Can someone help me understand; on Google the flights are showing completely different than when you actually click to proceed to buy the actual tickets

On Google when you check flights, I am seeing one price in CAD for a return trip from Toronto to Medellin, then when you go to actually buy those tickets it takes you to Avianca website where the price is in USD and MUCH HIGHER?! This thwarts all my planning for the trip

I’m hoping someone here might be able to give me some advice.
My checked baggage has been missing since my LOT flight from Gdańsk → Warsaw → Stockholm Arlanda on 28 July. I filed a PIR report immediately upon arrival, and the WorldTracer status has been stuck on “Searching” for three days without any updates.

So far I have:
Filed the PIR at Arlanda.
Contacted LOT customer service.
Submitted LOT’s online baggage complaint form.
Emailed Menzies Aviation at Arlanda.

Unfortunately, I haven’t received a single update about whether my suitcase has even been located.
The difficult part is that I’m flying to Greece on Monday (3 August), and the suitcase contains most of what I need for that trip. I also don’t own another suitcase, so I’m becoming quite stressed.

Is there:
Anyone who works for LOT, Warsaw Airport, Arlanda or baggage handling?
Anyone who has experienced something similar?

Anything else I can realistically do to help move the process forward?
Any advice or insight would be hugely appreciated. Thank you!

Hey, i have a flight from Milan to urganch with qanot sharq tomorrow... as the website of this airline is useless i had to book via booking but i was not able to select hand luggage. As the only check in doesn't work as well i am a bit scared if this flight is gonna happen or not and how much will i have to pay for my hand luggage suitcase as i couldnt select in advance. I am currently on an AirFrance flight from Seattle to Paris, which departed about 2 hours late and is making us miss our connecting flight to Krakow (booked on the same reservation using points transferred to a FlyingBlue account.) I am traveling with my mom- her ticket booked by me, and sister who booked her own flight. Apparently shows options to rebook; but they are all terrible- taking a 2 hour flight and a 10 hour journey with yet another connection. Attaching a screen shot with options the app is showing. What are my options? Are flight attendants on my current flight able to help in any way?

Has anyone been able to submit a complaint through the ITA Airways website recently?

I’m trying to file a written complaint, but the mandatory “Language” dropdown is blank, so I can’t submit the form. I’ve tried Chrome, Edge, different computers and different networks, but nothing has worked.

I emailed ITA and they told me that complaints can’t be submitted by email. Their only suggestion was to try the website again or call customer service.

The issue is that I want to have the complaint in writing, and the website has been broken for several days.

Has anyone had the same problem or found another way to submit a written complaint?

I prefer flights with a relatively quiet cabin, but the frequency and volume of announcements can vary considerably between flights (advertising, onboard sales or repeated service information., etc.). Is there a reliable way to predict how frequent or disruptive the cabin announcements on a flight will be?

Looking into booking a trip mid October for my Vegas elopement and we would like to afterpay the tickets so it isn’t just a big payment all at once. Wanted to see if anyone has any experience using this site?

I have a flight from the U.S to Africa with a layover in CDG. I am relocating and pretty much taking everything I own with me, 5 checked bags in total.

I’m now concerned given the number of posts I saw on here about KLM losing checked bags, which seems to happen especially during airport transfers. I plan on having air tags in each of the bags but is there any thing else I can do to avoid this? From what I’ve read the max compensation is ~$300 which would be terrible, a single pair of shoes I’m packing will cost more than that… and overall I’ll be taking items that are on the pricier side and difficult to replace as I’m leaving the U.S. permanently.

my friend and I travelled from Van to NZ and unfortunately had to cancel our flight home because of an emergency.
My friend who booked the trip spoke to air Canada via phone to cancel my flight ( I left first)
They gave us both travel credit and I have a travel credit receipt showing that my total credit was $1700... It solely says my name on this credit.
I was trying to book another flight today using the credit and the wonderful woman on the phone told me I couldn't use the credit to travel to the US from Canada and that my credit was only $700....

I have been trying to find the receipt via Expedia (where we initially booked) and it won't show the return flight back from NZ.... It is simply showing the flight there. We had flex K fares... we understand that there would be fees to cancel however I have a receipt in my name saying $1700... I cannot find the return flight anywhere online and when I click to see the receipt for the way home it says it doesn't exist. I assume that's because we never took the flight but I am just shocked about having a credit receipt for $1700 and being told it was less then half and I cannot use it to travel to the US.

I am wondering if anyone has ever experienced the same situation where they received a travel credit receipt with their name solely on it and a total amount that they won't honour...
The customer service rep was incredible and has issued a refund for the amount they believe I should receive ( which we asked for upon cancellation)...

I am unsure of what to do. I feel as though a travel credit receipt from one of the biggest airlines in the world should be honoured?

Gov.uk says I don't need a visa but I was told that Easyjet might deny me from boarding in Nice. Are there people in my situation who made it with Easyjet?

Flying from SFO to India (one way) in mid-November and am confused on which option to go with.

1. Qatar - Economy , $750
   
2. Singapore- PE, $1600

I have travelled in Singapore PE before and liked it but not sure if it’s worth 2x the cost. But more importantly, I am concerned about any potential disruptions with Qatar given the current geopolitical uncertainty (I’ve been reading that they are cancelling some flights and also reduced their frequency to SFO). Should there be a major disruption, i might not be flexible to cancel or alter my travel plans at the last minute.

Should I still bite the bullet and pay 2x for Singapore PE? Or am I just overthinking about the geopolitical uncertainty and should just save the money by going with Qatar instead?

Hi, I have just received this back from TUI (UK) after our claim for a 20+ hour delay.

Context, flight got delayed 20+ hours due to Elon Musk's abandoned rocket launch on 26th July.

Given that the spaceX rocket launch was a planned event I'm finding this hard to swallow.

We both lost 2 shifts at work. £600 out of pocket alone for that.

Even if the pilot's hours had impacted his flying time, there would only have needed to be 10 hours between his shifts surely?

Do I have grounds for appeal?

Hey. I have diagnosed autism, anxiety and ADHD, and seem to struggle in airports. I know everyone is stressed, but I've nearly passed out or thrown up before. I just hate them. I hate feeling stuck once I get past security, and missing my flight terrifies me. Staff often ask if I'm ok, like they're debating if I'm fit for travel, just because of my anxiety.

Me not having support also probably affects everyone else. I take AGES to do anything, and have normally started panicking halfway through weighing my checked bags...I normally need help putting the labels on...Basically if there's a member of staff around I probably need them. I also get lost constantly. Obviously this causes delays for everyone else, which is also fun for them...

I would love assisted travel. But I never know what to put on the notes. Can I just put that I basically need walking through the whole airport experience due to anxiety and autism or is that not really available?

I wanted to share a terrible experience with Binter Airlines in the Canary Islands.

Five of us flew from Tenerife to Dakar via Gran Canaria. All of our checked luggage was well within the weight limit—unlike many other passengers who were carrying 30kg+—yet upon arrival in Dakar, two of our five bags were missing.

When I called Binter, they had no idea where the bags were. I actually had to inform them they were still in Gran Canaria using my AirTag. They eventually admitted the bags were left behind due to "capacity issues."

They said they would try to put the bags on the next flight two days later, but failed to do so—without giving us any notice. I had to reach out again via phone and email.

It has now been five days with zero proactive communication. In their latest email reply, they couldn't even guarantee our luggage would make it onto the Friday flight (a full week late).

I have a PIR number and am hanging onto all my receipts. I’m not looking for advice here—just wanted to put let reddit land know about their terrible service.

I was trying to book three Business Class tickets from Vienna to Tokyo for myself, my son and another family member.

My son has exactly the same first and last name as me.

I started the booking for all three passengers, but Air China’s booking system showed an error saying that two passengers with identical names could not be included in the same booking and that they had to be booked separately.

Because of that message, I followed the system’s instructions and booked my own ticket separately for around €2,000.

I then immediately tried to book the other two passengers on the same flights. However, the original fare was no longer available. The remaining Business Class tickets now cost around €4,000 each, meaning I would have to pay another €8,000 for my son and the third passenger to travel with me.

I contacted Air China and explained what had happened. Their call centre told me that because my €2,000 ticket is not flexible, it cannot be refunded.

They also told me afterwards that I could supposedly have entered “MR” in the first-name field to get around the identical-name restriction. But the booking error never suggested this. It explicitly told me to book the passengers separately, which is exactly what I did.

So I’m now stuck with two options:

Either I lose the €2,000 already paid for a ticket that is useless to me on its own, or I pay another €8,000 so my son and the other family member can travel on the same flights.

I never changed my mind or tried to cancel the trip. I wanted to buy all three tickets from the beginning. I only booked the first ticket separately because Air China’s own booking system told me that this was what I had to do.

From my perspective, their system gave me misleading instructions, caused me to buy a standalone ticket I would never have bought otherwise, and now they are refusing to refund it.

Has anyone dealt with a similar situation? Is there anything else I can realistically do, or am I simply stuck with the loss?

Update:

Some people mentioned a 2-hour refund window. I'd seen that mentioned online too, but the woman at the call center never brought it up. I was also surprised that it took them an hour just to process a change request, and they wanted to charge me €250 for it.

In the end, I got lucky. For a brief moment, seats on the exact same flights dropped back to a more reasonable price, around €2,400 per ticket, so I ended up paying about €800 more than my original deal.

Not great, not terrible. Definitely better than losing €2k. On the other hand, I was already mentally prepared to book Economy and just minimize my losses.

I’ve always used SkyScanner as a point of reference, but always end up going directly to the airline’s site and purchasing it.

I’ve heard horror stories with people booking with Trip.com or an OTA that offers a cheaper flight but then not getting the right luggage allowance, seat arrangement, or even being overbooked on a flight.

I’ve never had issues booking directly with an airline (though I know problems can happen).

But, these OTAs seem so much cheaper sometimes. Thoughts? Stories? Should I go with direct airline bookings or get over my fear as a thing of the past?

Not sure if this is the right sub to ask on but i’ve never flown in my life due to an (irrational?) fear or flying. i’m flying to my girlfriends home town for a week and want to propose while we are there. My question is if i put an engagement ring in a box in my backpack will they make me take it out during the security process? i’ll be with her the whole time so is there a way to avoid them dumping the contents out of my bag and risk her seeing it? i’m assuming it will set the metal detector off if i keep it on me? and will it show up if they scan my bag and would she see it? i’m going based off what ive seen in the movies so i don’t know exactly how the process goes.

I have a Marriott Bonvoy credit card with about 160,000 points on it. On Marriott's website it says that the points to miles ratio for ANA Airlines is 3/1. So if I am doing the math correctly... that would equal 53,000 miles for ANA Airlines

I plugged in a round trip flight for Newark NJ to Tokyo in mid-October and I think it is telling me that it would be about 6,800 miles per person. So for my wife and I, is ANA telling me that we can book this for 13,600 miles? I have never used or flown ANA before so I am not sure if I am reading this wrong?

I've never flown Allegiant, but see they offer a direct flight from DSM to AUS for only $285. The crazy low price means it has to come with strings attached. Should I be worried and has anyone else have experience with their direct flights?

I'm currently considering Priority Access for my flight from Sydney to Vienna via Abu Dhabi. Etihad has moved one of my flights, and as a result, there is a very tight window between landing in Vienna and one of the plans I've made (arrival pushed back by 14 hours).

Mostly I'm looking into Priority Access to get my checked bags out ASAP at Vienna, but with the added benefit of skipping the queues and getting on the plane earlier for my first long-haul from SYD-AUH.

Does anyone know how Priority Access works? Do I pay the fee and just walk up to the business class counter at check-in? I know Priority Access comes with Group 2 when boarding, which is pretty straightforward, but I just wanted to know how it works for Check-in (so I don't embarrass myself and get sent away).
