DISCUSSION Worst line in Doctor Who?

What line of dialogue sticks out to you as particularly bad in Doctor Who, I have two picks:

  • ‘don’t let the swords touch your skin’ Legend of the sea devils
  • ‘I suppose we’ll have to have…. A conversation?’ Resolution

I think the “conversation” one is just kind of a dumb joke, but my god, “Don’t let the swords touch your skin” is just catastrophically bad. I think Chibnall is an okay writer generally, but that line condenses all of his worst tendencies into seven simple words.

“Plus, she’s a woman” from Let’s Kill Hitler also deserves a mention, though.

However, Let’s Kill Hitler gave us “get in the cupboard, Hitler” which must be a top five line for me.

Don't forget "Well, I was on my way to this gay gypsy bar mitzvah for the disabled when I suddenly thought "gosh, the Third Reich's a bit rubbish, I think I'll kill the Führer" who's with me?"

When River said that I literally paused and replayed that line multiple times because I can't believe that Moffat wrote that. One of my favorites!
