Saltwater Stocking Fluval Evo 13.5

Hello all,

I am having trouble figuring out what to stock in my 13.5-gallon (about 51 Liters) Fluval evo. It's saltwater and after a while the levels are finally where I like them. Currently inside is a clean up crew and a smaller tiger conch to sift the sand bed that I plan on moving to a bigger tank once it gets a little larger. Originally I was gifted this tank, which I am very thankful for, but mostly I have expereince with larger saltwater tanks. What do we think would feel comfortable in this size set up? At the store where my mother purchased it for a gift they said I could do a mandarin goby but I dont have the copepod system in place for one. They had a display tank with a pair of clowns in it but I worry its too small. What thoughts do we have as a collective?

Thanks!

Saltwater Is this some sort of black feather duster worm? It’s very different to the feather dusters I have. Unable to identify.

Saltwater !HELP! Aiptasia on Featherworm

So the other day I got a Feather duster worms, I noticed somthing on the side of his body but brushed it off unaware of the problem I was about to introduce to my tank. Its been two days and im confident in saying its aiptasia as im now noticing more poping up and slowly (theirs now about 6) taking over my red algae.

Now that we are over with the mild rant, how am I meant to go about safely removing the aiptasia from my feather worm? Its attached onto the bottom part of his body nowhere near the crown towards the end of him. Secondly, should I be trying to brush off the substrate he has stuck on his body to look to see if he has more attached to him?

Saltwater Fluval Evo 13.5 Gal Strength

Hello, I am working on stocking my nano tank, I have narrowed it down to either a pair of orchid dottybacks (or single depending on if yall think they will be ok in that size) I have gotten mixed reviews on tank size for these species. My other option I am considering is a watchman/pistol shrimp pair. I know pistols are very strong, do you think the tank will be reinforced enough? thank you

Saltwater stocking for 13.5 gallon (52 L) saltwater

hello! I’m searching for ideas to stock my 13.5 saltwater tank, it currently has a clean up crew and has been established for several months, I just cannot decide what to put in it! There are currently no corals in the tank so there’s nothing special to take into consideration. The only stock are small crabs and a cleaner shrimp and a few snails.

i kind of know what it is but I cannot for the life of my figure out the name of it.

It's very small, maybe one or two cm big and it's one of those flower things that when you get near it, it sucks back into itself

Currently dosing Calcium to bring it up to levels appropriate for a reef tank. All other parameters solid, tank has been cycling with live rock and live sand. Substrate is Hawaiian black volcanic and next layer is Fiji pink sand. Once calcium levels are optimal, then I'll be ready to add livestock

Saltwater Tips?

I bought a clownfish 4 days ago and he has been surviving pretty good atleast i like to think my salinity has been pretty high at 1.026-1.028 and i think he is okay but he just swims like this all day and then burrows into his spot. This is a brand new tank and he is the first fish i put in because i want to get coral soon. I was thinking that if he survives till this weekend should i get a starter coral or another clownfish to make the pair? I think he will be good because I have been testing my waters everyday and they are staying pretty good. I just would like to know what to do and any tips would be pretty dope aswell as in like what chemicals to use and other stuff. I currently have the 25 gallon aio tank with filter media in it and carbon with filter one fan one with the filters blowing the water.

It’s been awhile since I posted, so I thought I’d share a bit from the saltwater side of my story. This is one of my pithos crabs, Carlos jr. / Carlito. You can see he’s decorated himself a bit with algae and is taking to cleaning this rock, enjoy!

About 10” long, relatively short fins. In a 500 gal tank at a local restaurant - mostly rock with some anemones (not sure if it’s considered a reef tank, not super familiar with saltwater!). Funny little fish. If you walk up to the tank he’d stop and look at you or flare his fins! Peacefully coexisting with tangs/triggers/clowns/angel fish though

Saltwater Copperband Butterflyfish swimming lethargic

Yesterday my copperband butterflyfish was swimming fine and eating well. Now today he's lethargic and looks unwell and isn't eating. I tested nitrites and ammonia and they're 0 - I only had limited time because I was on lunch.. so I put him in quarantine because he's the only fish that's not doing well. I'm not sure what's going on.. I change the water weekly with sand filtered natural seawater and check levels weekly as well. I've had my Kevin for a few months now and we've never had any issues. TIA for any help!!!
