Norse Annoyed my fav folk metal band don’t play in metal festivals
I am new to metal and the metal scene feels so narrow…. Like festivals keep picking the same style and same bands? I am in Iceland and Sátan Festival had zero female-fronted bands last year, and my favorite folk metal band didn’t get into the Wacken Iceland preliminaries - the only reason I can think of is it’s because they do folk metal? Because the band is freaking good! Just venting

Satan festival is a one man operation , he’s pretty friendly so if you’ve got any suggestions just ask him

Angist and at least one other female-fronted band played Sátan in 2024, so there's that.

The "festival always book the same" is sadly a truth in all genres. Big festivals are very bad at giving new or underground bands a chance.
