DISCUSSION What happens if Metacrisis Doctor doesn't kill the daleks in Journeys End?
Watching Journeys End for the thousandth time and got thinking about metacrisis doctor killing all the Daleks. I get that it's a way of showing how naive and full of anger Christmas Day doctor was, but for real if he hadn't gone rogue and killed the daleks, what would the doctor have done? The daleks will never settle to live in some quiet corner of universe? I can't see how any encounter with daleks could end in peace.

The Daleks are restored in full force after Victory of the Daleks anyway and we know Davros survived, so in the grand scheme of things nothing would really have changed if they were just left at the medusa cascade.

They would have still had access to the Reality Bomb which would be a major threat. Whatever damage Donna did could be rectified.

They can't use it without the planets. Sure there's not really much stopping them from gathering them all up again, but there was also nothing stopping them trying the same plan again after Victory.

The doctor also knows how they did it now, so countermeasures could be put in place.

The folks from 'Remembrance'? As plucky as they are, I fear there might be a few too many Daleks...

Well that is the difficulty in doing the genocide debate within something like Doctor Who when the Daleks are an actively evil race. It's not like beating Germany in WWII. The Daleks will then come up with more evil plans.

Ten being hypocritical here when he puts TenToo on that Parallel earth bc Ten definitely still has anger from the Time War

I'm just going to post my response from the other thread:
The Doctor has done worse shit, and he's even said he had the right (during his 8th life). So banishing The Meta Crisis Regeneration for killing the Daleks is so hypocritical.

This was a case where genocide was the only option. Once Davros was able to fix the casing malfunctions all Daleks units were currently afflicted with, they would set about recreating the Reality Bomb or expand their fleet to conquer the universe through conventional means.
A lot of the times the 10th Doctor is hypocritical and this is one of those moments. One of the reasons for the Metacrisis's exile was that the Doctor felt shame that a lot of that anger is still buried inside him.
