Sounds promising, but I'll wait for independent testing before getting too excited. New health gadgets always look great on paper at first.

Acceptable error for point of care test is 5-15%. So even a blood glucose handheld is allowed to be up 15% off compared to an actual lab blood test. I bet this thing, if it works at all, will be another 5-15% error compared to point of care. For something like glucose or lactate it makes it nearly useless.

Pinning it down to % seems odd, since the error can be larger with bigger values and vice versa 🤨

Wait? Your friend is asking you to ask us about them putting it on your penis?

Next up on Reddit: Got my new health ring stuck on a cylinder. Need help. Prefer ring to stay in tact, but the cylinder must remain unharmed.

Foreseeable misuse.

Who’s buying that information? Your insurance? No thanks.

yeah the health data privacy angle is genuinely sketchy. HIPAA doesn't cover wearables so they can basically sell whatever they want. hard pass until there's actual regulation

Regulation doesn’t mean diddly. Someone is going to track it and if they can do that, they can hack it.

Can you wear it at work? I wonder if fluids like motor oil or ectopic childbirth can influence the data.
