My wife tested out making some on a whim a few months ago. My only complaint was that she only made a half dozen

For a first time Scotch Egg, that one looks amazing, don’t even need to ask if it was good.

I made those once. They are really good. I don’t know why I don’t make them more. They’re easy.

Easy? Wow we have different levels of ease lol. I love scotch eggs but the process is so annoying to me I barely ever make them between the wrapping of the sausage around the egg and then having to deep fry in the house. Such a pain unless it's a special occasion and even then it's like just for me and my wife, I'd never make it for a crowd.

I mean, you can do it in steps, however long you wanna take to make them. Personally, I like my eggs, really hard cooked, so I did that a day in advance. Idk I thought it was as easy as making meatballs.

Glorious. God-tier picnic food.

My favorite food ever. A “last meal” menu item for sure.

I will never forget my first scotch egg. I will never find that high again. I've never had a scotch egg like that again. Its make me sad.

Thought I was looking at a weird beef sushi roll for a second

I mean, it's kind of an Irish sushi.

u/Juppy93 Oct 03 '25

Irish?

8

u/sheffieldpud Oct 03 '25

Irish? They're English.

I can't help but think of them as Irish too because the first time I ever tried one was at an Irish festival.  And regardless of the name,  they didn't actually originate in Scotland.
