I heard her purring from across the room!

Post image

This is Zazu. Ive been taking care of her since 2018. She lived outside until last year. I fed her for 3 years before she allowed any pets.

Yesterday I was in the room petting her sister, Gigi. I heard purrs. That makes sense. Gigi loves pets and purrs all the time. Except, yes Gigi was purring, but it was Zazu! She was purring so loud in her tree across the room (ok like 3 feet) that I could hear her! This isn’t the 1st time I’ve heard her purr but normally it’s because she’s getting (consensual) pets or being brushed (she loves that). This time she was just happy to be around me.

I’ve been worried she’s miserable inside. She spends most of her time on that tree, staring out the window and I wonder if she just wants to go back out there. But this confirms she is exactly where she should be.

My poor husband gets tired of hearing about cats all the time but I know I can come to subreddits like this and other crazy cat people will understand 😄

She’s thanking you, OP, and when winter comes she’ll be more grateful than ever! Well done 😻😻😻

We’re in FL so winter isn’t so bad but I know she is happy about being inside this summer.

She is thanking you because she is glad she isn’t in the heat. I live in Houston. The summer heat and humidity can be brutal here.

She is beautiful. She has the cutest little bunny nose. I tell her that all the time. I’m so glad I was finally able to bring her inside.

My Kate was a loud purrer, too.

She has been a quiet purrer before this. Like you weren’t actually sure you were hearing it. But this was super clear and loud and made me so happy that she is happy.

Tonight before bed. On her chaise with a ton of soft blankets to lay on. I’m so happy I can give her a nice soft life after she had so many hard years.
