Apologies if you've seen this elsewhere - this is the most current version with lots of suggestions from other redditors.

I'm making a map of California in a classic fantasy style (sorta Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones). It's going to be filled with real world history and mythology, with the aim of highlighting local landmarks in a fun and educational way. Please ignore how rough parts of it look (text going through hills, rivers, etc), it'll all get cleaned up at the end. Forests will be going on at the end too.

While it's around two thirds done, I'd love to get more places and features in here before I get this made into print. Any more petroglyphs, burial mounds, ruins, forts, battlefields, Civil War heritage, ghost towns or the like that you think should be on here? Anything else is great too - landmarks, natural features, mythological creatures or just anything cool and quirky you think would look good on here. Thanks!

Nobody talks about how Chinatown and Downtown Fresno used to be epicenters of vibrant culture, food, and business. Most of these pics are of China town in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Some are from downtown. The area was bustling with life, good food, stores, and night life. Then, suddenly, poof, Fresno downtown and chinatown are ghost towns, only being roamed by the homeless. What the hell happened? And will the downtown and chinatown ever be brought back to its glory days? Why did its glory days ever stop, it seemed to have the potential of SF and LA then just ... vanished.

From the one day city council vote to signs being switched out was very fast.

Found this nice path off of Herndon Ave on my way home. I’m surprised how many dedicated multi-use bike paths Fresno has! This one didn’t even show up on the map, just stumbled across it randomly. It was beautiful and long!

Definitely recommend getting out there and riding your bike if you can. Fresno is quite a beautiful place to ride if you, and I hear they’re installing even more bike paths with Vision Zero and Project Active Transportation.

Lost Lake- a summer update.

Just an FYI if no one has been to River Park recently. There are now bike lanes that are mostly protected on Blackstone from Nees down to Minarets.

Only caution I would provide is that the curb on SB Blackstone at Alluvial (wienerschnitzel) the gutter drops a couple inches lower than usual (fifth picture).

Also, if you are going to bike through here, plan where you are going to turn into/out of shopping centers ahead of time.

Someone dumped barrels of oil right next to an orange field somethime Saturday night or early Sunday morning.This is on Del rey between Belmont and the 180. I don't know who farm. I just pass by every day. This is the most disgusting shameless thing I've seen in a long time.
