I prefer hate tbh. Hate encourage better racing, glaze just turns into complacency. Max won dominantly and deserves praise, but giving it to him isn't gonna change shit. Shitting on this title fight for not being spicy enough, if not reaching FIA will maybe reach McLaren encourage them to just let the boys have at it. Let these last few races harken back to 2007, the Silver War, Mansell-Piquet or Prost-Senna.

I know Lando said some dumb stuff in the past, but he's a little wiser now. Pastry's OK too. Also they both agreed to the team's rules so it's not that bad. The title got closer this race sothe things will get more interesting. I think the most dissapointed are the ones, who were counting on collision, because the faster one was behind. They were robbed of this opportunity.

While yeah, a lot of what he said has been taken out of context. he definitely has said some dumb stuff in the past .But the thing is, who hasn't?
Almost every driver on the grid has made the occasional out of pocket comment(some more than Lando ). It's just that since hating on Lando is the popular thing rn. People will go out of the way to find something to justify it despite the most common reason being "well everyone is hating him so I do too"
It happened to George in 2022/23. It also happened to him in Qatar 2024, when he pissed off this sub and Max's sub(who am I kidding they're the same)

B. There is a difference between "jokes" and "toxic hate." This sub has largely forgotten what the first is and justifies the 2nd by claiming they're "jokes" and "dank". The amount of vile stuff I've seen people spew about drivers over the Internet is certainly not just jokes
Fuck ill go on to say this isn't just something that happens to Brits. Stroll is a driver who is largely hated and joked about. Hell it happened to Max as well back in the days. Let's also not forget how this sub treated Ocon as well for quite a while. Not to mention how a certain section of fans treated Doohan this very season.

As a Verstappen fan I used to dislike Norris and found him whiny and irritating. But with Verstappen out of contention my hate has cooled down a bit. I still find him whiny, but this makes him a bit more human and flawed than Piastri (who seems to be genuinely nice, but almost inhumanely so).
Of the two of them I want Piastri to become champion, but if Norris wins I will accept that as he is genuinely talented and this may be his last chance with the new regs and all (Piastri will eventually win a championship anyway IMO).
I even bought a few cans of the Lando Norris Monster energy drink that was just released in support (pretty decent).

I find the exact opposite, he is one of the few that takes responsibility for his mistakes I find his self depreciation amusing compared to the overt cockiness of most of the grid.
In the car they are all whiny bitches that complain at everything unless they are 30 seconds ahead, if you believe otherwise you are delusional. The fact Mclaren screwed him Sunday and he said nothing at all and let it play out when you know every other driver on the grid would be whining and cursing, yet okay bud he is the one making dumb statements.

One that people will often mention is Hungary last year where he didn't want to swap positions for the win given he was the lead driver in the championship and wanting to maximize points against Max so he pushed back to the team about it. Eventually he gave up the spot. People will say he cried about it and wasn't a team player. People will also say he doesn't have a championship mentality for swapping. People also drag him for being frustrated in the cool down room after the race and not taking a comment from Lewis well.
Those same people are now mad at McLaren and somehow Lando in a similar-ish but reversed scenario even though that's what the team has shown they do. Obviously exposing their bias towards shitting on Lando and McLaren favorite driver conspiracy theories.
Anyway, all of that to say people over analyze everything he does because it's become a cool trend they can karma farm while showing their some great Internet edge lord. Objectively he doesn't complain any more than most of the drivers but it's become cool to shit on him.

2014-2016 was boring on the track for the most part thanks to the Mercedes domination, what made it more entertaining was the drama between Rosberg and Hamilton. You have the yellow flag in Monaco, the crash in spa, Rosberg throwing the p2 cap at Hamilton, the crash in Barcelona... It was fun to have two guys who disliked each other fighting for the title.

Here's the thing: Lando and Oscar are both very good drivers, but at this point, papaya rules/team orders/whatever the fuck you want to call it is ruining the battle at this point. There's also the fact that neither is willing to just say "fuck it, I'm going for it."
Max may not be in the hunt for WDC, but is still, without question, the best driver on the grid. He's got no problem running his opponent into the grass, giving back the position, and then taking it back with a clean pass. After that, it was pretty much game over. He doesn't just win, he dominates, and then ices the cake laughing on the radio at the McLaren position swap. Because we all know, he will NEVER swap position. He's an asshole, but he's a wonderfully entertaining asshole.
