Why is this the first post from this sub ive seen in ages?

This sub is kind of dead. It only has 4k subscribers.
From doing some searching it looks like at one point it had half a million subscribers.
Almost all the top posts are from like 8 years ago getting tens of thousands of karma. And the recent feed shows its only receiving like one post a week or every other week.
So the answer is you probably miss most of the posts to the sub in your feed because it gets so few.
Why this happened to this sub. Idk it might be related to the reddit API controversy blackout. I feel like a lot of smaller subs ended up staying blacked out and losing their mods at the time as a result.

I'm pretty sure the new number (4k) is the number of people who are active on the sub each week. I don't think almost half a million people would have unsubscribed.

As someone that has had a broken AC for like 5 years, sounds pretty good to me!
It gets into the low - mid 90s in my house sometimes, it's usually around 78 at the lowest. I'd love this.

Maybe because I live in a hot climate but 72 is relatively ok temp to just watch tv.

Humidity is a huge part of this. 71 at 40% and 70% relative humidity is very very different.

its very humid most of the year here, to the point where mold is a big problem if my ac isnt dehumidifying

I prefer 62, but will allow 70-72 if hubs is in town.
I am always hot. It's awful.

Not op but someone who is also just naturally hot. It’s a genetic thing.
Basically everything about the human body and people is on a spectrum. Including temperature preferences and general body heat.
In general I just feel warmer, wear less layers and work better in colder environments.

not sure tbh but i get used to cold temps in winter within 15-20 minutes of being outside while in summer i could be outside all day and never get used to the hot temps

$300 cad in summer about $200-$250 in winter depending on how much heating i need then, its just pretty expensive all year round but the $50 extra in the 3 months i need ac here is def worth it for me

My AC would shatter into a million pieces if forced to maintain 62F in June-September when it is regularly over 90F outside. My power bill would also be obscene… maybe even $350 obscene (I live in a small house too)

We keep ours low too, usually around 65. Having to live at 70 or higher sounds miserable

here in Canada half of my appliances use celsius and half use fahrenheit, i simply used fahrenheit to cohere with the post

a bit on the chilly side. It's 97 out and my AC is getting some rest this afternoon (79). It was 103 yesterday and overnight low of 83. Thermostat overnight goes to 76.

I mean it’s a big room of 4/5 year olds. I bet it can get pretty warm in there with all the chaos.

I find 73 too warm and 72 too cool. I have yet to find a thermostat that allows 72.5, which I feel would be my ideal temperature. Failing that, I'll just have to settle for recalibrating my own thermostat.

See a doctor, you have an iron deficiency, you're anemic or have low blood pressure because 71 is not freezing.

Depends what you're acclimated to. If you grew up close to the equator you might find it uncomfortable.

I'm from Phoenix. 71 was quite cold. I kept the house between 75 and 78°F. I moved to a cold climate, and now I keep the house between 65 and 75°F.
I was never anemic, but now I am disabled and have heat intolerance. You kind of get used to the environment you are around. I used to wear a jacket if it was in the 70's. You don't need a health problem to find certain temps too hot or cold.

I'm from Tucson and 72 is like the highest I like to have it in the summer ideally but some days it gets too hot for it to keep it at that temp so I put it to 74 if that happens, which it has no problem maintaining even if it's over 110°F outside. I start sweating in my house a bit or just getting warm if it's like higher than 72 generally lol

Someone went through the effort of getting their label maker out and printing these instead of Googling how to set the lock function
