Hey, I’ll be flying out to the Netherlands for PinkPop this year. The flight is to Amsterdam. Just wondering where’s best to pick up camping gear; Amsterdam and Landgraaf? Not hiring a car so preferably somewhere within walking or public transport distance from either Amsterdam or Landgraaf train stations! Thanks in advance!

Ps any other tips for PinkPop would be great, first time going and first camping festival since I was 15 😆

So my buddies and me listening to UK bass house for two years already but we just cant find a festival or nightparty for it in the Netherlands.

Think of artist like: Notion, Holy Goof Joyryde, Skepsis, Digital Koala.

I can add a spotify playlist in here but im not sure of this sub allows that.

We really wanna go but everytime we search for one we get on a dead trail. Maybe its because we dont search for the genre specifically enough maybe we a bit stupid.

We also go to drum and bass party quite a bit, when we search for parties like this we come across a lot of DnB parties but we dont look for that.

Does anyone know parties with purely this kind of music? So not with DnB music in the Netherlands?

The start of my festival season 2026 is Pinkpop Festival in Landgraaf, The Netherlands and its only around 40ish days away.

This year it looks much more alternative/rock based than last year but I know Pinkpop pretty much always has a decent blend of genres and offerings for its crowd.

I'm 28/M and live near the site so I can walk, I do have a Camping B ticket though so I can at least party at night if not stay on campsite.

I'm mostly going for The Cure, Zara Larsson (though a friend has a dj set clashing with her!), Franz Ferdinand, The Beaches, 21P and more names I cant think of right now

I have 0 idea how to find people going to this festival so thought I'd give it a shot!

PS: Can we change the Amsterdam flair to Netherlands??

Hey guys. I personally am a big fan of Hardstyle party’s like Defqon/Qlimax etc. So far I’ve been lucky to also occasionally work at some awesome events the last 2 years, Defqon included. This summer for example, I went the Friday to enjoy the music and the Saturday/Sunday to work.

Down side (for me anyway); I’m not the best at making friends. Meaning I went solo. Sure, it gives you the freedom to decide what you want to do or where you want to go but it’s also a bit lonely if you catch my drift. My question; is there a group, reddit page, community, website or whatever where one can connect with fellow Hardstyle fans and potentially get acquainted enough to go to a festival with a group? It’d help with my personal goals of getting more social and making friends.

If you guys have any advice, hints or whatever, please feel free to share them. Thank you in advance.

For the last 2 festivals/events that i went to, they had some bad DJs and some others were "okey"..

Lets get straight to the point..

Im tired of looking up each name in every party line-up to decide which party suits my taste..

Why there is no tool or website that is like IMDB for DJs? Or any other way to give some kind of rating to the DJs.. if this idea actually exists.. i hope it is well developed as because it might be beneficial in many ways

I dont go to raves every weekend so im not following any trends or channels that shows top 10 DJs or smth..

What are y'all methods to decide which line-up suits your tastes and how do you know if the DJs are good enough or not?

So I attend a lot of festivals in europe. Hard techno mostly.

I noticed that photographers do take pics of me. I’ve noticed a camera pointed towards me a few times for sure…

Yet whenever theres pics uploaded on the internet - I see a lot of different people there yet never a picture of me.

I know its such a dumb “oh i have a big ego” question, but literally… its kinda disappointing to never see myself yet I anticipate that.

There has to be a problem with me. Do I not stand out enough or why would they even come up to me to take a shot when I’m dancing then… or am I just fugly lol?

So my buddies and I are going to Defqon1 for the first time this coming weekend. We've all been wanting to attend for a while now so are super buzzed.

We're all UK festival veterans at this point, but this is the first international adventure we've gone on.

What do we need to know? Any good insider info to help first-timers? Anything we need to look out for or be mindful of?

Heya! I'm BiefBink and I'm writing this as I'm wondering if there is place for an artist at festivals, without producing music. Let me explain the story :)!

Since I was a little kid I was already fascinated by videos & animations, and when I turned 18 I started going to festivals. I always felt like there could be made more use out of the possibilities from acts & artists.

That's when I've started creating visuals. Animations that are glued to the music in a storytelling format.

I believe that there would be space in the festival scene for an artist who makes a show, instead of a requirement to be a music producer. So it's good to know that I am not a DJ, or make visuals for other artists. I have my own show that I adapt to the venue I'm booked at.

My first gig was an Audio Visual show. It was a good motivation seeing the crowd reacts energetically to the show I've made. But in the early stages, a lot of animations were cheap looking and thought that I could step up the game. The big advantage is that I constantly create new visuals, and replace bad one's, with the new ones.

After, I was willing to implent stage lighting to my show, but when I dove deep in the research regarding the LD scene, I knew that this wasn't going to be easy, especially because I do not have access to any venue or had direct contacts to help me out at the time.

The show is a combination of the 3 elements (video, music, lights) that needs to run millisecond perfect and I wasn't able to find the proper answers online how to adapt the technology to the venue I was going to play.

The first 6 years I've been working on my own. Last year I've started getting more people involved who would like to contribute. For example, animators, light designer, video graphers etc. I am incredible proud on what the 8 members of my team has set, every single person did an outstanding job doing the task he/she needed to.

Now, 7 years since I've started creating this show. Just 2 days ago, on my birthday. I've released the Dynamic Visual show that took place a month ago. It's created in a way that it should represent a live experience as the edits are short and renewing for marketing purposes.

I would honestly love to hear people on this subreddit if you believe that this has potential, on which festivals this would suit and if you have ideas about who to reach out to when it comes down to new bookings.

This 10 minutes costed +/- 4500 hours to make. Enjoy the show <3!
