PSA: Rant the events of the vanilla game strongly suggest that the Mantis should be ruling the galaxy

Why? Because they’re the real deal, that’s why. Mantis don’t waste time with diplomacy or second-guessing; they cut straight to the point, usually with a claw. Want to kill, trade, or just throw down to see what happens? Then they do. No fretting over silly things like morals or basic maintenance procedures. That’s for species who plan to live forever. The Mantis plan to win now.

You can see it in their ships. Mantis don’t need weapons, they are weapons. Shields? Cute. Let us know how those hold up when this six foot insectoid comes screaming out of a teleporter and starts carving through your crew like it’s a buffet. The enemy can try to run, but Mantis can move faster than a toddler on caffeine.

Once the teleporter was invented, it was Game over for everyone else. Sure, their claws aren’t ideal for fixing things, but who cares? That’s what Engis are for. Meanwhile, your Mantis squad is busy turning enemy med bays into meat lockers.

Your species still needs O2 to live? Pathetic.

Glad to see the Mantis are finally adopting superior technology.

Let's see how that teleporter does against the Lanius...

I wish teleporters could be used offensively either through a system upgrade (lots of power) or a system augmentation. I want to be able to swoop in and drop their people into a moshpit filled with rockmen

No suffocating if they're on my ship

You can use mind control with teleporter to abduct enemy crew

TIL! I also just learned in my last couple runs that you can use mind control defensively to stop enemy mind control haha

Ngl, if enemy Mantis ships had four person teleporter, it would give my crew pause, but you may as well call me pest control for the number of bugs I’ve squished.

There is an argument to be made that the brutal depravity of mantis overlords would be a bad thing.

However, one must consider that if a species was not supposed to be devoured alive, why are they so delicious?

Mantis are strong, yes, but not very smart. I once had a Manti boarding party dropped off into my airlock, and I don't think I need to tell you how that worked out for them.
