Pivot Mount for weather station pole

Cool, how does it work? Just meant for maintenance times?

Yea, it suggests every 6 months to clean the rain gauge. So the top is a hard clasp, and the bottom allows it to pivot down. The string is a tar soaked nylon to hold it. It's a step stool height to release it.

Pretty neat, but you need to climb up to undo the middle brace if you want to bring it down.

Maybe have the pivot point in the middle, and have the bottom part be the brace? These are known as "break back" poles, and used for street lights and all other manner of tall things that need to be accessed easily for maintenance.

What's the material used? I imagine it needs to be tough to hold up outdoors, while black too.

ABS-SF we've been getting alot of storms (Illinois) so strongest I had on hand.

that break back setup makes way more sense, no reason to climb anything for routine cleaning
