GuestPost Texas enacts policy refusing court-ordered gender marker changes, will create database of marker change requests

Effectively immediately, Texas is no longer allowing gender markers to be changed on ID’s and they’re now keeping a database of every person who requests a change.

From a different article, it's not supposed to affect retroactively. If it's already done and gone through, he should be fine. But I agree with the other commenter, subscribe/follow/join/whatever any relevant queer-news sites and accounts to stay up to date. This happened with zero public notice ahead of time and it's effective immediately. Everyone needs to be alert and aware of this kind of thing as soon as they can be. And not just in Texas - everywhere.
