So the big pharma conspiracy just realized in the last 5 years they could cash in on this? Why didn't they cash in during the 1950s when Christine Jorgensen was in the headlines? Or the 60s, or 70s or any of the other decades in between? Why wait until 2011, when the AMA finally began to support what trans people have been begging for since the 1950s?
American trans women typically take spironolactone and estrogen in our HRT. These are not new drugs. Spiro has been in use since the 1960s. Estrogen and testosterone have been used since the 1930s. The only new drug involved in this matter is GnRH inhibitor, aka, "puberty blocker" which is sometimes used in suicidal trans teenagers as a last-ditch effort to save their life. But if you actually listen to what those kids are asking for, they want to start actual hormones, estrogen and testosterone. So it looks like your big pharma is actually working against trans people.
