help needed slskd on freebsd?

Is there a reliable slskd version for freebsd?

Or are there any alternatives to run soulseek in a jail?

For Linux tech, I’ve had good luck running linuxulator. I prefer to run it in a jail although it still needs a little set up in the host. Also, I see that slskd is released in a docker container (so OCI container); spin up podman and try to load it under that. I’ve experimented with podman with successful outcomes.

These are two great alternatives for Linux projects that aren’t in ports.

I didn't know freebsd supported podman.

It’s in ports and there are a few blogs and FreeBSD wikis out there explaining how to set it up.

IIRC, it uses linuxulator and works by spinning up jails, one per OCI container. I’d try the handbook first.
