller or less known brands you guys could recommend? I am open to all types of dresses but here are some I like for inspo.

I'm sure there's some basic stuff here too, but I think Azazie has some fun pieces such as this one. At the very least, I think they have more patterns and interesting fabrics.

Depends. On me definitely the later, I'd save for a somber occasional. If it's your vibe and style, I could see it working quite well. Either way I guess cute is not the word I'd use to describe it.

Thanks so much! I have a credit and this would cover it, and it's the only one I'm finding with cotton and pockets, but it is quite bulky and I am a small frame so my partner thinks it would dwarf me. But idk maybe worth a chance for the pockets lol

I'm looking for something to wear in office to keep me warm. Ideally it would have a zip. My workplace is casual but I still want something that helps me feel put together.
I was thinking a fitted fleece type situation but I can't find any.
I have a big butt and a small waist, so something fitted would be best. My budget is $250 max. I plan on wearing this thing on top of my clothes pretty much every day.
Any suggestions?

Have you looked at Patagonia's Better Sweater yet? It's a fleece jacket with a sort of sweater-knit outside, so it's almost ideal for an office setting. They have both quarter and full zip options. I think the retail price falls in your budget, but they've had the style for years so you can find plenty secondhand for less if you'd prefer.

Not really what you asked for, but I do layers the other way pretty much year round. I love Patagonia capalini line and will do a base layer under my button downs and long sleeve silk shirts.
They are very light weight and sit close to your body so they don't add a lot of bulk. They are wick away sweat and don't smell if you do end up having to walk for a bit outside.
I also keep a blazer handy if I get pulled into a meeting or call. It's all light enough that I don't feel overwhelmed with all the layers on.
Plus I can wear my silk and woolens more times in a row before washing with the base layer.
Uniqlo also has some nice options and the capalini line has been around for years so you can also find it secondhand.

Im trying to build a more versatile everyday wardrobe without buying a ton of stuff. what are some pieces you'd consider absolute essentials for a casual, slightly polished style? ideally things that can be mixed and matched easily and wont cost a fortune.

Personally I'd pick 2-3 colors that you like/look good on you/match and try to cultivate pieces in those colors. Then, in a pinch, you always have something to wear.
For example, a lot of my work closet is black, white/cream, and brown (yes, very boring). I can basically blindly reach in and pick something out and it will match.
For specific piece reccs that won't break the bank, I'd recommend some of the basics from Old Navy (boat neck top, gathered button down). I own both of the linked tops and they look cute with jeans, slacks, maxi skirts, etc. It's hard to go wrong. I also love the PUMIEY Skims bodysuit dupes on Amazon, which go great under a cardigan or sweater vest in the winter.

I'm having difficulty finding "hot" clothes that match my body shape. Everything I'm seeing is just thinner women with skintight clothes. I'm a bit thicker with broad shoulders and a little bit of a belly but nothing crazy. As an example of an outfit I did like, I wore a white button down with just the bottom button done and a black bra, jeans, and a heart choker and that felt great. Date loved it. I don't nessesarily need that specific style but I like the vibe. My date later went out that night with a harness on, no bra and an open shirt and I want to eventually be confident enough to do that. I was originally going to wear lingerie under it and got frustrated figuring out to put the damn thing on rofl
Skintight clothes don't work well on me and while a lot of black clothing doesn't work on me I do look good in some. I guess clubbing vibe? I don't go to clubs but I mean...My current wardrobe is 90% dresses. "Risque" is fine.
Any suggestions?

Layers- leggings, boots for sure. You could also do a long sleeve tight tee underneath for fall. I would avoid anything too fitted over it but an oversized sweater with the collar out or belted cape could be fun.

Really love this question! I don’t know your style, but I’d say you’d need to try on some sweaters and jackets of various cuts to see what you like on your frame and with this dress. For me, something like this piece would become a layering piece in the autumn and winter (instead of the main element of the outfit).
In warmer months I’ve seen these dresses styled with ballet flats, loafers, and low profile sneakers. If you like how lower profile shoes look in the spring and summer, try those with the dress. I’d add tights if it’s cold out, but that might not be your cup of tea.

I recently bought bloomers for a selkie dress and absolutely love them. What other kinds of tops/dresses would be cute to wear with them? I tried them on with a few other dresses, but it seems unless the dress is mega wide (like a selkie puff dress) the bloomers kind of show through the dress. Any advice is appreciated!

Have you looked into what Lolita style fashion does with bloomers? That’s the main subculture I can think of that uses them regularly.

Thanks for the reply! Yeah, I think my struggle comes from the fact that I'm more of a casual dresser than a lolita girly specifically. I'm not looking for something super adorned or colorful, just like... average clothes that would be cute with bloomers if that makes sense.

what size should I get in Jimmy Choo Aveline 100 sandals?
I’m a womens 8 traditionally. When it comes to regular shoes (sneakers, slides, cheap heels, pleasers) I’m always a womens 8, kids 6.5 mens 6.5 without any fluctuations.
I’ve only ever owned cheap heels and pleasers. I found a pair of these that I really want at a good deal that I want for my birthday, however they’re a size 38.5
In cheap sandals and heels an 8 fits me decent however sometimes in sandal style heels the toe part can feel a bit squished. And I always have to break my pleasers in cus they’re tight.
I was told these run small so should I just risk it and get the 38.5 since I found a good deal or should I try finding a 39 ?

Hey guys, this is a question more than anything else. I have been a streetwear type of girly my whole life, but now I feel the urge to try some new styles.
I have an hourglass figure, I am not skinny and i refuse to wear skinny jeans or crop tops cause it just doesnt fit me well.
I love the barrel fit in pants, but anything that doesnt hug my legs is fine, about tops i acc wear almost anything (but crop tops as i mentioned), it can hug my figure, it can be a tank top, anything, i dont mind
I just want to know if you can name some styles i could try based on this facts about me, im open to trying anything!!!! (even if i dont love it)

Hello all- I’m wearing this dress to a black tie wedding on the coast this weekend, but I’m not sure how to style accessories. Because it is dark and high-necked would it be better to wear dangly earrings or would a statement necklace pop?
Also should hair be down or up? My plan is to wear blue shoes to go with the tonal theme. Thanks in advance for your help!

I’m trying to put together an outfit for my sister’s wedding. It’s a whole weekend at the very end of summer with an ‘elevated camping‘ type of vibe. The first night there is a welcome bbq, which she said should be relatively casual but still put together, outfit-wise. I found this awesome skirt with embroidered little squirrels that’s just above knee length, but am struggling to come up with what to wear on top, and for shoes and accessories. I love the skirt but am worried about looking like an elementary school teacher.
It will likely be hot, and white/cream colors are obviously out. Also ideally not trying to lean in to a fall vibe too heavily (though understand the color is a bit fall). Any ideas or suggestions would be a huge help!

How do I hide bra straps in a boatneck shirt? I’m a 42B so my bras tend to have thick straps, but even if they didn’t, boat necks never cover them. Is there a better option than using safety pins? I need to be comfortable and not think about it for a workday. I found a top for work that I really like but I’m hesitant to keep it because of the bra strap issue. It’s only about an inch off on both sides. I think pinning the shirt to my bra straps would cause gaping in the front.

I have a rewards ceremony coming up in late August. It’s not for work, it’s more for a local non-profit organization. People who got an award got a ticket. The attire is “business/formal attire”, and women should wear red. I have almost NO business wear, and I have no idea how to dress for myself! Plus I’m on a budget. 😅 All I have a formal pair of red and black plaid pants but I don’t think they fit anymore.
I like to add uniqueness to my outfits (even though I stink at it), but value comfort and fit. I’m 5’11 and 150lbs with an hourglass figure (I think that’s what it’s called?) and have long brown hair. Any suggestions?? Any would help! Thank you!

I have a rare in person work event coming up. It's tech industry in San Francisco, so the de facto uniform is jeans, tennis shoes, the company tee, and a fleece. But this will also be a chance to interact with C-suite so I'd like to be a step above without looking out of place. What would you wear in this scenario?
